3 Chapter 3: Not a revenge guy

Confronted with a knight in armor, I was in rage and pain.

My body started pumping to stand up and charge toward the knight while my mind was looking for clues on how to get away from him.

What? Should I take him head-on? Yeah, no.

I might be a loser in my previous life, but I also take pride in my military training. I had even fought in wars, and as a veteran fighter, I knew that the man standing in front of me was several times stronger than this 11-year-old child.

As I get closer to him, my head might be rolling in the air. I could tell the man had experienced swinging his weapon just by a glimpse.

And what's more, his strength might be on par, if not greater, than US Colonel or Commander in melee combat. There was just some strength in him that didn't make sense.

However, running away from here was also not an option.

I was tired, injured, and thirsty, while the man was full of strength. I know how far he had run, and after reaching here, I don't think anyone in their right mind would let their prey go.

I had no choice but to take him on before looking for an escape route.

"Haha, as expected from a brat of Whitedeer Tribe, you have a pretty sturdy body, eh?!" The man spoke with a grin as he started moving toward me.

So the tribe of my predecessor was called Whitedeer Tribe? I received the name and some personal information upon receiving memories, but I didn't pay attention till then.

However, it was still not the time to inspect these new memories as the man in armor slowly approached me with bloodthirstiness in his eyes.

As he walked toward me, I noticed two essential things that might come to my advantage.

My first advantage was this idiot-looking guy in armor. I called him an idiot because he underestimated me despite having greater strength. His legs moments were laggy even after being aware of my weapon. He was confident about his armor, especially the neck area covered with chainmail.

Secondly, the field might come as an advantage. I didn't notice before, but most of the area was covered with soft soil and long ivy roots. Even though the moonlight was intense, it was not reaching the ground, so it was hard to run or walk… not for an eleven-year-old with the mind of a former US special force soldier like me.

Seeing things in my favor, I might be able to escape, but I need to get my act.

"D-don't come near me!!" I shrieked with a fearful tone. From the last kick, I already had some tears in my eyes, enhancing my act altogether.

"Hehe, too bad, kid. If I have mercy left, I wouldn't have killed your tribe and burned your parents right before you, now would I?!"

!!!

Again, my body ran through intense heat to jump towards him, but I didn't speak and remained silent. Thank goodness, it was only my body reacting to his provocations, and my mind was still working fine… well, for now.

"Die!"

He yelled and vertically swung his dark sword with all his might.

Just as the sword was about to land on my neck, I pumped my full strength on all of my libs and leaped back.

It was a close call, but I thought I saw time slowing down for a split second. I didn't know what was happening, and neither did I have time to think.

The sword missed me and hit the ground, but its impact was so powerful that it pushed me further backward before I could take this chance and attack him.

I was surprised at how this could be possible. It was scientifically impossible even if the person was made of steel with a ton weight until or unless he is equipped with highly advanced tech or…

Right, Magic. Reincarnation in the medieval era, knights with unknown strength, 'magic' would be the only conclusion behind his power.

"Come back here, runt!" The man growled and also followed. He also noticed the surface that was hard to walk on or run on. His metallic boots were the problem for him against my tiny feet covered with fabric.

I could have run away or, for high risk, charged at him after seeing him stuck in a place, but I had to remain calm. Even for the risk factor, my survivability lies on 90% odds in my favor, even if the difficulty is much higher than I can imagine.

I didn't have much energy to outrun him, so I had to take the chance and land at least one strike to decapitate him.

I continued to wear my frightening mask to let him guard down further.

"Let's see how long you can run, Light Cross Cut!"

Did he call the name of his attack?! Seriously, are we in some fictional world?!

I would have loved to inquire about that anime move, but first, I have to dodge this magical arc that just escaped from his sword.

Believing in my ultra instincts, I bent my waist when I saw the horizontal arc flying above me. Again, I felt like time had been stopped. But performing Matrix move in my life, I gotta thank this body.

"Ah…" However, I also fell victim to routes on the ground and stumbled on my back.

Then I saw the man in armor in front of me with his sword high in the sky.

"Got you! Now die!"

When he was about to swing his sword, I took a handful of dust in my hand and smirked, "I'm gonna put some dirt in your eye."

Just like chad Spidey, I shove sand on his face.

"Arg, my eyes!"

Yes, he fell for it!

Just as he covered his face and was about to step back, I saw a long root tangled around his left leg. I smirked and pulled it.

"Wha!"

He tried to balance his feet but couldn't and was about to fall on me when I leaped under his legs while swinging my dagger above to cut the joint muscle of his leg….

"AAAAAAGGGG MY BALLS!"

Or not, I think I cut the wrong thing. Even if he was there to kill me, hitting someone's nuts was still painful.

But I didn't fall for his agony. I saw another opening right behind his knee, so I swung my dagger again and cut his muscle.

Again, his screams echoed in the dark forest.

"You fu*king runt!"

The main roared and tried to cut me with his sword, but luke was not by his side. Before that blade could reach me, I jumped forward and caught his arm. I knew he wouldn't let go of his sword, so I cut his fingers and snapped the blade away.

Then I invested my body weight and strength into the man's arm and bent it to the opposite side.

Crack*

With broccoli cracking, I have assured my success.

"Phew, that was wild~!"

At that moment, adrenaline gushed in my brain, and blood rose in my eyes. My breath grew, and I gazed at the man with bloodlust.

I knew that something was wrong with me.

"Hah… Hah… Aaaa!" I lost control of myself with a battle cry and jumped on the fallen knight's neck. "I will kill you!!!"

Since his neck was covered with chainmail, I looked around and found a big rock just near my right foot.

It was heavy, but I lifted it with all my power like I was lifting 'that' hammer and started hitting his head.

With 'Die, Die!' repeating, I continued to hit his head with a rock. With the third strike, I shook off his helmet, and his head covered with blood came into my sight.

"I will kill you!" I screamed and slammed his head with a rock, using all my strength, but it seemed like I had just hit something substantial like a wood.

Seeing his head glowing with some magic, I determined that he must be using some defensive or enhancement magic.

"Arggg! G-get away from me!" The knight tried to grab me, but his hand couldn't reach this 11 year's body.

I, on the other hand, or perhaps my body that was reacting on his own, was far from done.

I continued to hit his head with a rock until his head started to get soft and blood began to flow. His magic must be worn out, and he slowed down his struggle.

It was inevitable that I would be going to kill this man as I was out of control of my body. If nothing were done, then I would kill this man. I had to stop myself somehow.

"You will pay! You will pay for killing my parents!!" I cried and threw the rock and picked my dagger back.

I raised the dagger in the sky with the last bloodshot, ready to take a person's life.

Am I going to take life as soon as I am given another chance? Then memories of my past life started to display right in front of me how I took several innocent life in the name of justice. I never cared about the aftermath of war, the bloody conflict in the Middle East and Afghanistan.

I closed my eyes and took a deep breath.

The child in me was just in pain.

"I promise to seek the right way to pay for your parents' death, but I can't kill him now," I spoke in a soft and caring voice.

My soul might have taken over this body, but my predecessor's spirit was still alive.

He could have killed the man before me to avenge my predecessor's body if someone was in my place, but I am different.

As someone who has taken part in wars and admitted mistakes, I knew my life's value. This man might be a sinner for killing people, but I can't just dip my hands in blood.

I will not kill anyone who isn't my enemy in my new life.
