Traitorous Leveler

Yone looked back at him while continuing to shoot arrows. "What?! There's no way that you can take all of them down! You're just a level 8!"

Azviel yawned and leaned against the wall once more. "Believe what you want. You're going to die soon anyways. Trade me something and I'll help you."

She gritted her teeth. "How about my bow?"

He shrugged. "Don't need it. Do you have any good artifacts or money?"

Marn shouted, "You bastard! We're in your party! You should be helping us!"

Yone lifted up a hand for him to be quiet. "How much money? Five gold coins?"

Azviel shook his head and held up six fingers. She tried again. "Six gold coins?"

He shook his head once more. "No, sixty gold coins."

Yone almost screamed at that. "Are you insane?! I don't have sixty gold coins on myself!"

Azviel smiled. "Not on yourself, but between Marn and you. You have enough for sixty."

Marn clenched his sword tightly. "There's no way I'm giving-" Bane stopped him by placing a hand on his shoulder. "I'll help you guys pay for it too. If he helps, we may have a chance. Even if we don't pay him, we're going to die here anyways."

Yone sighed and dropped all her gold coins from her pockets. "Here. I have forty." Both Marn and Bane dropped ten coins each. In a single swoop, Azviel picked them all up. "Hmm...Good enough for a meal~"

He flipped all of them into a pocket and grinned. "That's all you needed to do!" He picked up his dagger from his belt and leapt at the bats.

Azviel slashed while laughing manically. Within a minute, all of the bats dropped to the ground, dead. "Is that it? Pay if you want more services."

He whistled and headed to the back of the group. Marn clenched his fist so hard that blood was dripping from his fingertips. "That bastard dares play with us like this...This is impossible for a level 8!"

Bane gripped his shoulder once more. "C'mon, let's go."

As Yone continued leading them down a hallway, Elzya gripped the hem of Azviel's cloak. "A-Aldo! Are you a traitorous l-leveler?" She looked up at him with big eyes.

He frowned. "A traitorous leveler? What is that?"

She looked down at the floor. "T-They're people who fake their levels so that they can go to lower level dungeons and take all the artifacts."

Azviel shrugged. "I don't know, am I?"

Yone shouted out, "We're heading to the third floor now!" Everyone walked down a set of stairs that led to a pair of doors.

Pushing it, Bane opened the door to see a large cave-like room with a giant bat. On top of its head it read:

[Bat Lord]

[Lvl: 75]

Yone gritted her teeth once more. "That's a C-Rank dungeon boss! Everyone, be careful! This is a C-Rank dungeon, not a D-Rank one!"

Bane lifted up his shield and led out a wave of energy. The boss instantly became attracted to him. Azviel felt it affecting him too. However, he held himself back. "Huh...I didn't know those things will still affect me..."

He stood back as he watched Marn and Yone try to kill it. The bat instantly knocked them out of the way with a flap of its wings. They both hit the wall with a loud thud!

Elzya held out her hands and started healing them. Bane was barely holding on at this point. With another flap of its wings, he was sent flying to the back too.

Yone spat out a mouthful of blood. "H-Help us...Aldo..."

Azviel grinned. "I don't work for free~" She tossed all the artifacts she had on the ground. "Take these...You can also take whatever the boss drops..."

Marn threw out a few gold coins, and Bane did too.

Azviel looked through them. "Not bad~ I suppose this is enough payment for now. I'll get the rest later after saving your sorry lives."

He held up a hand and a small blazing black fireball shone on top of his palm. It was like a black hole, sucking in whatever was near it.

The boss try to fly away, but it was getting pulled towards the swirling fireball. It vanished in a second and Azviel closed his fist. The fireball disappeared. He smiled. "Poof~"

A large black portal appeared behind him. Yone supported Marn and started limping towards the portal.

When they reached the exit, a large black fire wall sprang up. She turned around and yelled, "What do you want? We already paid you what you requested!"

Azviel lifted his hands up innocently. "Oh, it's not that. It would be bad if information got out that I was here. Therefore, I must end you here before you get out!" He switched his dagger to a large broadsword.

Bane held up his shield in front of them. "Let them leave, Aldo. We already cleared this dungeon." Elzya nodded and grabbed his cloak. "Yes, Aldo, let's get out."

Azviel grabbed Elzya by the collar. "I'm fed up with you. Stop acting. I know you're a traitorous leveler."

She trembled. "W-What are you talking about? I'm just a little h-healer!" Azviel gripped her even tighter. "Stop lying. I can see right through you."

Elzya jumped back and laughed. "Impressive. Someone hasn't seen through me in a long time. Well, he's right though. All of you will die here!"

She let out a burst of killing intent, and the level on her head instantly changed.
