The Hometown

It was a bad day, one could possibly say the darkest day in the history of Veer. With a vast rich history, Veer was a town where the mages of the Kneldien empire resided. Generations of the mages have spent their lives here in Veer, a land gifted by the second emperor of Kneldien to the mages 780 years back when they helped win the the war against the neigbouring Phar empire.

But today it was in ruins. Ria the eldest daughter of the head mage stood in position with her friend Kaya. They were prepared for the worst.

"I'm sorry Ria. If I knew this was going to be the last day of our lives, I would not have thrown your god awful pie." Kaya said with a smile and eyes that were trying their best not to shed tears.

"Watch it! Above your head!" Ria shouted. "If you talk less and focus more on the spells then we'll have a greater chance to win this. This is not the end but a minor speed bump." said Ria. Although deep in her heart she knew that this was perhaps their last battle together.

A swarm of beasts charged towards the girls. They were among the last 7 mages left in the town of Veer since the Kneldien empire was attacked by these nefarious monsters. The whole empire fell to pieces. No victory was in sight. Aristocrats, nobles and other influential people fled and the poor were left to die.
