18 Chapter 18: Building Base Monster

Argon, who was oblivious to what was happening outside, had just finished purchasing the goblin tribe. He strategically placed the goblins at the end of the forest, using them to protect the heart of the dungeon.

Now, his focus shifted to acquiring a Building Base monster. With ten soul coins remaining out of his initial forty, he knew it would be enough to buy both a first-stage and a fifth-stage Building Base monster.

Argon filtered out the expensive options and narrowed down his choices to the Building Base monsters. Specifically, he was looking for a wolf-type monster. After scrolling through the system shop, he found three potential candidates.

[Giant Great Wolf

Cultivation: First-Stage Building Base

Price: 10 soul coins]

[Twin-Headed Wolf

Cultivation: First-Stage Building Base

Price: 10 soul coins]

[Hell Wolf

Cultivation: First-Stage Building Base

Price: 10 soul coins]

While the giant great wolf belonged to the same species as the one in the wolf den, the twin-headed wolf possessed two heads, and the hell wolf had a hideous appearance. Argon decided to choose the giant great wolf, even though other species of wolves could have been an option as well.

Moments later, a summoning array materialized on the ground, and from it emerged a two-meter-tall wolf, rising slowly and towering over the surroundings.

After completing this task, Argon teleported back to the goblin tribe. This was not his first visit, and the advantage was that he could communicate with the goblins. Although their language sounded like gibberish to him, he surprisingly understood them without any difficulty.

Arriving at the chief's house, where the seventh-stage body tempering goblin resided, Argon suddenly appeared in front of them. The goblin, who was sitting on a little throne with two six-stage goblins as guards, immediately rose from the throne and knelt down to greet Argon. The guards followed suit, kneeling as well.

"Welcome back, My Lord," the goblin chief exclaimed.

Considering Argon as their creator and a god, the goblins held unwavering loyalty towards him.

"Rise. You're leading a good life here, aren't you?" Argon remarked.

The goblin, being the strongest in the tribe, deserved the position of sitting on the throne. However, his comfortable life was about to change, as Argon intended to summon a third-stage Building Base monster to guard the area.

The goblin became nervous upon hearing this news.

Observing the goblin's reaction, Argon dropped any playful demeanor.

'Having someone to talk to again feels good,' Argon thought.

"I'm here to summon a new hobgoblin, so you may step back for now."

Argon had already chosen a monster to purchase—a hobgoblin, an evolved version of a goblin.

[Hobgoblin

Cultivation: Third-Stage Building Base

Price: 30 soul coins]

In no time, a burly two-meter-tall hobgoblin appeared in front of him. Its appearance didn't differ much from a normal goblin, except for its imposing size. Carrying a blunt weapon at its waist, the hobgoblin made the goblin seem like a mere child in comparison.

With its hideous appearance and formidable strength, encountering a hobgoblin was not something an ordinary cultivator would desire.
