Excerpt: "Why do you even want to sleep with me again? It's so strange of you!" Euphemia said. Lucien took her hand and pressed his lips on the back of her hand. "It felt very nice. I liked feeling your body against mine. I liked seeing you wake up. I would like to see your face when I sleep and when I wake up." Euphemia was shocked. She had not expected Lucien to be this affectionate. She had only prepared herself for an engagement that was like a business transaction. She had not prepared herself for something like this. That Summer When Snow Fell

Yohann gasped for air. His vision was fading. Everything seemed to be falling apart, turning into shadow, turning into a dark winter night.

The white wolf walked over to the ice sculpture. It slashed the sculpture with its huge claws. The king's frozen head rolled on the ground. Once the ice melts, the king would still be dead as his body had broken into several pieces.

The white wolf walked over to its master. Its nose nudged Yohann's head.

"Ferus . . . t-thank you," Yohann said, his teeth chattering from the cold.

The cold was taking over his body. He had used a forbidden spell. A spell that shouldn't be used because the caster would also experience the backlash of Winter's Fury.

A part of him thought that he must have made a foolish mistake. He sacrificed himself to kill the mad king but a part of him also wanted to avenge his brothers and his people.

Cathryn.

Would she hate him for this?
