1 Bai Shen

When Bai Shen woke up, the first thing he did was brush his teeth and wash his face.

It seemed to be another regular morning, but that was far from the truth.

Since he was young, Bai Shen was talented in two things; stealing, and predicting the future.

'Man... I only have a few days until the apocalypse begins. My damn attributes also stopped increasing. What should I do?'

His ability to predict the future was a random thing that activated once a month or so, maybe even a few times per month.

But last month when his 'prediction' kicked in, the 18-years old Bai Shen was stunned by what he saw.

It turned out that a few weeks later, Earth was going to face a huge challenge.

Apocalypse.

Bai Shen saw some images of people transforming into zombies, animals becoming some sort of mutants, almost as if...evolving.

It was also at that moment that he saw a screen flashing before his retina. It showed some strange panels with some text.

After that day, a few weeks passed, and there was less than ten days until the eventful day.

'It's Li Meixue, what does she want?'

Hesitating for a while, Bai Shen decided to answer the call.

"What's the matter, Xue?" He calmly asked as soon as he answered.

Li Meixue was his childhood friend, so he already knew how to talk to her...not.

"What's the matter you say...? Where are you? How could you skip classes for two weeks!" From her tone, Li Meixue was extremely pissed off at Bai Shen.

"I'm... Don't worry, I'll come to school next week." Saying so, Bai Shen quickly closed the call, before angry Xue could say anything else.

'He hung up on me. He's sooo dead...' Thinking so, Li Meixue got back to her class, but before she could take a seat, someone bumped into her.

"Ah! Meixue, I'm sorry!" It was fatty Jiang, who tried to go to the bathroom before class started.

"It's okay Fatty. I just talked with Shen, he said he won't come to school only next week." Li Meixue couldn't get mad at Fatty Jiang, the two of them were childhood friends of Shen.

"You talked with Shen?! How?! He's been avoiding me lately... I-Is it because he likes you, Meixue?"

Scratching his head as he asked this, Fatty Jiang was at a loss for words.

Meanwhile, Li Meixue's face was as red as a tomato, "W-What do you mean he likes me?! That idiot can't possibly like me... I-I mean! I can't possibly allow such a guy to like me!"

Despite her words, Li Meixue actually had a crush on Bai Shen. He was not only her childhood friend, but when it mattered; he was always there for her.

Bai Shen prepared a few things before throwing them inside his backpack, he also took a few knives and placed them inside.

It was a slim sword, resembling a katana. Bai Shen specifically choose it, because it was very easy to use; and also as light as a feather.

Since he knew about the apocalyose in advance, he made some preparations; that included buying some weapons and armors that he could wear.

Not to mention his provisions that could make everyone speechless. He probably had enough food to feed 20 people for 50 years.

He wasn't in Shanghai right now, where he was born; Bai Shen was actually in a small village that his rich parents bought before dying; they wanted to transform it into a city.

But then misfortune struck, and they lost everything in a single night.

It was a car accident, one caused by his drunk father that didn't care about his condition and decided to drive his luxurious car after getting drunk at a party.

Bai Shen didn't really care about his father, he was always beating him and his mother when he was drunk.

But... 'Mom was innocent, why drag her into this?' Sighing once again, Bai Shen shook his head and decided on his next course of actions.

He was going to train for a week inside the mountains, behind the village his parents wanted to build a city on.

Money wasn't a problem to him, especially because his inheritance was close to 30.000.000$.

After selling the other buildings and cars owned by his parents, Bai Shen only kept the villa he was currently in, and the mansion he grew up in Shanghai.

This was because he attended a prestigious school there, so it would be easier to move around.

'Plus, Xue and Fatty Jiang are also from Shanghai. It would be easier to see them again, at least until the apocalypse begins...'

Not wasting time anymore, Bai Shen took his sword and left for the forest.

He was currently in Guangzhou and only had around a week before he needed to return back to Shanghai, which was about 1,200 kilometers away, and inform Li Meixue and Fatty Jiang about the apocalypse.

Even though he was 100% sure they won't believe him.

'Worst comes to worst, I'll just knock them unconscious and drag them here.'

Wearing a smile on his face, Bai Shen confidently stepped inside the forest.

He won't hold back, nothing could stop him from getting stronger and protecting those close to him.
