Chapter 1: Lin Hang and Liu Ruyan

"Xiao Lin, this month is about to end! The rent for last month haven't been piad yet. This brother knows that you are having a difficult time, but who is not struggling nowadays. If you can't pay the rent for the next two days, you have to move out."

"Yes, brother Tie, tomorrow I will definitely send the money on your card!" Lin Hang smiled as he hung up the phone then sighed as he entered the room.

"Okay, Calm down! Don't be angry!" Liu Ruyan smiled, "Lin Hang, why are you looking for a job again? You got fired again?"

Lin Hang and Liu Ruyan weren't familiar with each other, and don't usually talk about these issues. Hearing these, He couldn't help but feel that this woman is paying attention to himself in secret.

Lin Hang didn't have any relatives or friends in Huicheng that he could talk to, and since he was in a bad mood today he simply chatted with Liu Ruyan.

Lin Hang had been working as a waiter in a bar for the past six months before today. Yesterday he had an argument with his boss, so he was fired once again.

As Liu Ruyan move to get a drink, Lin Hang glanced around house. The apartment building Lin Hang lives in has more than ten rooms on each floor.

The layout of the rooms is basically the same, one bedroom, one living room, one kitchen and one bathroom, but the decoration style depends on the residents' choice.

Lin Hang's room only had some basic necessities, and Liu Ruyan's room made Lin Hang understand how far apart people were.

"Here!" Liu Ruyan said as she handed him a coke.

Lin Hang took and opened it then took a sip as he exclaimed, "I didn't expect you to be so rich!"

"Hayaa~, the old man in the family is rich, since you're having a hard time, should I lend you some money to spend these months?" Liu Ruyan asked with a smile.

Lin Hang originally wanted to refuse, but somehow his words got stuck at his throat.

Liu Ruyan asked his number and sent 2,000 RMB to Lin Hang's account. Lin Hang glanced at his phone and said sincerely, "Thanks, I will pay you back in two months."

While they were chatting, a black figure suddenly rushed in from the window, as a sword shone whith a deadly luster as it headed towards Liu Ruyan.

Lin Hang was shocked by this sudden turn of events. He pushed Liu Ruyan away, seeing this scene the black figure was a bit surprised.

"This person could actually react." The black figure thought as he continued to stab towards Liu Ruyan.

With a bang, the shadow fell straight to the ground, as his figure were revealed. He was a skinny man wearing tight black clothes and a black mask.

At this moment, his legs were bound by vines, as he was laid to the ground. Things weren't over yet as in the next moment the vines grew longer until they wrap the man in a zongzi shape and hang him upside down.

"You dared to come and kill me alone when you haven't even reach the acquired realm?" Liu Ruyan's face was cold.

"It's troublesome now. Now that Lin Hang have seen it, what should I do?" Liu Ruyan thought as he scramble for idea.

When Liu Ruyan was distracted, the black figure unexpectedly stretched out a scimitar under his feet to cut the vines.

The moment he landed, within a second, the rest of the vines on his body were all cut off.

He knew he was not Liu Ruyan opponent.

For the present, Liu Ruyan knew her opponent would be smart enough to retreat, only to see the man picked a dagger from his cuff and shot it at Lin Hang. Then, without looking at the result, he jumped out of the window without without hesitation, as he disappeared into the darkness of the night.

Liu Ruyan reacted a bit slowly because of distraction. With a powerful force, the dagger shot directly through Lin Hang's right chest, as he was knocked to the ground.

Liu Ruyan hurried over to help Lin Hang, but seeing that Lin Hang had passed out. Liu Ruyan raised her hand as a green light glowed from her hand, pressing on Lin Hang's wound.

Half an hour later, Liu Ruyan collapsed on the sofa. The sound of Lin Hang's steady breathing sounded beside her. The wound the size of a table tennis ball gone, only the big hole in the clothes left as a mark of it happening.

"Fortunately, this kid has good physique, otherwise I would be exhausted to death." Liu Ruyan let out a sigh of relief. "If something happens to this kid, how can I explain it to my sister-in-law?"

Early the next morning, the dazzling sunlight shone from the window, as Lin Hang opened his heavy eyes.

"Was it a dream?" Lin Hang shook his head to woke himself further, as he stood up, only to fall on the bed again.

"Don't move yet! You are currently very weak!" Liu Ruyan walked in with a bowl of porridge.

Lin Hang was shocked, as everything that happened last night were real, and the big hole in his clothes was the best evidence.

"Eat some porridge first. I added some ginseng to replenish your energy." Liu Ruyan spooned the porridge and fed it to Lin Hang.

Soon after finishing the porridge, Liu Ruyan was about to head out but was stopped by Lin Hang, "Shouldn't you explain what happened last night?"

Liu Ruyan stopped for a second then continued to kitchen, then came back and sat at the edge of the bed saying, "If you have any questions, please ask."

"What are you people?" This is what Lin Hang's was most concern about.
