2 The Honored One Has Requested Your Presence

Not knowing who to blame for his crappy situation, Alistar sighed before muttering. "Was a peaceful life too much to ask for?"

Alistar soon turned to look at the saddened kids behind him. Some had reddened eyes, others could be seen with a sorrowful expression, while a few straight out balled their eyes out.

"I guess I'll blame Karma." Alistar shrugged, staring at them for a while before opening the door with a bitter smile on his face.

Click.

Immediately closing the door behind him, Alistar put his hands into his pockets with the same bitter smile on his face.

"What's wrong Alistar." A girl asked after seeing Alistar's expression.

She had long brown hair that was packed in a high ponytail, yellow gem-like eyes, an oval face, small pink lips, beige-colored skin, and thin brown eyebrows. Despite her young age, she was a beauty who would make men of all ages look at her.

Unfazed by the beauty in front of him, Alistar didn't bother to answer her question and said with his bitter smile getting wider. "I guess I'll be following you to Azurewind City."

When she was an arm's length away from him, Alistar placed his hand on her head before stroking it back and forth like he was petting a cat.

Hitting his hand away, she said. "I'll take that as you're going to Awaken."

She was smart enough to know what Alistar meant since she was also going to Awaken and after staying with him for a while she could easily understand what he was saying no matter how he phrased it.

"Sigh..." Alistar sighed, clenching his hand that she hit away he muttered. "You've changed so much... Hazel."

He said the last word looking deeply into her yellow eyes before placing his hand back in his pocket and walking towards his room. He remembered how close they were when he first came here and recently, the distance between them just kept increasing.

"Where's Sylvia?" After placing a foot on the stairs, Alistar asked Hazel with a calm tone —sounding as if her change in attitude didn't affect him.

Honestly, it didn't bother him that her personality had changed. If she wanted to be close to him she wouldn't have had an attitude change and he wasn't the type that would be saddened by a change in his friend's personality.

"Where's Sylvia?" Alistar repeated his question after not hearing her respond.

Although she looked lost in thought, Alistar preferred it if she told him the whereabouts of the only person he truly cared for before she began thinking.

"Oh... She's taking a nap along with the other children." Pulled out of her thoughts by Alistar's question, Hazel replied while staring into Alistar's amber-colored eyes.

Hearing her words, Alistar responded with a nod before proceeding to climb the stairs and enter his room.

Click.

After Alistar locked the door behind him, he went towards his bed before plopping down on it.

The room was big enough to contain only a single person. It looked rather lacking as its walls were left unpainted showing the bricks that had been used to build it, the floor was made from wood that let out a creak no matter how light what touched it was, the bed was about 1.2 meters wide, and lacked a frame so that the extra weight won't make the old wooden floor give in.

"Sigh..." Alistar sighed, turning to look at the ceiling and staring at it for a while before placing his hands behind his head.

"I guess I'll just go with the flow."

Quickly coming to terms that he was chosen, he murmured under his breath. "Status."

As if a spell had been cast, a monotonous voice that lacked every trace of emotions replied to him.

'You have to know the reasons why you obtained The Interface before you will be able to use it.'

'Proceed.' Alistar said within himself after seeing The Interface disregard his words.

He found it annoying to learn what was already common knowledge to everyone in the Universe. Heck, what The Interface would show you when it first appeared was already written down in the history books. But for some reason, The Interface made you learn it even when you knew it.

'Congrats on getting the chance to represent your Race or Yourself in Heaven's Dimension. According to the period of maturity for your Race, you'd be transported to Heaven's Dimension when you are fifteen years old. Or more precisely, when you are fifteen but during the Winter Solstice and return a week after New Year.'

'To be transported to Heaven's Dimension, you will have to cross Heaven's Gate which will increase your strength so that you will be able to survive and return your body to its normal form. For example, If you are missing a limb it'll regrow, you will regain your sight if you are blind.'

'Before you can cross Heaven's Gate, you need to have Awakened due to your Race's Cultivation System that can't function without it. And if you have not, you will be subjected to a forced Awakening which might either cripple you, break you, or straight out kill you.'

'You can choose either to represent Yourself, your Race, or your Planet in Heaven's Dimension. It's advised that you choose your Race or Planet so that you can obtain more rewards but the choice is yours to make. And it's after crossing Heaven's Gate that you would be able to choose which to represent.'

'There are...'

The Interface's monotonous voice kept resounding in Alistar's head as several rows of texts materialized in front of him.

Normally, Alistar's brain would've exploded upon being made to process that much information but with The Interface fusing with his mind he was able to process it at the price of a mild headache.

After The Interface was done with all it wanted to tell him, Alistar sat up before massaging his temple with his fingers.

He remained seated at the edge of his bed for about five minutes, simplifying the info he received to the point even a seven-year-old would understand it.

And his reason for doing that? To find loopholes obviously. Whether he was too expectant in finding loopholes from those texts that had been read by more than a billion people or was dense enough to think that The Interface would leave such a flaw no one knew apart from Alistar.

Heaving a sigh, Alistar ran his hand through his short black hair before closing his eyes. Trying to relieve the nasty headache that plagued him after stressing his brain too much.

"Status," Alistar said about five seconds later with his eyes slowly opening.

And just as he expected, the Interface heeded his command and a transparent blue screen that was filled with weird-looking words and numbers slowly appeared in front of him.

But just when it was about to completely materialize, it got replaced by a golden screen with texts that would send even the strongest Dragon in the Universe shivering in fright.

[The Honored One has requested your presence. To meet with him, just say 'I approve'.]

"I guess whoever rules this Universe is finally aware of my existence," Alistar said with a bitter smile on his face.

With his identity as a Reincarnator, Alistar was aware that there was a chance that The Honored One wanted to finally get rid of the pest in its Universe.

"Whatever, it's pointless to think about what a being like him would plan to discuss with me."

Deciding to stop thinking about why The Honored One bothered to invite him for tea when he could make him appear with the snap of a finger, Alistar accepted his fate and said. "I approve."
