Twin's Reunion, Part 5

Chapter 12: Twin's Reunion, Part 5

"Well, that was interesting," the demon said as he approached Nora. He lifted her again, grasping her head. Despite their similar height, he brought her closer to his face, scrutinizing her features intently. "You look familiar. Are you perhaps related to the body I'm possessing?"

Now face to face with the demon, Nora noticed the striking resemblance between him and herself, except for his grayish hair. "I...don't know you," Nora stuttered, feeling the lingering pain in her stomach.

The demon's eyes narrowed as he leaned in closer, his voice dripping with intrigue. "You may not know me, but I certainly know you, little one. There's a connection between us, one that even you cannot deny."

Nora's heart pounded in her chest as she stared back at the demon, a mixture of fear and confusion clouding her thoughts. "I don't understand," she whispered, her voice trembling. "What connection could there possibly be between us?"

With a sinister smirk, the demon chuckled darkly. "Ah, you'll find out soon enough," he replied cryptically. "But for now, let's have a little chat about our shared destiny, shall we?"

Nora's eyes widened with fear as she struggled against the demon's grasp, her voice wavering. "I-I won't be a part of whatever twisted plan you have! Let me go!"

The demon's grip tightened, his expression darkening. "Oh, but you already are a part of it, whether you like it or not," he growled, his voice laced with menace. "You hold the key to unlocking my true power, and I won't let you slip away."

Fear coursed through Nora's veins as she stared into the demon's eyes, realizing the gravity of the situation. "What do you want from me?" she demanded, her voice trembling.

The demon's lips curled into a sinister grin. "Everything," he replied ominously. "Your mind, your body, your very soul. You belong to me now, and there's no escape."

As he said this, his eyes suddenly turned white and began to glow with a brilliant light.

Lamy and Camila, witnessing the scene, had their eyes almost bulging out of their sockets. This was a very familiar sight to them, known only by those within the Mansion.

"How... how could this be possible?" exclaimed Camila.

"Oh, Goddess," gasped Lamy.

The demon knew how to activate the bloodline abilities of the four houses. This implies that the original demon who possessed Noel already possessed knowledge of confidential information about the Houses and had been lurking in the Mansion for who knows how many years.

This shocking revelation hit them like a bolt of lightning. The Family, who prided themselves as the Sword and Shield of the Kingdom, had their main base infiltrated by a demon. If this were to be known outside, the reputation they had built over the centuries would collapse in a matter of days.

While their power wouldn't be significantly affected, as a noble family and a Marquis rivaling even Arch Dukes, their standing would not be the same again.

"Lamy, can you still move?" As a member of the family and directly connected to the event, if her mother were to find out, hell would surely await her upon her return. Thinking about the gruesome exercise that would be added to her training sent shivers down her spine, a sensation so dreaded that she would rather die than endure it.

"Barely," Lamy replied with a strained expression.

Camila racked her brain, searching for ways to escape the situation and rid themselves of the demon. Suddenly, a thought crossed her mind—she remembered the tower in the Talia House that had the ability to envelop the area in darkness.

"Do you know any functions that the tower has?" Camila asked Lamy.

"I'm sorry, I don't know," Lamy replied, her expression filled with despair.

A look of frustration crossed Camila's face. Of course, a servant wouldn't know such things. At this point, she felt resigned to her fate. With nothing to do but wait for their demise, Camila accepted her situation and let her thoughts wander aimlessly.

'I live such an unfair life,' Camila chuckled wryly to herself, recalling her past. The only reason she came to this place was to escape the brutal ways of her house. At times, she wondered what it would be like to be born as a normal commoner.

Thinking of the things she could do and the places she could visit was like a dream to her. She long for the freedom to decide the future for herself. That was why she made a firm decision to leave the house.

Camila suddenly noticed something strange. She looked at her shadow but didn't see anything wrong until she heard a voice.

"Hi," the voice said, sounding hollow.

Confused, Camila looked around but couldn't see anyone speaking.

"Over here, silly," the hollow voice chimed in once more.

Camila couldn't believe her eyes. Her own shadow was waving at her and speaking to her.

Dumbfounded, thinking she might be going crazy she responded. "Um, hi."

Their conversation was abruptly halted by a piercing scream of agony that filled the room.

"N-no... Please, stop!" Nora cried out in terror as her eyes also started to glow with white light, feeling as if her very soul was being drained away.

The demon emitting demonic aura around his body. The aura started to enveloped both Nora and the demon, forming a sinister cocoon. It pressed in on her, a suffocating weight that squeezed her chest and crushed her spirit.

Nora's screams echoed in the chamber, drowned out by the encroaching darkness. She felt herself being pulled deeper into the cocoon, her body wracked with never felt before pain. Each passing moment seemed to intensify her suffering, her body getting crush and deformed.

Tears filled Lamy's eyes as she witnessed the scene before her, memories flooding her mind. She recalled the twins from their earliest days to their growth over the years, all leading up to this tragic moment. The loss of the children she had cared for deeply struck her to the core, and something inside her broke. Tears blurred her vision as she struggled with the overwhelming weight of her emotions.

Meanwhile, Camila's hand tightened into a fist, a small drop of blood staining the floor.

In the chamber of the tower, a dark crimson cocoon pulsed ominously, casting an eerie glow throughout the room. There was a strong stench of blood that permeated the air, along with a slight sweet smell caused by the destroyed poisonous plants of the once beautiful garden.
