Nora's Awakening

Chapter 3: Nora's Awakening

Two years have passed since my discovery of magic in this world. Under my new name, Noel Vier Levasti, I embraced my position as the seventh son of the esteemed Levasti Family, a noble lineage that held the coveted title of Marquis and governed over half the territory in this region.

I found myself in a big room full of toys, with three people present: me, the maid with blue hair, and my twin sister Nora. Instead of playing nicely, Nora kept throwing dolls at me, trying to bother me.

The moment I arrived in this world, all sense of logic and reason seemed to vanish into thin air. I found myself facing a twin sister consumed by violence, and the incomprehensible passage of time.

Though I was just two years old, time passed differently in this place. Here, each month lasted 60 days, and a year had 20 months, making it a total of 1200 days per year, much more than Earth's 365 days. If I were to compare it to Earth years I would've already be six years old now.

I found out when It was during my 16th month here, I started picking up bits of the language by watching my mother and the servants interact. Even though I couldn't understand what they were saying, I tried to guess based on their gestures and lip movements. With not much else to do except eat, sleep, play, and shit, I spent most my time observing the beautiful and colorful people around me.

Now, however, I can understand and engage in a simple conversation if I choose to, but I didn't want to attract attention to myself at this early stage because I didn't want to be perceived weirdly by the people around me. Definitely, not because I'm enjoying my life.

I mean can you blame me? Beautiful ladies cradling me in their arms, treating me as if I'm the most precious existence in their life. Not to mention I get to touch things that weren't supposed to be, and get away with it. Of course not intentionally!

Alas, if only good things existed in this world. As I pondered this, a ball came crashing down on my face.

BAM

That's it! I've done my best to restrain myself from completely losing it and beating the hell out of this ba-

Before I could complete my thought, a large ball, the size of a basketball, hurtled towards me. Reacting swiftly, I rolled onto the ground, narrowly avoiding its impact. The surge of adrenaline flooded my veins as anger surged within me.

"You %&/% b*tch!" I roared at the top of my lungs, my gaze fixed fiercely upon Nora.

The blue-haired maid, engrossed in her book, was startled by the noise. With a quick motion, she turned her attention towards us, curious about the commotion.

I quickly shifted gears, and rolled on the ground and feigned an adorable display. I waved my tiny hands at the blue-haired maid, trying to divert attention from the earlier outburst.

'Just smile and wave,' I thought to myself, trying to maintain a calm demeanor as the maid scanned the chaotic scene. Her eyes took in the scattered toys and Nora, who was still in the midst of throwing toys in my direction.

Taking a deep breath, I decided to focus on the present moment. I flashed a friendly smile and waved at the maid, silently conveying my assurance that everything was under control, despite the mess and the antics of my mischievous twin sister. It was essential to remain composed and handle the situation with care.

Thankfully, I had used my native language while I was still on Earth; otherwise, I would have been exposed.

Nora, sensing my lack of interest in playing with her, crawled away to a corner of the room. This unexpected change in her behavior surprised me. Normally, she would persistently try to provoke me by sticking her tongue out whenever I scolded her.

I couldn't help but wonder why she suddenly changed her behavior. Maybe she realized her usual tricks weren't working on me. Or perhaps she just wanted some time alone. Whatever the reason, I felt relieved to have a break from her constant attacks, at least for a moment.

The maid suddenly snapped her attention to something and her eyes widened in alarm, causing the book in her hand to fall. Curious, I followed her gaze and found Nora pouting, seemingly up to her usual antics.

'What is this crazy baby doing now?'

Without warning, the maid swiftly grabbed me and began chanting a mysterious incantation:

"From depths serene, waters rise,

A shield to guard, a tranquil guise.

Barrier firm, waves stand tall,

Protect and repel, heed my call."

As she spoke, two blue rings materialized around her, and water surged forth from the circles, enveloping us in a protective embrace.

Then, a sudden and deafening bang reverberated through the air, like an explosion akin to a grenade. The noise was so loud that it felt like my ears were about to burst. The ringing sensation overwhelmed me, but I fought to maintain my composure. Despite my frustration towards Nora, she was still my sister, and I couldn't let her come to harm. Before losing consciousness, I had to make sure she was safe.

As the dust settled, I surveyed the aftermath. There it was, the sight I had dreamt about countless nights, unable to sleep as it consumed my thoughts.

A wall lay in ruins, and the servants scurried about in a state of alarm. Nora, on the other hand, was peacefully asleep. However, my gaze was fixated on what hovered above her—a red crimson ring, floating ominously in the air.

Oliver, a butler serving the Vier House, lamented in his heart as he looked at the beautiful garden.

The garden was made by her master, the person he swore to serve for the rest of his life… was dead.

They received shocking news that rocked the entire Kingdom: an Eighth Class Imperial Soldier was spotted at the Kingdom's internal border and launched an attack on Clavier Fortress, belonging to the Levasti Territory. Despite the highest-ranking mage at the fortress being sixth class, they managed to repel the intruder. However, many casualties were sustained during the battle, including a member of the Levasti Family who played a crucial role in the defense, forcefully repelling the Imperial Soldiers.

Overcome with grief, Oliver stood amidst the vibrant beauty of the garden, his heart heavy with sorrow. Each blossom and lush greenery held memories of the woman he had dedicated his life to serving – Lia Vier Levasti. She had been his only solace in this cruel world, the only person who had extended her hand and offered him a chance at redemption.

But now, Lia was gone, her life cut short by an unforeseen tragedy. Oliver couldn't help but feel a profound sense of loss and emptiness. He had promised to be by her side, to serve her faithfully, yet fate had cruelly snatched her away.

As he gazed at the garden, Oliver couldn't help but be reminded of the conversations they had shared, the laughter that had once filled the air. It was as if the flowers whispered their memories, their petals capturing the essence of Lia's spirit.

The weight of his grief threatened to overwhelm him. How could he carry on without her guidance and companionship? But then, Oliver's determination resurfaced, fueled by the vow he had made to Lia. He would honor her memory by serving the two precious existence she left in this world.

With a heavy heart, Oliver pressed on, his steps carrying him through the familiar halls of Levasti House. The echoes of his sorrow followed him, but within the depths of his grief, he found a renewed sense of purpose. He would be the pillar of strength, the unwavering presence that her children needed in their time of mourning.

As he walked through the bustling halls, Oliver noticed the other servants frantically running about, creating a commotion. Intrigued, he approached one of the maids and inquired, "What's all this racket about?"

The maid's eyes widened with excitement as she responded, "Sir Oliver, it's Lady Nora! She has manifested!"

Another nearby maid chimed in, her voice filled with awe, "I saw it too! There was a crimson ring floating above her head"

Dumbfounded by the revelation, Oliver couldn't believe what he was hearing. Lady Nora was barely two years old, yet they were claiming that she had already manifested a ring. It seemed like an absurd and sick joke to him. He couldn't help but question the reality of the situation and the implications it held for the world.

"Lead me the way, now!"
