19 Two idiots going to their own death

It was midnight and everyone was sleeping except two who were in the duty of night watch at that night.

"Hey, What time is it?" One of them asked.

"Its 2:27 right now."

"The times becomes slow everytime I am on the night watch."

"Well, its probably true for the others too."

"Hey wanna go outside?" Asked the first guy.

"Are you out of your mind? Isn't it dangerous outside? What if we get attacked by zombies?" Said the second person.

"I don't think its that dangerous. Didn't you see those two newcomers? They were fine outside. I think it isn't as dangerous as others thinks it to be."

"But-- "

The second guy was about to say something when the first guy cut in between his words.

"Well if don't want to go then I will go alone." Said the first person as he started to go towards the door.

"What about the night watch?"

"Don't care. Its not like something will happen suddenly when nothing has happened for past week."(He just jinxed it)

"Well if you say so. Wait, I will coming too."

They thought that they will be safe outside believing that Kelvin and Sara were able to come because it was not as dangerous as they thought.

But they never thought that those were special.

After coming out of the underground basement they went to the first floor.

"See there aren't many zombies here."

When they went to look they didn't see as many zombies as John claimed it to be.

Though it was because Kelvin had ordered the zombies to make a way for him that there aren't that many of them where they used to be. They have spread out.

"Hey wanna go to the rooftop and look outside?" asked the first person

"Ok."

Then they started going to the rooftop.

But they made a mistake, instead of using the stairs for the staffs they used the main stairs.

When they were at the 7th floor right below the roof top, they heard a sound.

"Did you hear that?"

"Yes. It sound like heavy footsteps."

"Let's go see what it it." Said the first guy.

"But what if..."

"Ahh, come on. If you don't wanna go I will leave you behind."

Then they started heading towards where the sound come from.

After walking for a few minutes they reached a very large clothing store.

They couldn't see much inside since it was dark.

The survivors had turned of the power of the whole mall except the basement area to save electricity.

They were also idiots that they didn't bring a torch light with them.

Though the second person was hesitant to go inside the first person started going. So the second person had to go since he was afraid to be alone.

When they were inside the store they suddenly felt that there was someone behind them.

But when they turned around they saw nothing.

"Hey, didn't you felt someone was behind us?" The first guy asked the second guy.

But there was no response.

When the first guy didn't hear any response he turned to the side where the second guy stood.

But the second guy was not there.

"Hey where did you go? It isn't the time to play pranks? Come out now!" The first guy yelled.

Still there wasn't any response.

*swosh*

Suddenly he heard the sound of something moving in high speed.

He then turned to where the sound came from. But there was still nothing.

But suddenly he felt that something pierced through his back.

When he moved his sight to his chest he saw a hand with sharp nails coming out of his chest.

Then the feeling of great pain came.

But he couldn't even let out a scream as his head fell from his body and he died.

Behind he was a monster double the size of a human.

It had two long legs bulging with muscles and two long hand with long sharp nails or more like claws.

It was another mutant.

It had seen them from beginning when they came to the top floor from the stairs.

It had lured them here and killed them.

After killing them the mutant headed towards the stair from where these two had come from and moved down stairs.

At this time our protagonist was still sleeping.

His mood was a bit down since he couldn't get lovey-dovey with Sara since there are other people there.

He didn't know what was going on outside and that the idiots are missing, not that he cared.

Even the others who were staying at the basement shelter didn't know what was going on. Until John woke up.

It was his usual habit, he would always wake at the middle of the night ever since zombie apocalypse started.

After waking up he looked around. He was still half asleep so he didn't notice immediately.

After a few moments he noticed that no one on the night watch. He thought that the two who were on night watch fell asleep.

But he didn't find them in room when he searched for them.

Then he saw that the door of the basement was unlocked.
