23 Caught Red-Handed

Miguel stopped in his tracks as he looked at the man in front of him.

'Marcel...' he muttered under his breath as he prepared to summon the grimoire and Aaliyah in case a fight broke out.

Carlota and Gasper were essentially Marcel's family. He must have already known that he was the one who killed Jonas, and considering what happened earlier, Miguel kind of realized why he was here.

However, contrary to his expectations, Marcel did not attack.

Instead, he sighed and stated, "Miguel, just let them off the hook this time. In exchange, I'll make sure that your mom will live peacefully in the village. Just treat this as me owing you a favor as well."

If it were before, Marcel would surely not be talking like this. Although he valued Miguel's potential, Gasper was his nephew after all.

When he guessed that Miguel was the one who killed Jonas, Marcel also speculated that Miguel was definitely hiding his abilities. For him to be able to kill Jonas even though he just recently awakened, this just means that he actually has an Innate Skill and maybe an Innate Beast and a powerful one at that.

When he saw Miguel materializing out of the shadows earlier, he became even more firm in his speculation. At that moment, he was no longer sure whether he could neutralize Miguel or even stop him from killing Carlota and Gasper.

With that in mind, he did not dare to risk it and completely fall out with Miguel. Hence, he decided to use his mother as leverage. Like he thought last time, as long as his mother was in the village, Miguel would not be able to betray the Red Family just like that.

Meanwhile, hearing his words, Miguel simply turned around as he left some words: "Only this time. Also, you better keep your words. Else, not only you, if something happens to my mother, I'll make sure that the Red Family won't be able to live in peace."

His figure disappeared among the shadows as Marcel looked at him with a twitching mouth. Cold sweats broke down his back as he heard the threat behind his words.

Although Marcel thought that his words were truly arrogant, he could not help but think that they would probably come true if he did not take care of Sara.

In the end, Marcel could only sigh in defeat as he took a last glance at the house of Carlota and Gasper before he made his way back to the manor.

Miguel rushed back to the servant quarters after he was caught red-handed by Marcel. 

He did not expect Marcel to intercept him there, so he could only postpone his plans about killing No. 2 and No. 3.

This made him realize that Sara could not be left in this village for long.

He thought for a moment and guessed that he might need more drops of Origin Energy this time in order for him to reach the next stage of the Cleansing Realm. After all, his body has already been cleansed twice, each time with a single drop of Origin Energy, and each time he would break through.
