4) Having a pet gets you all the good gossip

Fire Grass Park is a high end pet park. Not only because of the high maintenance. It is a rather special park because it's were anyone that has a pet can go.

It's a treasure trove of quality pet care knowledge. You can learn things from where the best breeders are to the exact place to buy the perfect food.

People even come here before they get a pet to talk to the experts. No person that mistreats their pet can come here.

Technically they can, it just won't go well.

Only trained and well mannered pets may enter the unleashed gated area.

That's were the real business in this park happens. Many talks and deals happen when walking ones pet.

Even marriage talks have begun and ended because of pets. It may seem strange, it doesn't make it any less fun to watch.

Many nobles have tried to cause trouble. Saying the unleashed area should be for every pet. Or no commoner in the park. They only fell on deaf ears due to the tightness of the community. Here social things such as nobility don't matter. Taking care of you pet does.

I headed over to the unleashed area. Blobbles has quite a few friends in this park. Especially the unleashed area.

I've had Blobbles for many years so it's only natural that we met the standards. Though I don't engage in the deals that go down, sometimes it's just fun to watch.

I'm more here for the miserable housewives that have weird pets to fill their loneliness.

One has a Blob like me. It's barely taller than me at it's smallest. It's biggest size was an average sized house. Though that Blob is a total pushover named Tiny. We were all worried Blobbles would bully them.

Though Blobbles just runs around them endlessly while Tiny just sits there purring. Sometimes Blobbles will climb on top of them to tease over pets that are afraid of Tiny.

"Hey Chi Chi! Get over here!" Yelled the man hater Bundala. Though she has good reason to hate men. Her ex Husband tried to boil one of her kids alive.

I chuckled as I unleashed Blobbles. Blobbles immediately abandoned me. Man, they used to be so clingy. All grown up now.

I bounded over to the group of married, divorced, or suspiciously widowed woman. They are very odd bunch. Though a lot of fun.

"Bizmith and their husband, they are buying another mansion. How in the world are they getting the money for this." Bundala or Bun said keying me into the conversation.

Thankfully she considered me to be an exception to her man hating ness. Mostly cause I don't wanna kill her children.

I snorted at what see said. Bizmith is the wife of a Baron. Though nobles are normally richer than commoners, they seem unreasonably so lately.

"From what I heard the clothing business they are running is the same as it was. It makes them money. Not that much money." I said.

It's true. They are planning to expand once summer end, but not till. Plus expanding costs a lot of money. Money you don't make till the expansion opens.

"See I told you." Said Bun taking money from some of the girls. This is very common. They will bet on what not only what I'll say but about each other.

Though then she handed the money to me. "Happy birthday Chi Chi!" She said.

I smiled accepting her gift. It was not a large amount, certainly nothing to scoff at. Probably enough for a cake though.

The other in the group also congratulated me with words, as well as a couple other people in other groups. No other gifts was given to me.

Although people here are friendly to me we are not friends. Our only connection is our pets. I am not one they can mutually benefit from so I have no real connection to this people.

If me and Blobbles never showed up again, we wouldn't even be brought up in conversation.

I stayed for a bit chatting about this and that. Offering my insite from talking to other groups. Blobbles played with the other unleashed pets.

As the sun was reaching its peak we left. I had decided to also get a small cake for tonight.

I'm going to share a meal with Grandma. She insisted me calling her that after her daughter almost killed me. Also cause I help her out a lot, we naturally became close.

Who am I to deny and old woman's wish.

I skipped a long with Blobbles. I waved and greet people as we walked by.

I antique shop is nearby, so I happen to know a lot of the other shop keepers. Not to mention the guards and some of the regular customers.

I am an undeniable extrovert. Although I don't have as much charm as I thought, according to the system. I still have more Charisma than Strength.

Charm isn't all that important though. People just call me friendly and helpful. A kind young man. I feel that has its own weight in gold.

I reached a decent bakery. I always pass this place on my way the work. The baker is not that friendly. Otherwise they would be more popular.

They would also jack the prices. Though they would still be worth the price. Just not something I could afford.

I entered the bell on the door ringing. The store was enveloped in warmth and delicious smells. There was no one but me and the cross looking baker.

I walked straight to the counter. "I need one small cake. Vanilla with strawberries on top please."

I place the money on the counter smiling. He scoffs rolling his eyes, before carefully counting the money.

Not a lot of commoners can afford cake right now.

That is because sugar is hard to come by right now. This Kingdom needs to import it from another one. That Kingdom and this Kingdom is having a hard time getting along. So sugar is just very expensive.

Which is why this one cake is not the same price as before. I'm just glad he has the ingredients to make one.

The baker swiped the money and wrote something down on a small piece of paper. "Come back in two hours."

He handed me the receipt and walked away.

I smiled brightly walking out. This is gonna be a tasty Birthday.
