21 Chapter-21

Kyle walked towards the other weapon stack where training weapons made of wood were placed. He took a single word that seemed to be out of the stack as it had an appearance that was not similar to any weapon placed there.

It was a wooden Katana.

Kyle picked it up and felt a connection forming with the Wooden Katana, but it was weaker than the real Katana.

Meanwhile, Captain Lucas walked beside Lilliana whose eyes were gazing at Kyle and giggling. Her face looked way too charming right now, not what a kid should have.

Feeling something, Lilliana turned her gaze and saw Captain Lucas standing beside her. Having her curiosity oozing out, she asked,

"Did he always behave like that, Captain Lucas?"

A smile formed on Captain Lucas's face. A kind smile that a mentor showed behind his disciple's back as he grew.

"Yes, but only when it was the time to select his weapon. He always went for the real Katana, not the training one."

The three days that Kyle spent in the Training Hall had made Captain Lucas quite appreciative of him. Kyle was a hard worker, he felt happy about that. And hearing more information on Kyle made him even more appreciative of Kyle as Kyle hadn't lost his true self in the slums and do even worse act.

"Ohh..."

Lilliana was honestly surprised. For her, Kyle was even more perfect than herself. She was intelligent and talented- something she knew more than others. She know that she felt things more quickly and understood more than even some adults but even to her, Kyle was a genius.

So, hearing him making a silly mistake was a true surprise for her.

Captain Lucas shook his head seeing Lilliana's surprised look.

"No need to be surprised, he only made that mistake. There was no other mistake I could point in his work."

He had discerned Kyle and everything he did. From his training to his behavior, he observed all. Even though Kyle seemed to be hated between those trainees that were still here as due to Kyle and James, they had to run laps around the whole capital.

"I see..."

Lilliana muttered. She also felt relieved as she thought that Kyle was trying his hardest not to do anything wrong in front of her but knowing that it was not relaxed her.

Suddenly, her eyes lit up, stars appeared in her eyes when her sight wandered to the stack of weapons. She quickly turned toward Captain Lucas and asked with a smile on her face, an excited smile.

"Then, could I also train here?!"

Lilliana asked with a hopeful tone but there was also the belief in her eyes that her request would be accepted.

But what she met with was just disappointment.

Captain Lucas shook his head.

"No, Young Miss, You need to gain Lord Duke's permission."

How could Captain Lucas dare to let the only daughter of Duke train without his permission? He could do it after some talk but having permission was the best choice.

Lilliana nodded but a sad look formed on her face as she hung her head down. She was excited to learn about new things, and also to spend more time with her friend and know and do the same things he did.

Kyle also came back with a wooden katana just for his perfect size and seeing Lilliana's face hung down, he asked in a worried tone.

"What happened, My Lady?"

Lilliana lifted her head with a disappointed look on her face, with her eyes directly meeting with Kyle's. She stared at his face for a moment before answering.

"I wanted to train here too...but Captain Lucas told me to get Father's permission first..."

"It's just a small matter, My Lady."

Kyle shook his head and calmly replied making both Lilliana and Captain Lucas look at him with a curious expression. While the latter stayed silent and observed Kyle.

"What do mean by that, Kyle?"

Lilliana asked while tilting her head. Heer Father was way too over-protective of her, so how could he let his little princess train?

A small grin formed on Kyle's face before he suggested in a calm tone.

"My Lady, all you need to do is just ask Lord Duke on your birthday."

Lilliana's eyes shone in radiance. Those words of Kyle were enough for her to understand how much impact it would have on Duke if she asked for something on her birthday, especially if she had never asked for anything overboard before on any of her birthdays.

Slowly, a grin appeared on her face before she gazed at Kyle and replied in a bright tone.

"Yes! You are right!"

Captain Lucas speechlessly stared at Kyle with an expression that said, 'This boy...'

How could he not know the mind of the master he served, especially if he had gone with his master during war times? So, he knew for sure that his Master would definitely agree to Lilliana's request.

A humble smile appeared on Kyle's face as he looked at Lilliana smiling brightly, 'It seems like she is happy with my suggestion, and knowing that daughter-con of father, the answer is already Yes. And Little Lady seemed to have already understood it too...'

"It is my pleasure to be of your help, My Lady."

Kyle bowed his head. Lilliana's smiling expression changed into a troubled one. No matter what, it was still difficult for her to see Kyle behaving like a butler out of nowhere. That was the reason why she had always tried to make him do the things same as her when they were alone.

Captain Lucas shook his head seeing that, 'It seemed like it would take some time for Young Miss to get used to boy's behavior, but I hope she does get used to that with time.'

"Boy, you are done here! Let's go, you need to spar with others today!"

The moment these words left Captain Lucas' mouth, every trainee in the training hall or more like those that got punishment due to Kyle glared at him.

Kyle internally sweated, '...what did Captain Lucas mean by that?! How could I fight them?!'

Kyle panicked a little internally. It wasn't like he was scared to fight them, but more like he needed to be careful when fighting others. He can expose too many techniques. It was already a surprise to him that Captain Lucas hadn't asked for the acupuncture or pressure point trick Kyle used on his son.

But he knew that it had aroused suspicion in Captain Lucas's mind else he wouldn't be taught brawling that focused more on hand moments.

"Are you going to be alright?"

Lilliana asked worriedly. She had felt the glares that others showered Kyle with as she too was used to receiving them, so this made her worried that her friend would get hurt by others.

'No, I will save him! And if doesn't want to fight, then he doesn't need to!' She silently made her mind.

A small smile formed on Kyle's lips, 'She looks cute even with her worried expression! Yosh! I will present her with the best show!'

"Yes, My Lady, I will be alright and I will make sure to present a good show in front of you."

Kyle answered calmly and stood in his position. He was waiting for his Master's permission to go and spar with someone.

The worried expression still remained on Lilliana's face but she nodded.

"Then, please be careful."

Kyle nodded and started to walk towards the center, following behind the silent Captain Lucas who had a little smile on his face seeing the interaction between the kids.

Reaching the center of the Training Hall, Captain Lucas began looking around and screamed.

"Who is going to fight the boy?!"

Rowdy cheers erupted from those who suffered that day. Kyle sweated even more.

How could he, he who had just started training for more than 3 days fight those who had been training for years?

But he stayed firm on his belief, 'I will present Little Lady with the best show!' and motivated himself internally.
