19 Chapter-19

An envious look appeared on Lilliana's face which quickly vanished by Kyle caught in and a glint passed through his eyes. He had been observing Lilliana very attentively.

During his stay in the mansion, Kyle had seen how Lilliana usually avoided staying in the places where many servants worked. Even though she had shown that nothing mattered to her but how could it escape the eyes of an inner old man like Kyle.

He had raised many kids, not as intelligent as Lilliana but more than the majority letting him have quite a good amount of experience on how to handle them.

"I see...And what about your training? Could I visit there with you today?'

Lilliana asked in a hopeful tone. A troubled smile appeared on Kyle's face.

'...what about those that train there...they are going to make Little Lady uncomfortable, especially that James guy...'

He had no problem, on the contrary, he would be happy if his Little Lady could see and observe more things but the problem for him was those that train there. From his observation, everyone hated Lilliana except some people, so it was going to be true for the [Dungeon Squad] which made him worried.

Seeing Kyle not replying immediately like he usually did, Lilliana stared at him, and seeing his troubled smile, she felt bad.

'Looks like I can't... no problem, I don't want to cause problems for Kyle too...'

"No problem if I can't visit."

Lilliana calmly spoke, but hidden in it were guilt and sadness.

Lilliana had a childhood that no child would ever want to have. She had been showered with the stares of disgust right after her birth, no matter where she went. But with how much intelligence she was born, it became a curse to her as she never complained. She never wanted to make things difficult for her father seeing how hard he worked and for her mother who become bed sick right after giving birth to her.

On the contrary, she felt grateful for having parents who still loved her even though many bad things happened right after her birth.

"No! My Lady, don't worry too much! You could come with me after tea time, but what about your class?"

Kyle quickly shook his head. The last thing he wanted was for Lilliana to be sad. He wanted to provide her with even the little happiness he can when he is with her.

A smile formed on Lilliana's face. She had felt from her heart as she thought of Kyle thinking about her and caring for her classes.

A mischievous glint pass through her eyes, with a smug smile on her face.

"Kyle, a single day wouldn't affect much. And Madam was teaching some boring stuff anyway so we could skip!"

"What what about Lord Duke? Wouldn't he be angry for skipping classes?"

A worried expression formed on Kyle's face but internally he already knew how angry that daughter-con of Duke would be.

"I will handle that!"

Lilliana puffed her chest in pride with a smug grin on her face.

'And she knows too...how much angry her father would be.'

"Then, we will go there after our tea time, My Lady."

Kyle mentally shrugged and sat straight as he continued to sip his tea. Lilliana smiled and continued to sip her tea.

For both of them, calmness was the best. They both enjoyed each other's company.

While drinking, Kyle lifted his head and took a look at Lilliana and asked,

"My Lady, when is your awakening ceremony going to be?"

Kyle had started to call Lilliana 'My Lady' after the week as it felt more efficient and he never doubted that he would fail to become her butler at all.

Lilliana thought for a moment before answering,

"It is on the 2nd of next month, and yours is also on that date."

'huh...mine?'

"What fo mean by that, My Lady?"

Lilliana smiled.

"It means that your Awakening Ceremony is also going to be on the same day as me."

"But I wasn't informed about that."

Kyle spoke with a confused expression.

Lilliana shook her head.

"It was decided 3 days ago. I think Aunt Evangeline forgot to inform you."

'Again that name...'

Kyle nodded.

"I understand, My Lady."

Lilliana looked at Kyle with a confused expression.

"You don't want to have an awakening ceremony? You do know that it is the most important thing, for everyone who had reached 10."

Kyle shook his head. How could he not want to have his awakening ceremony?

"No, My Lady, I don't want to make it difficult for you during your ceremony."

Lilliana tilted her head and placed her cup down and looked into Kyle's eyes.

"And, my friend, explain to me, how are you going to awakening ceremony with me is going to become a problem for me?"

'...intelligence is a problem sometimes too...' Kyle silently thought.

"My Lady, I thought you may feel uncomfortable if I went with you to such an important function of your life."

Lilliana sighed hearing Kyle's response. She felt something wrong in his words, but can't pinpoint where she felt wrong.

She stood up from her chair and walked towards Kyle's chair making the black-haired boy look at her curiously.

'What is she going to do now?'

She stood in front of Kyle, and Kyle saw that hurriedly stepped down from his chair.

Lilliana stepped forward and placed her hands on Kyle's cheeks and looked into his pitch-black eyes with her abyssal black eyes.

'Little Lady looks cute like that, and her hands feel soft too... And her eyes, like obsidian...wait, let me clarify one thing- I am not a lolicon.'

"You are my friend, Lilliana D. Avarice. No need to think about what other thought of you. Just focus on me and nothing else."

Those words left the mouth of the Princess of the Dukedom Avarice, in the most serious tone she had ever used.

Kyle felt something in him, something he recognized pretty well. His desire to protect the villainess from the cruel fate she never deserved grew in him.

Kyle stepped back a little making Lilliana surprised and worried.

'Did he hate my gesture?'

This thought lingered in her heart. She know how bold her action was but her worry over her friend made her think of this as a correct way.

Kyle stepped back and got on one knee and lifted his head, looking at Lilliana's face. He slowly extended his right hand and took Lilliana's right hand, and asked in a sweet but serious tone,

"My Lady, would you let me serve you? In happiness, in sadness, in hate, in love, would you let me serve you and stand beside you in the endeavor of your life?"

A bright blush appeared on Lilliana's face, down to her neck.

'D-did he p-purposed m-me?!'

The gesture of taking a Lady's right hand in your right hand and asking to spend time with her was the noble gesture for proposal.

The one Kyle wanted was done using the left hand of the lady, not the right hand.

Lilliana stood there stupefied. With countless thoughts lingering in her heart.

Kyle patiently waited for her. He knew that what he asked me seemed cringy and too much for a child, but he followed his heart like always.

'Wait...he hadn't had his classes of etiquette like this yet, or Uncle Sebastian hadn't taught him so he mixed the gesture. He should be asking to be my butler for all of his life, not proposing me...what a fool I am to even think of Kyle proposing me...'

With her intelligence, it wasn't difficult for Lilliana to analyze what was wrong, but slight disappointment surely passed through her heart, unknown to her.

"It would be my pleasure, Sir Kyle to have someone like you as my butler."

Lilliana answered Kyle's gesture with a slight smile on her face.

"I would make sure not to disappoint you."

Kyle answered and lightly kissed Lilliana's right hand.

The girl blushed to limit again.

'D-did he j-just kissed m-me?!'

Kyle stood up and faced Lilliana who had a height similar to his. He tilted his head confusedly seeing Lilliana being a blushing mess.

Being a fool when it came to love, Kyle failed to understand the consequence of his actions.

Kyle started to wave his hands in front of the black-haired girl making her come out of her thoughts.

"Ahh!"

Lilliana yelped in surprise and stepped forward quickly but her hill got tilted on the side making her fall forward, directly on Kyle. Kyle caught Lilliana but the weight was still not enough for the black-haired boy and both of them fell on the ground.

Lilliana opened her eyes and felt something soft on her cheeks. She quickly lifted herself and looked down, only to see Kyle lying below her. She quickly stood up and Kyle also stood up as soon as possible. He had a light blush on his face, seemingly ignorable but it was still there and it didn't escape the black-haired girl's eyes.

Lilliana quickly bowed toward Kyle after cleaning her dress.

"I am sorry for that! It was my fault!"

Kyle quickly shook his multiple times and lifted Lilliana.

"My Lady, there is no need to apologize. You are making me awkward."

Lilliana lifting her head nodded, but there was something different in her eyes.

"Are you alright, My Lady?"

Kyle worriedly asked as he observed Lilliana's body. Lilliana nodded with a small smile forming on her face.

"I am alright, what about you Kyle?"

"I am alright too, My Lady."

Lilliana nodded back and looked at her table, and shook her head.

"Kyle! Let's go to the Training Hall!"

Lilliana excitedly spoke while grabbing Kyle's hand with a light blush on her face, which the black-haired boy hadn't seen.

"But what about Tea, My Lady?"

Lilliana shook her head with a small smile.

"Ignore that! Let's go!"

Kyle helplessly nodded and let Lilliana drag towards the Training Hall.

Unkown to the poor boy, a seed had been planted in the heart of the Little Lady of his.
