Rift Tower, Ejigbo

Five individuals stood before a tower that extended into the skies, the tower was coated in glass, looking like a skyscraper of some sort, but the energy it was exuding said a different story.

"Now as you all know, this is your first ascension, you will have a chance at entering the level 1 rift today. " A grey skinned being, with five arms and no legs said.

This was an alien of the Torman race, a handicapped race with a single eye at the center of their foreheads, forced to assist certain humans with whatever they needed.

"I believe you all know what to do inside and you know your teammates abilities, so no long cap. " The Torman said, leaving them at the entrance of the Rift tower.

The group marched forward confidently, reaching the base of the door less tower.

"Welcome new ascenders, please enter the portal below. " A hologram of a beautiful female assistant said, pointing at the portal which had appeared from nowhere.

All these were the technological advancements the Xlorkans had brought to humanity after crash landing in Africa.

The invasion happened so fast, using their advanced technology, it was clear that the human race was no match for the Xlorkans.

The Xlorkans despite their technology, still displayed magic like abilities thanks to their manipulation of the highly treasured Ralium energy.

In a single minute all nuclear weapons had been disabled, bullets were like water to the Xlorkans.

An all out brawl was launched against the Xlorkans, but it failed woefully, the Xlorkans didn't even need to touch humans for them to be killed.

Five hours, that was exactly how long it took for the Xlorkans to fully take over humanity, and it was only a handful of them, suffering no casualties.

They forced humanity to labour, harvesting their own natural resources, turning them into slaves.

Some were exported to other planets, where they were constantly put under harsh working conditions.

The human body was too weak to wield Ralium energy so there was no use in trying to make the soldiers, until the enhancement project was completed.

Through the use of genetic altering, humans were able to achieve a physical state, enough to withstand Ralium energy.

The richer and more influential humans, resulted to the use of Cybernetic enhancements.

The group stared at the portal, they were lined up in a straight line, with the captain in front, and the healer behind them.

*FUUUU* They all arrived beyond the portal, in a blank white room, that spanned infinitely.

"[Welcome Humans, this is the level one of the rift tower, you can choose to leave at any time.

This level is called the apocalypse, the goal is to slay all the enemies, after that, your reward would be handed to you. ]"

Transparent floating words appeared in the sky, along with the soft female voice from earlier.

The ascenders were nervous, except one who had a confident and smug look on his face.

Nova Terron was dressed in a blue trench coat, an energy blaster in his hands, a scar running down his left eye, around 6ft6, with blue eyes and azure hair.

The scenery quickly changed, and the ascenders now knew why it was called the apocalypse.

Countless humans were littered everywhere, their blood painting the street red.

Buildings had crumbled down to the ground, cars had been flipped over, and even know some of the structures were on fire.

"What's the order captain. " A beautiful girl with pink hair and eyes said panickingly.

She had a thin pink longsword extending from her hands, wearing a futuristic looking pink armor.

It was clear she was rich enough to afford the cybernetic enhancements, beautiful and rich, a poor man's dream.

"Stay close, the descenders would come attack us, I suggest we study their pattern of attack us, it's to get a glimpse of their powers first.

"Relax old man, I've got this. " Nova said, grabbing onto his blaster and charging forward.

"Nova, get back here. " The captain said, veins bulging on his face.

Immediately, strange creatures that resembled dogs appeared out of thin, chasing down Nova.

Nova wasted no time, offloading his bullets on the wave of descenders coming for him.

These breed of descenders were dog like, but were 2 meter tall, had no eyes, sharp claws and teeth, coupled with ashen fur and a horn at the center of their forehead.

Nova demonstrated his expert marksmanship, each bullet he put into the descenders, would leave a lot of damage.

"Get back her Nova, you don't even know what those things can do, I would not be the one to tell your mother that you are dead. " The captain screamed angrily.

Nova turned his back to look at the captain with a calm look on his face, "Relax captain, I'm the main character..." *Blergh*

Nova laid on the floor with blood spewing out of his mouth, he tried to move but he only noticed that his body and leg had been separated late.

Blaring sounds came from all around the rift, and the entire place began flashing red.

"[Malware detected, all ascenders are to leave the rift tower immediately. ]"

A portal opened up behind the crew, and the descenders were already after them, no one was escaping this rift.

"Quick everyone, to the portal. " The captain shouted, activating his cybernetic enhancement, allowing him to fly.

But instead of flying towards the rift, the captain was heading for one of the beasts, a blaster in his hand.

"Die you descender scu.... " Before the captain could complete, he met the same fate as Nova.

The remaining three ascenders, were already in a hot chase, Sally, the girl from earlier activated her gravity boots, allowing her to fly ahead of the remaining two.

But despite these, the descenders had already caught up to them, and were close to killing Sally.

A random green eyed boy, leaped into the air, with a thick black sword, cutting off the head of a descender.

But that move had cost him his speed, he was now in the hands of a descender.

"No Sally, help me. " The boy cried but Sally only turned back with a wicked smile on her face.

"I'm sorry but someone has to be the bait. " Sally responded, nearing the portal

"Nooo Elvis. " A random black eyed boy with dual swords shouted, turning back to go help his friend, but Sally dragged him into the portal with her, leaving Elvis to die.

The descenders quickly began biting Elvis, forcing screams of agony.
