I became the most powerful entity in the universe. What could go wrong?

You know how they say, don't make your main character overpowered? Well, I threw that rule into the bin while writing this. The main character is unquestionable the most overpowered character in fiction. I won't spoil the story, but here are a list of things you can expect: 1) Obviously, the MC is ridiculously overpowered, to the point where it's provable that no other fictional character could rival him. 2) Despite this satirical concept, there is an actually complex story being told. And no clichés, no predictability. The plot goes wherever it wants to go. 3) It's very analytical. Everything in the story is designed to make logical sense. Yes, that includes the MC's power. 4) The MC is not the good Samaritan type. He's the definition of an anti-hero. 5) Most of the fight scenes are brutal and gory. And detailed too. So, if you have a weak stomach, maybe prepare yourself. Hope you enjoy! The release schedule is pretty flexible for now, so I'll either get to release two chapters a week or one in two weeks or anywhere in between. So if you're not a fan of waiting, maybe add it your collection and binge read it when it's like 30 or so chapters in ;-) The cover art is not original. If the owner requests, I will remove it.

Why does my character trait include Malevolent?

Surely, genociding an entire kingdom by burning them to ashes crossed some sort of moral line. But did I feel guilty about it? No. Does that make me a psychopath? Also no... at least it shouldn't. I, who was yet to experience human companionship, was unable to empathize with human bonds being severed via painless deaths. That makes perfect sense in my opinion. If you disagree, that's fine; you're wrong.

Anyway, coming to the more important problem at hand — I was completely and utterly screwed. My accommodation, life goals, retirement plans, and my supposedly two loyal companions were all turned to charcoal. With that being said, I needed to figure out how to proceed, and my options were limited.

Option A: Spend time in solitude. I could wander into a nearby forest, and focus on getting my powers under control through sheer willpower. Once I can control it enough, I can jump to another timeline.

Option B: I live with my actions. I could travel around the globe, find a good place to settle in, and meet all kinds of people; I'll be sure to avoid sociopaths though.

Option C: Give up. I could scream and reset the universe to return to the Omnipotent again.

Option C was easily the worst choice. The Omnipotent only allowed me back into the universe because of my request to live a fulfilling life. If I were to intentionally break everything simply because I suffered a setback, he would not let me come back.

Option A's success heavily relied on me being able to control my powers through 'sheer willpower'. It also meant that I would have to risk going berserk while experimenting with the virus. If the charcoal kingdom before me implied anything, it was that Option A is definitely out of consideration.

So, option B naturally seemed like the most promising direction to take. Before leaving the area however, I decided to pillage the charcoal kingdom in case they had any treasures that were somehow resistant to absurd amounts of heat and radiation.

I walked through the debris, keeping an eye out for anything that was not burnt. "What is this?" I frowned as I picked up a small golden statue that was unaffected by the disaster; it barely had any scratches on it.

"It's a totem, my liege. It is enchanted with heat resistance."

Oh, that makes sense... wait. I turned around to see a man and woman, both covered in fire residues and no clothes, knelt before me. Who the heck are you two, I was about to ask. But I didn't need to.

Seeing those abnormal levels was like looking at a ray of hope that I thought was lost. You could already guess who they were from their skillset. "My—my name is Edith," the immortal woman with the higher level among the two introduced herself. Followed by, "My name is Devon, my liege," the immortal man with too many magic skills to list down said.

"Uh... hello," I awkwardly greeted them while they were still kneeling before me. "You can stand by the way." So they stood up, with Edith's height towering over Devon's.

There was a short silence before Edith hesitantly asked, "Master, may I... may I ask why you destroyed the kingdom?"

Well, this is awkward. I explained my misfortune of coming across the princess who triggered me. I don't know if it was because they empathized with me or because they were programmed to support me no matter what, they had no complaints. "Unrelated, but why do you call me 'master,' when he calls me 'liege'?" I wondered whether they perceived their relationships with me differently. Turns out I was just overthinking.

"Apologies. Please tell us how you would like us to address you," Devon bowed.

I remembered the fact that I didn't have a name, so I decided to make one up. "You can call me Zenith." My name basically meant 'above,' which was pretty fitting but I picked it randomly so it doesn't make me egotistical. The immortals changed the way they addressed me, but they didn't drop the honorifics; it became 'Master Zenith'.

Anyway, with my recovered companions, option B showed even more promise. You see, initially I was going to make an elaborate plan to travel and infiltrate a nearby kingdom or village to get supplies. But now I didn't have to do any of those. Supplies could be developed by natural means, nearby kingdoms and villages can be ignored, and I can practically start all over without resetting anything.

Let me explain it the way I explained it to my companions. We left the charcoal kingdom and entered the nearest forest. Firstly, regarding the supplies. The most important supply we needed was not food or water since all three of us were immortals, rather it was clothing. Devon and Edith's skillset solved this problem easily. Apparently, Devon was programmed to be a butler while Edith was programmed to be a fighter. In practice, Edith fought and killed wild animals while Devon professionally made clothes out of their skin and other natural resources.

Secondly, regarding how I said all the nearby kingdoms and villages can be ignored. Remember when I first met the Omnipotent, he fed me with a lot of data? Most of that data was advanced knowledge about the sciences — mostly physics — which are essential to efficiently develop skills. But with no control over my powers, developing a skill was meaningless. That's where my two companions with S+ rank mana control and mana capacity in the millions came into picture.

I already had an idea to travel to the other side of the planet pretty quickly. To best explain this, I'll refer to Isaac Newton's thought experiment. Imagine a mountain on the Earth's surface, so big that its summit is above the atmosphere. If you were to climb to the top of this summit and throw an object horizontally outwards, it is going to be pulled by gravity and fall to the ground along a curved path. Now, what if you throw it much faster? Fast enough to keep up with the gravitational pull acting on it? Short answer is the ball won't fall.

Depending on the velocity of the ball, it could either orbit the earth (if the velocity is just right that it doesn't escape Earth's gravity) or get propelled into outer space (if the velocity is too great). And my idea to travel was to orbit the planet in the opposite direction of its spin. When done right, I could reach the other side of the planet in literally a few hours. So in order to maintain the orbit according to the example, there are two key factors — Velocity in relation to the gravitational pull, and Earth's atmosphere. You see, within the atmosphere where there is pressure, air resistance, and whatnot, the velocity of an object will slow down over time. But without any such obstacles, the highest point of velocity will be retained forever.

Translating this idea into an actual magic ability was a bit tricky though, especially because I couldn't directly develop it. I explained all the finer details to Devon, who was apparently more proficient in learning new skills. It still two us two days to accomplish, but we persevered. I didn't know if it was because Devon lacked prior knowledge about the concepts I explained, but developing a magic skill seemed rather tedious. Or at least, that was my first impression based on the last two days; maybe if I'm directly involved, it would be faster. Nevertheless, three new magic skills were added to Devon's skill set.

> Skillset: … Gravity Manipulation (Complexity - A) ; Nullify (Complexity - A) ; 3-D Space Manipulation (Complexity - A) …

It was the middle of the night, but we wasted no time, not even to celebrate. Devon used his 3D space manipulation magic to create an invisible bubble, within which he can freely perform environment manipulation without affecting the area outside. Then he used Nullify magic to remove properties like air resistance and pressure within the bubble, creating a perfect vacuum. Finally, he used gravity manipulation magic to control the gravitational pull acting within the bubble.

You may already know that the lower something is in orbit, the higher the velocity required to keep up with the gravitational pull. In this case, the velocity is controlled by the 3D space manipulation, which allowed Devon to move the constructed bubble in 3D space. We also made it so that this bubble would move the contents inside as well, by having a barrier of air pressure surrounding it. But here's the problem we faced on day 1. We couldn't control the speed of this movement to exceed 30 km/h, which is not even close to what is required to escape Earth's gravity. In fact, we gave up on fixing that issue because nothing we tried worked.

That's why the gravity manipulation magic was created, as somewhat of a workaround. This allowed for the gravitational pull to be manipulated instead of the velocity. The concept behind this magic involves manipulating gravitons, elementary particles that mediate gravity, and understanding a black hole's singularity. I'll explain more about this when it's relevant. For now, all you need to know is that the Earth's gravity acting in our little domain can be reduced using this magic.

Devon did exactly that. He reduced the gravitational pull from 9.8 meters per second per second to 0.05. We could orbit the earth while being close to the surface with such gravity, but to keep up with such a big reduction, more energy needs to be exerted by Devon, or mana consumption to be exact. So, we first made our way up to an ideal altitude while relatively controlling the gravity. At 9 kilometers up in the air, we proceeded to orbit in the opposite direction of Earth's rotation.

We were literally floating through the clouds at speeds we couldn't feel due to the vacuum. Speaking of which, although I was completely unaffected by it, my companions had it pretty rough. I only had a vague idea how their immortality worked, but I could tell that it was putting a slight strain on their bodies to keep up with the low pressure. Persevering through a few hours of that, we finally reached the continent on the other side of the planet.

Now I get to start over without resetting anything. You see, the reason why I wanted to avoid nearby kingdoms and villages was because of the charcoal kingdom incident. News about such a large scale attack will definitely spread around and likely come back to bite my ass later; it was only wise to move as far away as possible. Although my companions had lost their social power there, they were still godlike beings. So, rebuilding social standing in our new civilized destination shouldn't be difficult.

There was a huge kingdom to the east of the continent where we landed. Unnecessary detail, but on our way there, we robbed a traveling merchant... anyway, moving on. We arrived at the kingdom's entrance gates on our newly 'acquired' carriage. We had all the paperwork required for a merchant to enter the kingdom handy, so we passed through the gates with ease.

If the huge border walls surrounding the kingdom was any evidence, it was that this kingdom was filthy rich. Upon passing the gates, that only became more evident. Obviously I didn't have anything to compare it to since the last kingdom I visited ended up the way it did before I could sightsee anything. But my companions confirmed that what the charcoal kingdom used to be was nothing compared to this.

But even when all the houses and shops I saw seemed tall and well-built and connected by stone roads, there were three establishments in the kingdom that stood out significantly. The royal palace, the temple, and the academy.

You can probably guess which one of them I was interested in. The Temple? I've already met God in person, so no. The Royal Palace? I had no interest in meeting humans in fancy clothes, acting high and mighty, so also no. My eyes were set on the academy — the place where people learned to control and use magic. Because, the number one priority for me currently was to get my power under control to an extent where I won't cause another charcoal kingdom incident.

My initial worry was about the academy having a scheduled entrance exam, which could be months away. But we investigated and found out that there was an immediate way to get into the academy, albeit it would only be a temporary visit.

You see, the academy was strictly the only place in the entire kingdom with a licensed library. So, every book you would need to learn magic could be found in there. It would surely be unfair if only the academy students and staff had access to it, which is why they had a system where outsiders can pay to spend time in the library. You may think that I'm overexplaining this, because what I described is exactly how a regular library functions. But there's an attribute to the academy's library that sets it apart.

Aside from paying money to enter the library, the staff also tested the entree's mana capacity. The only reason for this is to scout out talented individuals. An efficient society should always have means to identify their high-potential human resources, and this kingdom has it. Naturally, I had a plan to exploit this.

The three of us went further into the kingdom. On our way to the academy, we stopped at a local boutique. We were still wearing the clothes made out of animal skin, which didn't exactly help us fit in with the locals. So, we bought ourselves some new sets of noble clothes and continued to the academy, where Edith and I parted ways with Devon. I told Devon to head into the city and find an inn for us to stay. "Also, if you can, try to find a business opportunity that will help us settle here. It will be better to prepare in advance."

"As you wish, master Zenith." He handed us a pouch of gold coins — pocket money basically — and left riding the carriage.

I already explained my plan to Edith before we entered the huge building. The main hall was just ridiculously spacious. Unless giants thrice as tall as humans resided in this kingdom, there was no reason for the hall to be as big as it was. Anyway, we went to the reception area and requested access to the library. We paid two gold coins each, and as expected, they measured our mana capacity.

I was up first. To test the mana capacity, I assumed they would use some random object enchanted with analyzing properties. But I was surprised when they pulled out a non-magical tool, fully engineered from scratch. It was a bulky box with a scale and some indicator lights on it, and extending from it was a cable with a wristband attached. The examiner put the wristband on me and pushed a button on the device.

Thanks to the device being mechanical, I understood how it worked and by extension, figured out where mana is stored in the human body. Mana is apparently part of the human nervous system, and the mana capacity is calculated by the mana density. And that's what the device did. It roughly estimated the mana density in my nerves — on my wrist — and performed a simple calculation to output the mana capacity. Or at least it tried to.

The result was as expected. "It would appear, you are mana-impaired," the examiner announced with a scorn look. There was obviously no mana in my body, which I knew. But with my companion, it was an entirely different story.

The examiner was shocked, but not in a bad way. The device didn't exactly output the capacity like my passive skill does, rather it simply indicated it on a scale. The light that glowed for my companion was on the far right of the scale, indicating the highest estimable mana capacity. I safely assumed that that estimate was 15000 or higher, meaning a person with the capacity of 15000 and 5.7 million will be indicated by the same light. I could only imagine their reaction if they knew her mana capacity was actually in the millions.

Anyway, the examiner sent a message to the main office of the academy and respectfully asked Edith to wait in the hall. "You can go ahead into the library," she turned to me and said. But I insisted on waiting with Edith.

Soon enough, two men who I presumed were professors came from within the academy. One was an old man with a long white beard while the other one was a young black haired man with a pair of round spectacles. I hope you didn't picture Dumbledore and Harry Potter based off of that description, because they look nothing alike.

My eyes immediately scanned them and interpreted their capacity. The old man's status was nothing unexpected.

However, the bespectacled man was different. I was perplexed by what I perceived.

"Miss Edith," the old man interrupted my thoughts. "I am professor Feiling. The academy has recognized you as an exceptionally talented individual. Hence, we request you to enroll. Of course no fee needs to be paid for the enrollment or the entrance exam, which will be held in a month's time. Additionally, I am willing to tutor you for the exams at your convenience. Rest assured, with your cooperation and my guidance, you will join the academy and achieve wonders."

A very self-centered speech, fitting his character trait. Anyway, things were going as planned. Edith firmly responded in agreement. "But I have one condition. I will only enroll if my master gets free lifetime access to the library."

For the foreseeable future, I figured I would be spending a lot of time in the library. So, why not get free access instead of spending a fortune on it? The old man scowled at me in response and said, "Isn't he mana-impaired? What could be possible hope to achieve?"

And here I was, thinking they would accept the deal without a second thought. "Then I will not be enrolling," Edith retorted.

"Miss Edith, I never refused the deal. It is completely acceptable for your companion to receive a lifetime pass," he then nodded at the receptionist, who immediately got started with the paperwork. But he wasn't finished talking. He stepped towards me, "Listen kid, the academy values talent. Which means, magic values talent. Whatever you hope to accomplish by learning magic is not going to work as long as you have no talent. Even if you manage to accomplish it, you won't have deserved it." The corner of his eyes met the bespectacled professor behind him as he ended that sentence.

Sheesh, what's his problem? Nevertheless, I got lifetime free access to the academy's library. There was no time to waste. We entered the colossal library filled with tens of thousands of books. Feiling escorted Edith away to start the tutoring session. Honestly, I could only laugh at the thought of a self-centered old man with A rank mana control tutoring an immortal with S+ rank mana control. But those thoughts didn't linger as I explored the bookshelves alone... at least I was supposed to be alone.

"What do you want?" I asked the bespectacled professor, stalking me in plain sight.

"Apologies for the late introduction. I am professor Martin." I don't remember asking him his name, but whatever. He continued, "I followed you out of intrigue. I didn't think there would be another mana-impaired individual willing to learn magic."

A few things cleared up after he said that. Back when I tried to assess his status, my passive skill did not work on him. I understood why — the passive skill only assessed those with mana in their body. This guy was actually mana-impaired. It also explained Feiling's disapproving look towards him earlier; that old man is definitely opinionated against people with lack of talent.

It wouldn't be surprising if he was discriminated against by all other professors and students in the academy as well. But despite that, he still continued to be a professor, which also begs the question, how he became one in the first place. I naturally didn't care about the discrimination against people with lack of talent. Because for one, I'm not really mana-impaired. And two, achieving social equality in the kingdom was not in my to-do list.

What I did find interesting was, "By any chance, are you the one who developed that device to estimate mana capacity?" I asked him.

He was a little surprised that that was my first question to him. "Very intuitive. I am indeed the one who built it."

I knew it! Martin was probably the only one in the kingdom who studied magic in the context of science. He could be of great help in gaining control over my powers, and so, I came up with an idea. "Can you help me with something?" I got his attention. "I want to learn the fundamentals. Everything from how the human body stores, consumes, and replenishes mana to how the internal organs work together with it."

Anyone can tell that Martin was a passionate teacher, and me asking that question made him very glad. He helped me pick a bunch of books related to the topic, which was limited since people normally don't associate magic with science; they associate it with religion instead. The contents of those books definitely helped a bit, but Martin's explanation and insight was the main reason I got to be able to grasp how the human body is designed with mana incorporated in them.

Honestly, I could have learnt about this from the Omnipotent, but I didn't because I never thought I would need it. With that being said, how am I going to use this knowledge? I began preparing a program in my head, thorough as it can be, to completely convert my biology to that of the humans here.

It wasn't really a time consuming process, so I figured I could complete it while I was in the library. The most important thing I had to make sure was not for the conversion to work, rather to prevent energy from leaking from my body in the process. For that, I included several safety measures into the program, which ended up being more complex than the conversion process itself.

4 whole hours later, I initiated the process which I called 'Biocontrol' and closed my eyes to concentrate. I was sitting alone in a part of the library where foot traffic was low, and Martin was also away for the time being, so I wasn't interrupted for the entire duration of 25 minutes. I didn't really need to be so focused during the process because it was the virus that was executing the program. However, I was concentrating to manually make sure no energy leaked from my body. Turns out the safety measures worked perfectly and I didn't have to.

Finally done. My biology was now the same as that of the natives on this planet, filled with mana provided by the virus. I brought my hand in front of my face, and as expected, the passive skill activated.

> Level: INFINITE

> Mana Control: NEGATIVE

> Character Trait: Logical, Malevolent

> State of Mind: Pleased, Excited

Seeing my own capacity analyzed for the first time felt great. Also, upon learning about human biology and how mana worked, I learned the true meanings of what my brain interpreted as level, mana capacity, mana control, and skillset.

Level: The quality of mana. This is the most important attribute to measure an individual's strength, because it determines how efficiently a person can use their mana. For example, if two people who can use fire magic — of the same complexity — attack a target by consuming the same amount of mana, the person with the higher level will do more damage to their target. This attribute can be improved by training.

Mana Capacity: The amount of mana inside the individual's body. The reason why this attribute is used to determine a person's talent is because mana capacity cannot be improved by any means. Rather, it will fully develop by the age of 13 and will remain the same throughout the individual's lifetime.

Mana Control: The extent to which the user can control their mana. The formula to calculate mana control is too complicated to explain, so just know that it depends on both level and mana capacity. In other words, the higher the level and/or mana capacity, the more difficult it is to improve mana control. This attribute can be improved by training of course.

Skillset: The different types of skills that require mana consumption. This is pretty straightforward, but there are a couple of interesting points to note. One, any skill that doesn't require mana will not be listed. So, if you're naturally good at mental arithmetic, there won't be a skill called 'Calculation' listed in your status. Two, it will only include magic that has been performed by the individual. So for example, even if you have the knowledge of how fire magic works, it won't be shown in the skillset unless you use it at least once. And three, the same skill can have varying complexity. For example, Fire Magic (Complexity - B) and Fire Magic (Complexity - A). Generally, a higher complexity means better efficiency in regards to mana consumption.

Seeing my own capacity — determined by my passive skill which was interpreted as 'Analysis' — I realized the limits of this skill. Firstly, regarding my level, mana capacity, and mana control. The meaning of 'INFINITE' was straightforward: there's no determinable limit. My level and mana capacity, both of which was being sourced from the virus, was naturally unlimited. The meaning of 'NEGATIVE' was a bit tricky. It's like the result you get from dividing a number by 0, in other words, incalculable. Since both my level and mana capacity was unlimited, the mana control which is calculated based on those two factors returned an undeterminable value. This was a problem, because it meant that unless I can fully control my powers, my mana control will always be 'NEGATIVE' which meant that I won't be able to use any magic skills that require even the slightest control over mana. However, I already had a plan to solve this, which we will get to later.

Setting all that aside, the most confusing part of my status was my character trait. Malevolent? I tried very hard to remember what evil deed I had committed to get that trait... nothing came to mind. Anyway, this was my first big success after arriving on this planet. I felt like celebrating, so I looked for Edith. I knew she wouldn't have left my area, and as expected, she was sitting alone in a desk, zoning off with an open book in front of her.

"Sorry to keep you waiting, Edith."

Alerted with a smile, she closed the book and stood up to greet me. "Master Zenith, you need not apologize to me."

With almost an entire day spent in the library, I was ready to leave and meet up with Devon. But the book she was reading caught my attention. It was a skill book titled 'Prodigy' and I was intrigued. As immortals, neither me nor Edith required sleep, so I figured if I can find a few rare and useful skills while we were at the library, it would be useful in the long run or in a near time of need. Because, even though I had an abundance of scientific knowledge, reading about an already existing idea is faster than coming up with my own.

So, we spent the night at the library. You would think that browsing through the largest library in the kingdom, full of skill books, for an entire night would have led me to find a conveniently overpowered skill that requires minimum mana control. I thought so too... it ended up being a complete waste of time.

I could swear that the few books that Martin picked for me were the only decent books in the entire library. Everything else was just religious propaganda. The 'Prodigy' book that Edith held, for example, was a 150 page book with two randomly located paragraphs explaining the functionality of the skill, which was basically just a way to boost your memory power slightly. The rest of the book was filled with prayers and praises to the 'one true God'. The other skill books in the library were no different.

Moreover, they all had the image of God in the first page, and all I can say is that if these people were to ever meet the Omnipotent in person, they're in for a big disappointment. Their interpretation of him was that of a being with 10 arms, harnessing all the various powers of the universe. In actuality, had two arms, and he wore a T-shirt and a pair of sweatpants. He shared no similarities with their mutated monstrosity.

That morning, Martin showed up at the library. He was surprised that we stayed up all night, and based on my expression, he assumed that I was tired. "I think this is an unhealthy level of passion for learning magic." he said.

"I appreciate your concern, Martin, but I'm not tired," I responded. I was deeply annoyed by the fact that I acquired a lifetime pass to this library and I had already exhausted what I could gain from it. "We will be taking our leave then."

"One minute," he stopped us, me specifically. "Have you visited the temple by any chance?"

"No." I already had my fill of religious propaganda from this library.

What Martin then told me was surprisingly useful information. "I think you've already roughly understood the deep connection between magic and religious practices in this kingdom. The truth is it used to be so much more extreme fifteen years ago before the current king came into power. People with lack of talent in magic were at best forced to leave the kingdom, or at worst burned alive. The reason I'm telling you this is because those religious extremists still linger within the kingdom away from notice, and they are extremely powerful. I have reasons to believe a group of them are within this academy. The only reason why they haven't come out to overthrow the kingdom is probably because they haven't accumulated enough strength to face the king. My advice for you and your companion is to not join this academy. You being mana-impaired will likely be killed by them, while your exceptional companion will be targeted into joining them."

I fully heeded his warning, but for some reason, it sounded more like a cry for help. Based on what he said, Martin being mana-impaired himself, should also be a target to these so-called extremists. Unfortunately, I had no interest in going out of my way to save him. It was easy to tell that these extremists are really problematic people, and I should do everything I can to avoid coming into contact with them. I even decided that I would never set foot into the academy again no matter the opportunities I should pass.

"I will consider it," I simply replied and left the academy with Edith. I originally planned to let Edith go through with the enrollment in order to build a good social status. But it's not happening anymore, not at the risk of involving myself with religious nutjobs. She of course had no complaint to this change in plans. Rather, she was probably annoyed with all the tutoring she had to go through when she was already the strongest she could be.

...

We reached the city and were headed to the inn which Devon mentioned to Edith via his transmission magic. I have to say, I was feeling grateful for my companions. Given how helpful they were being, I felt like I should reward them occasionally even though it's unneeded because they are programmed to obey me unconditionally.

We reached the huge inn that was overflowing with customers, and opened the door to our luxury suite on the top floor. "Master Zenith!" Devon reacted by tearing up and kneeling down. It almost surprised me to the point where I could have caused another disaster. "I have missed you."

I wanted to scold him for doing so, but he was still a companion I was grateful for and I didn't want to do anything that would upset him. Moreover, I should have expected that kind of reaction from him based on his character trait; an emotional person. "You may stand, Devon."

I looked around the colossal room I was standing in the midst of. I could tell that it cost more than what we could have afforded, which only meant one thing. Devon had successfully established a business with big income. Before I could ask him about it, I noticed a pile of identical books on top of a study table. Recalling one of Devon's skillset was penmanship, I wondered if he had written a novel that broke all sales records.

But it has only been one day, and for him to be able to write, print, publish, and distribute a book within such a short span told me that the book was very close to his heart that he could write it in mere hours. I got a bad feeling about it.

Knock knock!

Edith opened the door to reveal the middle-aged innkeeper, holding a tray of freshly cooked meals. She behaved very respectfully until her eyes met me. "O' high and mighty Zenith!" She cried as she kneeled down and worshiped me.

I must point out that I had not met that woman before, I don't even recall seeing her when I entered the inn. So, how does she know my name and how did she recognize me?

Just as I had feared, Devon, my companion whom I was grateful for a second ago, had established a new religion around me. My intentions to avoid facing the religious people in this kingdom had been completely screwed over.

It was only two days ago, I had the misfortune of meeting a crazy person and burnt a kingdom to the ground. And now two days later, I was foreseeing all the crazy people in this kingdom coming after me.

What's a peaceful life like? At this rate, I couldn't imagine ever getting to know.
