I hate recess

After Teddy finished his tests, it was time for a break. Teddy didn't hate his circumstances at home, but the holidays weren't his favorite time of year because he had nowhere to go. Only her mother remained on her mother's side of the family. Her younger brother was killed in a vehicle accident, and both of her parents died while sh was a small child. His son was the only family she had. Teddy recognized that his achievement would bring his mother joy, which is one of the things that motivated him to be a good son and work hard in school. Teddy doesn't know his father, and he decided against questioning her mother because he thought she would provide the information when the time is right.

Teddy was lying on the couch watching TV around 9:30 in the morning. He decided to watch TV in the living room rather than staying in bed because he was so used to getting up early to go to school. As a result, he woke up earlier than usual. 

He muttered, lying on the couch, "I'm so bored, I wonder when is mother coming back from work." "I'd better get up and prepare myself some food." To prepare himself a meal, he headed to the kitchen. When he arrived, he only found rice, maize and a salt when he opened the cabinet. He exhaled deeply. He commented as he opened his refrigerator, "it seems like my mother didn't do grocery shopping." He shook his head and put his other hand on the waist, saying, "even in the fridge, there are only two pieces of meat." "let me just cook my self some porridge, I'll prepare rice and chicken in the evening. Teddy filled the kettle with water and set it on the burner to boil. He took the maiz and added it to the boiling water after the water had fully boiled, stirring it thoroughly. After that, he added the sugar, stirred it, and waited for it to finish cooking for 10 minutes. After waiting for ten minutes, he served himself, ate, washed his plate, put it on the dish rack, and then went to his room.

He was lying in bed when he muttered, "I wonder if my mom had financial problems or what, everything has changed around here, we even don't have hot water like we used to." "Anyway, let me sleep just to pass the time; otherwise, I'll be hungry if I just sit here and do nothing, plus I did my laundry yesterday, so I have nothing to do".

Teddy had slept for six hours and was now awake. To reach for his phone, he hid his hand behind the pillow. Then he realized he no longer possessed a cellphone. To check the time on his watch, he got out of bed and went to the kitchen. It was 17:30 p.m. "Damn, it's getting late; I should start cooking, he said. 

He rinsed the rice in cold water, added the salt and water, and set the pot on the heat after that. "Before my mother arrives home, I should put the chicken in the oven to defrost because if she sees me doing this, I'll be dead. Teddy took the two pieces of chicken out of the fridge, placed them on a baking sheet, and defrosted them in the oven for two minutes.He then put them on the pot and started to cook his lunch. "I wonder when mother will come back; I can't even call him; he's later than usual today," he said. Teddy served himself after he had finished cooking. With a disgusted expression, he stated, "This food tastes awful, but I have to eat it because I don't have a choice or anything, I should be thankful that I won't sleep on an empty stomach." He finished his meal and placed his plate down on the sink. I'm not in the mood right now, so I'll wash the dishes tomorrow", he said. 

To watch TV, he headed to the living room. Thirty minutes later, his mother showed up. He questioned his mother, "Mom, where have you been? You were supposed to come back two hours ago, did something happen?" "No baby, everything is alright; just today, my employer had a lot of work to complete. "Does your boss not know that working more than 12 hours per day is illegal?" "Okay, cool down. She didn't push me; she politely asked, and she stated she would increase my income by a certain amount, that is why I agreed", she said. I was going to report your boss to the CCMA because there is no way I would have permitted my mother to be treated that way at work. Mother laughed at him. "that is why I love you. Here take this plastics, they have some goods. Place the meat in the freezer and arrange other items correctly on the cupboard."I mistook the way I worried when I didn't see anything on the refrigerator and cupboard for a fast this week. His mother made a chuckle.You probably wanted to cry, I'm sure. "At first, I did, but I soon became appreciative that I had found something to eat; if not, I swore I was going to cry." Oh my poor kid, I forgot you enjoyed eating. Teddy returned to his mother after going to the kitchen to unpack the groceries.

"Mom, I think we need to buy a plastic basin that we will use for bathing and turn off the geyser for the time being to save electricity." I'll purchase it tomorrow when I get off work since you're right, I wonder why I never thought of that. "Okay, then let me go to my room now and sleep, by the way mom I need a new phone, not something much but a phone that I'll use for calls, you know today I was so worried when I saw you being late I thought that maybe there is something that happened to you, and the worst part is that I didn't even have the phone to call you," he said. 

"Oh my Teddy, why didn't you remind me that? I forgot that you don't have a phone, and when the school opens, what will you use for homework?" "I'll buy a R240 phone for myself and give you mine."No, mom, it's alright just get the phone;m, you know your son is smart; he'll figure it out, and if I can't, I'll just go to the internet café, all right?". "If you say so, then it's okay, but if you're having trouble, please let me know okay, and I'm sorry that I can't afford to buy you a pricey phone. " I am aware that today's youth like using social media, but you will be excluded as a result of me. Teddy approached his mother and begged her not to say anything because he didn't care at all and didn't even like social media. 

  "if you say so then it's fine but if you're struggling please tell me okay, I'll give you mine and I'm sorry that I can't afford to buy you an expensive phone. I know that the kids of nowadays like to be on social media and you on the other hand you'll miss out because of me". Teddy went closer to his mother, "mom please don't say that you know I don't mind at all I don't even like social media so it's okay".

"All right then pumpkin, let me go to bed I'm exhausted. When Maria got up from the couch to enter her bedroom, she suddenly became lightheaded and her stomach began to pain, causing her to collapse to the floor. Teddy heard his mother screaming and hurriedly went to aid her. mama, mama! What's going on? he yelled. "Help me get to my room, it's nothing serious, but my stomach hurts, and I think something I ate is to blame," the person says. He stated as he was assisting his mother to stand up, "Mom you're worrying me, I hope you're not hiding something from me, you haven't been yourself in these last few weeks." "Stop worrying so much everything is fine."  "Okay, I'll have to believe you if you say so".
