Dena chuckled when she saw her Lady showing an annoyed expression. Dena assumed Ruby wanted to see Matthew as soon as possible, so she asked Dena to hurry up to help her change clothes.

On the other hand, Ruby is trying to choose the dress she will wear to meet Matthew. However, no matter how many dresses Ruby took out of the closet, she couldn't find a dress that looked beautiful.

Since Ruby had only been living at Veritas for a few days, she hadn't bought a new dress yet, so all the dresses in her closet were dresses she had brought from Wridal.

Unfortunately, most dresses she owned while living at Wridal weren't looking nice. Even the size tends to be larger than Ruby's body. It's because Marquess Barnette never wants to spend his money on Ruby's clothes.

Ruby always used dresses that Liliana no longer liked. Therefore, all her dresses are bigger than her body because they are not meant for her.

"What's wrong, Milady?" Dena worriedly asked when she saw Ruby standing still in front of the closet.

Ruby bit her lower lips and wrote. "I don't have a nice dress to wear."

Ruby felt that she would embarrass Matthew if she wandered around the palace in an ugly dress after officially becoming the mistress of the palace.

"Don't worry, Milady." Dena comforted Ruby. "I can change this dress to be more beautiful on your body."

Ruby looked at Dena doubtfully and was afraid that it would take a long time to change the shape of her dress.

As if knowing Ruby's concern, Dena added, "You don't need to worry, Milady. It won't take me long to fix your dress."

Dena then chose a light blue dress. The arms and waist of the dress look too big, making Ruby's body look shorter and unable to show her curves.

Ruby immediately pouted again when she saw her appearance in the mirror. She even thought it might be better to refuse Matthew's invitation to have breakfast together as long as Ruby didn't have a new dress.

But her thoughts immediately vanished when she saw Dena deftly modify the dress she was wearing. Dena cut a dark blue fabric, then tied the piece of cloth to Ruby's waist and arms.

The rest of the ties are then shaped like a ribbon, so Ruby's appearance looks beautiful and adorable. Thanks to the bow tie, her dress no longer seems too big.

"See. You can look prettier with a little touch from me." Dena straightened Ruby's dress. "Do you like it?"

Ruby nodded quickly. She even clapped her hands a few times to express her joy.

Dena smiled. Her heart warmed when she saw Ruby's happy face. "Then let's put some makeup on your face. Then you can immediately see His Majesty."

After Ruby tidied up her appearance, Dena immediately escorted Ruby to where Matthew was waiting.

At first, Ruby thought that Matthew was waiting for her in the palace dining room. However, Dena instead escorted her to the garden behind the palace.

Compared to the garden in front of the palace, the rear garden looks more beautiful. There are hundreds of types of ornamental plants that have various colors embedded in the rear palace. The blooming flowers attract the butterflies to fly in the garden.

Ruby's gaze then fell on a round table in the middle of the garden. The table is neither too big nor small—the size is enough to fit two people.

Matthew was reading a book and drinking hot tea in one of the chairs. His face looks very handsome when exposed to the morning sun ray.

Ruby's heart beat faster when her and Matthew's eyes met. The man gave Ruby a warm smile, making Ruby feel more awkward and hesitant to walk toward the table.

The memory of their incredible night was still vividly etched in her memory, so Ruby felt so embarrassed every time she saw Matthew.

"Your Majesty, I apologize for making you wait so long." Dena bowed her head in front of Matthew. "Lady Ruby just woke up, so I must help her change clothes first."

"It's all right. You can go," Matthew replied.

Dena immediately left the garden and left Ruby alone with Matthew.

Ruby was standing still in front of the table. She felt awkward and didn't know how to act politely in front of Matthew.

When Ruby lived with the Barnette Family, no one had ever taught Ruby table manners. Moreover, it's rare to find a book containing the table manners theory because nobles usually call on an etiquette lecturer to teach their children.

Therefore, Ruby didn't understand table manners and worried that Matthew would consider her rude if her eating behavior didn't conform to noble etiquette.

While Ruby was still thinking about many things in her head, Matthew suddenly stood up and pulled out an empty chair for Ruby to sit on. "Please sit down, Milady."

Since Matthew had asked her to sit down, Ruby finally tried to sit down gracefully.

"Thank you, Your Majesty," Ruby wrote.

"No need to thank me." Matthew praised, "When I saw you closer, I realized that the ribbon on your dress makes you look adorable, Milady."

Ruby blush. She lowered her head slightly, then wrote, "Dena is the one who helped me choose this dress and fix it, so it fits me."

Matthew finally realized that the quality of Ruby's dress was not good enough. Even the fabrics tended to look rough. "Milady, winter is coming soon. So, you need many winter clothes since the winter temperature in Veritas is colder than in Wridal."

"I'll call the clothes designer tomorrow so that she can make winter dresses for you. You can also ask her to make some dresses that you like if you want."

Ruby was flattered. She had never been made a dress by a clothes designer before.

Matthew's words made Ruby smile widely. She can't wait for tomorrow and asks a clothes designer to make her dream dresses.

"Thank you, Your Majesty. You are such a kind person."

Matthew's brow furrowed as he read Ruby's sentence. "Milady, you don't always have to thank me. I'm just doing the basics, so no need to thank me anymore."

"It would be better if you expressed the feelings you were felt instead of saying 'thank you'."

For people who can see the emotions' color, like Ruby, expressing the feelings that are being felt is not essential.

However, for Matthew, who can't read Ruby's heart, expressing feelings is crucial.
