9 The plot changed

"Help!"

"Argh!"

"Where are the horde of beasts coming from?!"

"Someone get Help!"

"Kya! Mommy!"

The cacophony of screams assaulted my ears, I took deep breaths slowly to calm my fast-paced beating heart. The scene in front of me was unsightly, people were running to and fro with no end in sight.

This was the first event where Accorsa would be badly hurt. I quickly took to my heels and ran as fast as I could to the centre of the square, where the main attack was happening.

Knights with the duke's emblem were tirelessly fighting against the beasts. Lifelessly laying around the ground were bodies of humans and beasts alike.

After scanning the area with my eyes, I finally found a woman figure in bloodied armour laying by the side with some bodies of beasts around her, her white hair was stained with dark red blood.

That ashy white hair couldn't be mistaken, it was definitely the female lead. This was the first plot of the novel.

I ran to the body and plopped on the floor beside her, her bloodied face was pale and looked lifeless. Her long hair covered some part of her face, my hands quivered and my eyes brimmed with tears.

This wasn't the kind of sight I wanted to see, I wanted to see the female lead happy.

The tears finally flowed out of my eyes, the female lead's current appearance reminded me of my brother.

If I don't go back to my world would he die like this? Would I let him die just like I let Accorsa die? If only I had found a way to warn her, she wouldn't have died like this. It's all my fault.

"Hic."

I took sharp breaths and tried sweeping Accorsa's hair away from her face but my hand phased through her body.

"What?"

I quickly stood up with wide eyes.

This, this was nothing but a dream?

"Tatiana."

Huh?

I turned to the voice but I saw no one. Instead, the people who were running or fighting were no longer in sight. I turned back to Accorsa but she faded away.

Then slowly the skies fell and what seemed to be a paper background was torn right in front of me.

It felt like I was watching a piece of paper crumbling. It was a veil of illusion.

I was suddenly pulled into a black void and then...

I opened my eyes, panting heavily, my brownish-black hair stuck to my face and the top of my night wear was soaked in sweat.

I hurriedly sat up and the voice I heard jolted me at of my reverie.

"It looks like you cry in your sleep too."

I turned to the overly familiar voice.

The image in front of me contrasted with the image in my dream. I hurriedly jumped on her without thinking.

I couldn't bear to face that gore scene again but what was Accorsa doing here? Did she come back?

It didn't matter though. Since, it was better for her to be here than there.

I hugged her tightly without considering the aftermath, even though she was to kill me after this, it won't matter as long as she was fine.

Accorsa was obviously shocked by the sudden hug, she stiffened but after hearing the sniffles of the little girl in her arms, she slowly and awkwardly put her hands on the child's back and patted her so as to calm her down.

Accorsa couldn't understand why the little child suddenly hugged her and cried but Accorsa knew that she wouldn't be able to console the little girl, since she had no consoling skills.

And an idea suddenly popped up and Accorsa immediately acted on it...

"Shh, don't cry. You'll be ugly if you cry."

Accorsa voice didn't sound as consoling as she thought it did, instead it had a mix of indifference and harsh truthfulness in it.

Children didn't want to be ugly, so the little girl would definitely stop crying if Accorsa said that... or so she thought.

I paused when I heard what the female lead said.

'You'll be ugly if you cry' repeated continuously in my ear.

Was that why Accorsa didn't make me act as a male heir? She wanted me to remain pretty so I can be sold off in a political or business marriage?

My head spun and more tears ran down my eyes. The tears I had been trying to stop ran down endlessly.

Meanwhile, Accorsa gritted her teeth. Now, she knew she wasn't caught up for this.

She quickly signalled Irene who had been standing quietly at the door like a statue.

Irene understood immediately and quickly walked up to them.

By this time, Tatiana had already stopped hugging Accorsa.

Her eyes brightened when she noticed Irene.

To Tatiana, her saviour had come to save her from the villainous female lead, who wanted to sell her off.

"Tiana." Irene called sweetly, while Accorsa watched.

"Did you have a nightmare?"

Tatiana nodded a few times in response to Irene's question.

"Do you want to talk about it?"

Tatiana shook her head in refusal.

She couldn't possibly say that she watched the female lead die.

Tatiana shuddered when she thought about it.

"It's alright if you don't want to talk about it." Irene held Tatiana's hands and smiled.

Accorsa had an almost unnoticeable scowl on her face as she watched the interaction between the two. It wouldn't be hard to do what Irene did but the way the little child treated Irene and Accorsa was totally different.

Accorsa left before Irene.

It was already time for breakfast and the maids had already helped me freshen up.

I still couldn't understand the dream I had but if it's what I think it is, then it meant that the plot had really changed, it had either been destroyed or shifted to a later date.

A lot of things that had happened since I transmigrated was either not written in the novel or different from what was written.

The door to my room opened and Irene walked in with a large smile on her face. Behind her was a little girl with short pink hair and emerald green eyes just like Irene.

It was Irene's little sister, Yvonne.
