14 Original male lead

I peeked at the hallway through the barely opened door before slowly stepping out of my room.

The hallway was empty, all the maids were nowhere to be seen and the whole Duchy seemed awfully quiet.

I didn't know the way to the meeting hall but it should be close to the living room, I walked towards the direction of the living room.

"Ah, aren't I supposed to be grown up by now?"

For crying out loud, aren't I supposed to have some advantage or super powers in this strange world?

I huffed but quickly continued when I remembered that the parlour was not that far from me.

"Hello." A voice sounded from behind me.

I smiled, atleast I finally found someone after walking alone for a long while.

I turned around and the person who was standing behind me was a man with light brown hair and black eyes, he had a bright and enchanting smile on his face. He was fairly good-looking and looked to be in his mid or late twenties.

His smile deepened and he bowed.

"It's my greatest pleasure to finally meet the second young lady of house Blithwine."

Huh?

What's going on here?

My head spun in confusion, I couldn't understand what this man was saying. What second young lady?

"I am Esquire Cadell Dewnes."

Esquire? That was a noble rank below that of a knight.

Huh? Wait?

Cadell Dewnes?

My eyes widened in realisation and shock, The Cadell Dewnes in the original novel was the man who broke Accorsa's heart.

Why was he here?

They were supposed to meet during that tragic incident that didn't happen.

He wasn't supposed to be in the Duchy.

I slowly backed away...

If Accorsa sees him, she might fall in love with him just like the original plot.

What should I do?

The smile I once found handsome and enchanting now looks scary and fake to me.

"What are you doing here?"

"Huh? Do the second lady not want me here?" Cadell Dewnes tilted his head, he crossed his hands behind his back and bent to my height.

"Perhaps, does the second young lady know who I am?"

I sighed...

"Where is my sister?" I asked calmly, so as to change the topic.

It would be weird to know an unpopular noble that I haven't met before.

"Your sister? The first young lady? Does the second young lady really see the first young lady as her sister?"

"Esquire, where. Is. My .Sister?"

I made sure to add a little more stress to every word I muttered, I also made sure to make his title and position obvious.

The smile on his face cracked but he was quick to cover it up with another smile. He blinked twice to hide his real emotions.

"I am truly sorry if I had offended the second young lady in any way." He bowed.

"Tsk." I clicked my tongue at his behaviour.

Trash was supposed to remain in the trash can below the feet of every normal person.

I took a deep breath to calm myself down, I turned around and there stood a lady with long white hair, Accorsa.

I smiled but the smile disappeared when I remembered that the original peasant male lead was still behind me.

Panic quickly washed over me.

If Accorsa sees him, the original plot would begin and she'll fall in love with him.

What should I do?

Her eyes were still on me but there was no guarantee that she'll not look at him soon.

An idea suddenly popped up and I was quick to act up on it... without thinking about it.

I ran to Accorsa and jumped on her, she was quick to catch me in her arms.

Accorsa raised her brow in suprise but sje then frowned and said.

"Don't jump on me when I have my armour on, you'll get yourself injured."

I nodded and wrapped my arms around her neck. Atleast for now, her attention would be on me.

But to my suprise, Accorsa turned her eyes to Cadell Dewnes.

He smiled at her and my heart skipped a beat, I gulped and watched her facial expression to see any changes but nothing happened, she glared at him with cold eyes.

"Who are you?" Accorsa asked coldly.

The smile on Cadell's face cracked and he's expression fluctuated.

"I am..."

"He is the son of an old friend." A cold manly voice came from behind, interrupting Cadell's introduction.

I turned to the direction of the voice and I met golden eyes that stared straight at me, his grey ashy hair was meticulously gelled back, giving the expression of a young gentle man but the look in his eyes were calm bit cold, in fact it was... scary. Herman Blithwine Fabian, the closest branch to the main Blithwine family and the only branch with the Blithwine name. Even though the name couldn't be passed down to his children because of the issues of right to inheritance.

Apart Accorsa and Tatiana, only one man had golden eyes in the whole of Pelonia. It was the first elder. Among all the elders, his name was the only one that was mentioned because of his viciousness and his wits that make it possible for him to trick and use people as it pleases him.

I shuddered in Accorsa's arms and she wrapped her hands around me, as if protecting or consoling me.

"It looks like the two sisters are quite close." The man spoke calmly.

"It's even better this way, the alliance would hold properly." He added with a cold smile.

What Alliance?

"I never agreed to any alliance." Accorsa said coldly, her eyes glowed fiercely.

"Do not make any decision on your own, Viscount Herman." Accorsa added coldly. "And do not bring the child of your old friend to my Duchy."

The first elder's lip turned up coldly, it was an obvious sign of anger.

"The servants would escort you and the rest of the elders out." Accorsa said and walked away with me still in her arms.

When she walked past Cadell, I rested my head on her shoulder and winked at him with a taunting smirk.

Cadell smiled with gritted teeth and bowed to me one more time before disappearing from my sight.
