58 Chapter 58

The next day, I woke up to find an empty apartment. Wondering what was happening, I activated the chakra in my shadow. It was a way to either call either of the siblings, or in my case, use it to find out if they are fine. Kind of like a ping; if they pinged back, it meant they were fine. We had developed a few codes for the pings as well. Once meaning they were fine, two quick meant danger, and one long and one short meant alert.

I received one ping from both of them. Still, I wondered where they were this early morning. After preparing a little breakfast for myself I sat to have my meal. A very quiet meal. Looking around, I noticed a few furniture missing. Was I robbed without knowing? Impossible. It felt weird but I suddenly felt I had an idea where my furniture and siblings went. I could only sigh in defeat.

After breakfast I made my way to the roof of the academy. There was something I needed to find out before leaving on my mission; Hopefully it goes well. On my way, I met Kakashi. I was beginning to feel he was stalking me. This was getting frustrating. It was a very silent and awkward walk to the academy.

We finally got to the roof, and thank god if I might add, he stood in front of me silently with his hands in his pocket. I knew what he was waiting for and I could tell he was getting a little anxious about it. Even after three or four minutes of standing there, he never said a word; just waiting for me.

"Do you want to hear a story, Kakashi-senpai?" He nodded and walked to the rails and sat beside me.

"A long time ago, there was a man that lived in this village. With his blade in his hands he fought happily and proudly as a member of the village. His contributions to the war was immense and his name spread far and wide, striking fear into the hearts of his enemies. The leaders of the village were happy they had such a capable shinobi in the village, but at the same time distraught over the power and support he was gaining. They had realized it too late, he had grown too powerful, in strength to take him head on." I could feel Kakashi's breath quicken slightly.

"Still, the leaders had to do something about it. So, they devised a plan. They sent the man on a mission with his team and forced the team in a terrible situation. As the commander of the team, when it came time for the man to choose between the mission or the lives of his team, he chose his team. That was when the higher ups began to spread the rumors. Vilified by the village, the land of fire, and his own teammates. Completely shunned by the same village that once praised him. Such a simple plan, yet such terrifying effects. Well, they do say simple is best after all." I paused and took out a candy and began to unwrap slowly. Blowing on it a little before putting it in my mouth. I took out another one and offered to the man who was now glaring at me with his single eye.

'Maybe I should not tease him at a time like this' I coughed before continuing, "Being shunned by those he considered family, brothers and comrades took a big toll on him, forcing him into depression. The plans of the higher ups had worked perfectly; They had gained the results they wanted and more. Unfortunately, they were not done. Not by a long shot. When he was finally at the lowest point, they sent them to attack. They say they made it look like suicide." At this point, Kakashi was trembling. I stayed silent waiting for him to finish processing everything. He already knew I was obviously talking about his father, Hatake Sakumo. He took a breath, organizing his thought; He had so many questions he wanted to ask.

"If you want to ask about the Third, then don't bother. As long as it does not threaten the village or if turning a blind eye would prevent the disruption of the village, he would gladly do it. He may be getting old but there will always be up and coming young shinobis, brainwashed to happily fight for their village. If any genius should appear, he could easily take them under his wing. The manipulation is easier from there. Fortunately for him, his lost 'Fang' had an even more genius son who served quite well. This village is rotten, but it will need someone to clean it up from the inside. You would have been perfect for it, if not for you circumstance."

This time Kakashi was quiet for a long time. Sometimes he would frown, sometimes he would clench his teeth in anger or sadness. He looked angry. Angry at himself for not noticing earlier. Angry at himself for doing the same thing his father did; Wallow in despair. He looked like someone who wanted to do something rash. I could see the rage and recklessness forming in his eye. There was not much to doubt. He had thought about it himself a few times, but tossed it to the back of his mind.

"That is why I said I did not respect you. You gave up. Even if the gift your friend gave you is holding you back, you put down your sword. No longer improving yourself. Eventually you would have found out the truth, then what? What if I gave you an even more shocking piece of news? What would you do with your stagnated strength?" He jerked his head to look at me. Shocked I knew his Sharingan was a gift from his friend.

"Tell me!" He spoke for the first time in a long time since I started the conversation. The glare in his eyes apparent, he looked like he was about to lose it soon.

"That is why I ask you, what would you do with it? Not only do you lack strength, you might end up getting yourself killed instead. You have a little brother now; one you have sworn to protect. If I told you, would you throw him away in order to enact on your revenge?" His glare remained but the recklessness had receded slightly. You could tell he had begun to think about his reason for moving forward in life now.

'Good. Now for the big finish.' I sighed at his continuous glare before deciding to tell him. "Uchiha Obito is still alive." His eye widened as he held unto the rail to prevent himself from falling. He stared at me wide eyes before getting angry. He grabbed unto my collar and yelled, "Do you this this is a joke?! Obito died! I saw it with my own eyes!" It was a good thing I put a silent seal around us; His voice was loud.

I sneered at his and calmly asked, "Did you really see him die? Did you find a body?"

"The place was completely buried in ruble, there was no body to find." I looked at him calmly. He was looking comical right now. Now I was truly eager to find out what he would do next.

"Did your eye evolve?" I asked him.

"Huh?" The question seemed to catch him of guard.

"Did your Sharingan evolve to the next stage?" He nodded absentmindedly before letting my collar go.

"You know nothing. The sharingan was never yours no matter how much of your chakra it keeps absorbing. Meaning you can evolve it to the three tomoes, but never to the Mangekyo Sharingan; Both eyes evolve together, and for for that, the original must be alive." That was absolute bullshit. I just pulled it out of my ass. I had no idea if it was true or not, and quite frankly, I did not care.

He stood there silent for a long time. Even after half an hour, he just stood there, staring at the sky. After a while, he took in a deep breath and exhaled slowly. "Thank you, Sakura. You are right. I have a little brother I want to protect now. I have wasted a lot of time and even worse, left my blade and I have become weak. I can only restart and hope I can find him and bring him back. Thank you." He spoke and bowed deeply to me.

I smiled and asked him to get closer. When he did, I lifted his headband, placed my hand on his eye and sealed his sharingan, to his shock. "What? You have seen the kind of seals I placed around. Oh yeah, I actually almost forgot about that. I need to give that to Naruto. Do you mind if I wait here for him?" Kakashi was still stunned in place, touching the eye that no longer drained his chakra.

He smiled. At this moment, there was no need for words. He walked away to meet his team. He had kept them waiting long enough. When he left, I reduced the silent seal to surround myself and looked down.

"Well, that went completely opposite of what I was expecting. Maybe I pushed it too much with the whole 'you are weak' thing? I assumed with hearing about Obito being alive on top of finding out about what happened to his father, he would definitely do something crazy; Even if not barging into the Hokage office for an explanation, then maybe rush out to want to meet his friend?" Then I heard a strained pull and a snap. I frowned and looked at the source. Turned out I held the bars to the rails so hard, I snapped them without realizing.

'Hm? Why? It should not have affected me this much. I only intended to have some fun. What am I even doing? What is the point of all this? Hmm. Maybe I am beginning to stray from my objective. Best focus on it.' I sat there contemplating quietly for a while.

[A/N: Consciously or unconsciously, power sometimes corrupts. Whether in a major way or in a subtle and unnoticeable way without us realizing. It is weird, but that was just what I was trying to portray here. As humans it happens every time we gain power; with or without us noticing. Maybe it's just stupid. Sorry. Anyways, we got to 1m views so bonus chapter. Whoop whoop. More chapters on the way. Still writing the chunin arc so more chapters on the way.]
