5 005: Beasts' Core

After finishing his ordeal with the trio, Arthur finally arrived in his cave with the two warhorses as his tribute for their nuisances.

He tied up those warhorses' rein on a tree near the cave's mouth so they could graze around while he continued his cultivation.

He took out the beast core that he got from the Black Iron Claw Lion. After he undid his Yang Qi that maintained its freshness, he could feel the small amount of Yang Qi essences droplets that contained within the beast core even though its size was just like a small glass marble.

'Haiyaa… My body is all bloodied just for a mere tiny beast core like this?' Arthur sighed in disappointment.

Back to his prime days, those pills-like beast cores were scattered around his chamber and leisurely snacking on them like peanuts.

However, he needed every bit of resources that he obtained and gulped down the beast core to absorb its Yang Qi essence.

A wild burning sensation spread through his whole body. He focused his Qi to his abdomen to suppress the rampaging Yang Qi from the beast core.

Absorbing a beast core directly without any herb medicines or a master cultivator to assist the process was utterly dangerous for someone who wasn't developing the Dantian yet.

But that's basic general information for orthodox cultivator. However, Arthur, who had reached Peak God Realm in his previous timeline, realized that Dantian actually already existed inside a human's body even when still inside the womb.

However, the Dantian was still hidden, until the latter accumulated enough Qi to be stored inside it.

So, Arthur accumulated his Yang Qi, swirled around the beast core to purify it and extracted its pure Yang Qi.

The process was very excruciating, one slight mistake and the beast core might explode, killing him instantly.

If Yang Qi resembles high heat energy, the hotter it gets the better. The beast core Qi energy was so hot, Arthur had to somehow overpower the beast core's energy and melt it with his own Yang Qi so he could melt the core and absorb it.

This technique itself was so fennèsse and requires absolute control of the Qi. The absorbing process also helps Arthur to temper his muscles, bones and his organs. Even strengthening every strand of his cells little by little.

After a few hours battling with the beast core's Qi, it finally melted coarsely. However, he still needs to purify the crude Qi into its purest Qi essences.

Arthur learned his lesson really well in his past life. Ones may bloated the dantian with overflowing Qi and boosting the cultivation level. Yet, purest Qi essences was very important to build a strong cultivation foundation.

Therefore, he didn't want to make a mistake again and lose to someone who was half size smaller than him. It was such a shameful experience when he met Ryuji for the first time and lost to him with just a simple move.

When he opened his eyes, a series of notifications popped up and showed him a holographic screen in front of him.

Arthur exhaled, it was such a nostalgic feeling for him. However, he was so excited how much stronger he could be if he did his cultivation diligently unlike in his previous life.

Without further ado, he allocated his Beast Point to level up his [Beast Imprint] into Level 2 so he could tame an Uncommon Rank beast or even a Rare Rank Beast, if he was lucky enough to find one, that is.

=====

"Hehe! Right then! What kind of beast should I tame?"

Arthur dove down inside his memories to recall endless lists of beasts that he encountered before. He aligned his memories with the environment surrounding him to narrow down the lists.

He needed to choose wisely so he wouldn't waste his time nurturing a beast that had low potential to evolve, furthermore, he needed a beast that was smart enough so he wouldn't have a hard time when training them.

"Since I'm in a mountain range, with lush rainforest in the valley, Reptile species would be nice. Agile, flexible, and importantly, they are smart creatures!"

Finally, one beast name piqued his interest.

"One Fanged Viper! Yeah, that snake would be a nice collection, easy to raise, less food, one head per month is enough for it. Its venom is also very deadly! Even Moon Realm Warriors could meet their God once they get pecked. If they ain't get immediate treatment, that is."

Thus, Arthur, on his longsword, untied the horse's rein and embarked to the mountain valley to tame his first beast.

He kept his sights onto the trees' branches where One Fanged Viper usually perched, waiting for its prey and snatched them at lightning speed.

After an hour wandering around, Arthur heard rustling noises and some movement at the tree branches. He stopped his ollA moment later, he finally recognized the snake, perched on the branch with its velvet eyes, glowing bright in the darkness.

"There you are!"

The size of creatures on Argoth was truly remarkable, even Uncommon beast like One Fanged Beast was ten meters in length, its body was almost one meter in diameter. Yet, that beast snake was relatively small compared to higher rank beasts who could grow into dozens of meters in size.

Unlike any other snakes with a pair of fangs, One ku, protruding 60 centimeters long outside its mouth.

Arthur shed a drip of blood from his palm to attract the beast snake.

"Come here, I have a little offering for you!"

!!

The beast snake launched itself to Arthur with a wide open mouth.
