Chapter 39 Flash back (part 2)

"Do I need to give you a personal notice for you to leave?" Jin Wei shouted at Kaiya, who sat on the ground, still a bit shocked by what was happening.

'Did he just save me from bullying? But why? Does he want something from me for saving me?' Kaiya's head was full of this thought, and because of this, she couldn't even hear what Jin Wei was saying anymore.

In truth, she just misunderstood, as Jin Wei wasn't helping her or anything he just wanted this room to himself so he would be able to finish his little fight with Ben and Ken, and then convince them to be his subordinate. But Kaiya believes that Jin Wei saved her.

Seeing her in this state, Jin Wei sighed. He noticed her eyes looked abnormal as if she didn't have any iris at all. However, he then saw a light purple border around her white iris. Jin Wei now realized that she wasn't someone who didn't have any iris or anything; it was just that they were unique.

"Are you blind?" Jin Wei asked curiously. However, he received no answer, as if she wasn't present in this world.

Jin Wei just sighed and got near Kaiya. Noticing someone approaching her, Kaiya instantly activated her ability. But this time she was shocked to her core.

"He is different!!!" Kaiya muttered in shock. Jin Wei heard this but ignored it as he didn't understand it at all.

Using Kaiya's ability she can tell what it is based on the light they emit. Even basic things like mugs, chairs, tables, trees, and cotton, everything emit light, and just like them humans do as well.

Humans' color is whitish blue. No matter how kind or cruel a person is, that color doesn't change. But Jin Wei was emitting a dark red light, and it looked extremely dangerous, as he was a predator and she was his prey. As if he can kill her anytime he wants.

But Jin Wei did no such thing instead, he just extended his hand toward her, and said in a gentle tone, "Come get up."

Kaiya was a bit speechless, as up until now, no one had been good towards her, either they just looked at her with disdain and completely ignored her or they just beat her up, to vent their frustration, as if she was their punching bag and they can use her anytime they wants.

Because in the current society, disfigured people are just like parasites, that live off the help of society and they are completely useless in the war, so everyone's attitude towards them is also bad.

But Jin Wei was different he not only saved her, but he also didn't look at her with disgust, or bully her, instead, he released an air of gentleness towards her, this was something that she didn't get even from her parents, so currently she was confused.

'He must have some other intentions behind his actions,' that's what Kaiya thought as she began to shake her head, trying to convince herself.

"Sigh, girl, I told you to grab my hand, didn't I?" Jin Wei asked in a soft but commanding tone.

Kaiya nodded and, with some difficulty, found Jin Wei's hand and grabbed it. Jin Wei then gently helped her get up from the ground.

"What is your name, girl?" Jin Wei asked curiously. Currently, her nameplate is covered by her blood, which is why Jin Wei couldn't read her name.

"I-it's K-Kaiya!!!" Kaiya replied nervously.

Jin Wei thought for a moment trying to remember if there was any character named Kaiya in the novel or not. But even after thinking for some time no answer came to his head, so he concluded that she was just some random extra like him.

"Humm, you have a nice name. As you can see, I need this room to settle some of my business. And, I need this room all to myself. So please go...and get healed." Jin Wei said in a cold but gentle tone.

Kaiya was now more confused. Didn't he save her for some other intentions? So why was he telling her to go? Kaiya couldn't understand the situation she was in. And she was now completely clueless.

"Sigh, come I will help you out." Jin Wei said and began to walk toward the exit while holding Kaiya's hand.

"Do you know the way home from here?" Jin Wei asked while she just nodded.

"All right then, you can go, I need to settle some of my business you see, and don't worry no one will bully you from now on." Jin Wei said and closed the door, leaving Kaiya again clueless.

She realized one thing, Jin Wei had no bad intentions toward her. He was her genuine savior, who saved her without asking anything in return.

But still, she didn't believe his last words as who would do anything to stop the bullying of some parasite like her?

But what she didn't expect was that the next day, those girls who bullied her came knocking on her door and begged for her forgiveness, while Ben and Ken, who were with Jin Wei yesterday, were behind them.

Although she can't see what someone looks like, still by the light one emits, she can also differentiate between people, and also remember the light. This helps her recognize a person no matter what disguise they take.

After that incident, she never got bullied again, almost everyone just ignored her.

"He kept his promise... He is truly my prince, my savior..." Kaiya thought.

Kaiya realized one thing: she had fallen for Jin Wei. But she also knew that she wasn't worthy of him, so she didn't dare to express her feelings toward him. Instead, she wished to be someone who could at least stay close to him.

The next day she noticed that Jin Wei didn't attend the first class. When she got the information that no combat class would be held that day, she went to search for Jin Wei and found out that he was training in the gym with Victoria.

She felt a sense of jealousy in her heart, as she saw Victoria with him. But then she noticed that just like Jin Wei, Victoria also had the same red light in her, although it's very weak compared to Jin Wei's but still it was the same.

This confused her; she couldn't comprehend why they were different. Are they not human? But then why does everyone treat them as one if they aren't one?

So, Kaiya thought her ability might have some problems, or the light might represent something different.

After a few hours of training, Victoria left but Jin Wei kept on practicing. And Kaiya kept on spying on Jin Wei from a far distance. And like that the nightfall, and Kaiya decided to head home.

But still, she couldn't help but worry. Jin Wei had been training for a whole day without a break, and she suspected that he might harm himself at this rate.

So late at night, after almost everyone in the academy fell asleep, Kaiya left her residence to see if Jin Wei was still training or not.

She hoped Jin Wei had gone back to his room, but after going to the gym, she found out that Jin Wei was lying on the ground unconscious.

She hurriedly got near him, checked his breathing, and sighed in relief.

"Phew!!! Nothing happened." Kaiya muttered. But noticed that it was cold outside. So she hurriedly went back to her room got her blanket and went back to the gym and used it on Jin Wei.

Fortunately, her roommate was a fat, lazy girl, she slept like a bear in winter hibernation. So no matter how much she entered or exited her room, her roommate didn't wake up.

She stayed in the gym the whole night; she didn't sleep but just kept staring at Jin Wei. Even though she couldn't see, she still wanted to know what he looked like. So she tried her luck and touched Jin Wei's face and body a few times.

Before Jin Wei got up, Kaiya left the gym and hid behind a tree at a distance. Then she used her ability and began to spy on Jin Wei again, realizing that he was training once more. After Jin Wei entered the gym's bathroom, she left.

However, she noticed that Jin Wei wasn't coming to class. Instead of waiting for the teacher, she went to search for him.

She found Jin Wei coming out of his residence, heading in the opposite direction of the class or gym. Curious, she began to follow him.

After about two hours, she noticed Jin Wei stopped in front of a dangerous crack, which she couldn't identify as she had never seen a portal before. Then she saw Jin Wei jump onto the dangerous crack.

Only one thought entered her head at that time: "Jin Wei is in danger; I need to save him."

What she didn't realize was that she was weaker than Jin Wei, so saving him seemed unlikely. Despite this, no rational thought came to her head at that time. Rushing toward the barrier, she, like Jin Wei, showed her wristwatch to it.

She heard a message asking for 10 points and confirmation. Without hesitation, even though she was poor and only had 10 points from the academy, she sacrificed them, hoping to save Jin Wei, her savior. As the barrier in front of her opened, she jumped into the portal to save Jin Wei, no matter what.
