41 Ch 41: Sea Monster

The river was so clear that a reflection of the moon could be seen on it.

The moonlight dimly illuminated the surroundings, revealing that the river was flanked by steep cliff faces on both sides, and its shore was littered with stones, big and small.

In the novel, it was said that the protagonist fell into the river and lost consciousness, only to wake up in a dark cave where he had his first fortuitous encounter. This meant that Valerius could locate that very cave by following the river's current. 

Ignoring the cries of the loser standing tall and menacingly at the cliff's edge above, he started his journey along the riverbank.

Something burst out of the water's surface, pouncing towards him with ridiculous speed.

Valerius, who was on high alert, caught sight of the monster from his peripheral vision. 

It was a reptilian creature, approximately 0.7 meters in length and about 0.3 meters in width.
