More problems?

Classes ended, and Peter walked towards the abandoned school again.

Unfortunately, a redhead was hesitating between whether or not to approach Peter, but after seeing how he left without caring about anything, Mary Jane just sighed dejectedly and left alone towards her house.

In the classroom, one person was looking at both people until they left. He gnashed his teeth hatefully and then he was gone too.

Whatever he was thinking, it would definitely be up to no good.

On the other hand, Peter was walking towards the abandoned school while he was looking at his phone.

"(sigh) Still nothing…. Is this thing broken?

Confused, Peter was walking as he thought about the system, when suddenly a van pulled up next to him.

"Hm?"

Peter stopped curiously in front of the police vehicle.

'Police? What will they want from me…?'

A young man got out of the vehicle. He was around 25 years old, and had a serious expression on his face as he approached Peter.

When he was in front of Peter, the officer was surprised at the calm and indifference on Peter's face. A normal teenager, he would be nervous and scared as to why a police officer was approaching them. But no, Peter just had a bored expression on his face, and that's it.

'A peculiar young man...' Was what the policeman thought as he spoke first.

"Are you Peter Parker?" he asked him bluntly.

Peter on the other hand, was silent for a few moments as he looked at the policeman in front of him as if he was analyzing him.

"I'm Peter." Peter answered curtly.

The policeman frowned for a few moments as he asked politely.

"I am Officer Dominguez. Peter, I need to ask you a few questions in light of what happened this morning at Mrs. Martha's restaurant. Please, I need you to accompany me to the police station to clarify the facts."

"…"

The policeman was somewhat nervous at the young man's silence. Of course, getting flustered around a teenager would be stupid and embarrassing for an officer like him. But Dominguez had seen on the restaurant recordings what Peter was capable of.

Not every day you see a boy not older than 17 years old, beat up a whole gang of criminals like children. One armed in this.

To his relief, Peter just nodded as he answered.

"No problem."

And with that Peter calmly climbed into the back of the vehicle.

The relieved officer was pleased when Peter made no trouble and cooperated by making his job less tedious. With that, the officer also got into his patrol car and after confirming that Peter was okay, he set out to drive.

The reason Peter agreed so easily was because Peter had experience with the police and knew it was best to cooperate early on so as not to get into even bigger trouble later. It's also not like he was going to behave like a naive rebellious brat, and he was going to refuse ignoring the consequences.

It wasn't a big deal either. Hopefully Peter was going to answer just a few questions, and then he'd be gone quickly. He just hoped May and Ben didn't find out about this...

In the car, the officer looked in the rearview mirror at a calm Peter who had his eyes closed and was humming a song he didn't think he had ever heard.

'Well, at least he's calm...' The Officer thought as he focused on driving.

*Epic Battle Ost*

For several minutes the ride was in awkward silence, when suddenly Peter's phone rang.

"Hm?" Peter picked up the phone from him.

A bead of sweat ran down the policeman's face as he heard the sudden, loud music that broke the silence. 'What an intense ringtone…'

'Who is it?' Peter wondered as he answered the call.

"Hello-

"Peter! It's me, Cindy!"

A familiar excited voice interrupted Peter on the phone. She sounded somewhat worried and scared.

"Cindy? I thought you'd call me in a few days. What happen?"

'What could have happened to this girl, for her to call me just a few hours after seeing us?' Peter was confused.

Fortunately, Cindy soon explained the situation.

"Peter… I'm sorry if I'm bothering you. I know I said she'd call you in a few days, but it's just…"

From Cindy's tone, she seemed to be a little nervous and it seemed that she was hesitating between saying something or not to Peter. Strangely, Cindy spoke again apologetically.

"N-no, it's nothing, hehe… It was just something silly and weird. Sorry to bother you Peter, see you soon…"

Cindy seemed to want to say goodbye…. She was clearly hiding something important. Normally Peter would let it slide and brush it off. But his intuition and senses told Peter that this seemed to be more important than it seemed to be...

And his instincts rarely failed.

"Wait"

Peter stopped Cindy from hanging up the call.

"I told you that if you need anything, you could call me, right? Also, I can hear it in your voice. Something happened to you."

On the other end of the line, Cindy looked surprised at Peter's words and warmth enveloped her chest. She did not knowwhat was this feeling in her, but she really liked it…

*Sigh*

With a sigh from Cindy, she finally spoke.

"Un, thanks Peter. It's just… When I got back home, strange things started happening to me… I think I got sick, hehe"

Peter could hear Cindy's dry laugh and he felt bad for her. She not only went through a traumatic event, but also now she got sick…

However, something told him that this was not all.

"There's something else, right?" Peter asked directly.

The silence lasted a few moments before Cindy spoke.

"….Yes, recently…a strange old man came to my house asking for me. This old man said some very strange things. Something about my responsibility, and how I have to be careful with my powers and my role in the world."

"…"

Peter just fell silent at the sudden information.

'Powers? What did she mean by powers?'

"Haha, sounds silly, isn't she like that? Yes, I, too, found it absurd." Cindy laughed sarcastically and continued. "But you know, Peter… For some reason I can't get Ezekiel's conversation out of my head- Ah! That is the name of that old man. Well, the reason I believe him is because I feel…different."

Peter was listening intently to Cindy's story.

In short, after Cindy came to her home and she was scolded by her parents for not going to the science exhibit. An unknown old man knocked on the door asking for Cindy. He introduced himself as Ezekiel Sims, then talked to the family about a bunch of silly details. In them was how Ezekiel could teach Cindy about her supposed powers. About how she had to accept her responsibility and role in the world, and how important it was to be chosen by a spider totem. This lasted a few moments, before the disgruntled family kicked the delusional old man out of the house.

Every time Peter listened, the more stunned he was.

This was absurd. How many strange things could happen in a single day? There were too many things to highlight in Cindy's story.

Cindy's strange health.

A mysterious old man.

Cindy's powers.

Responsibility and role in the world.

Spider totem.

Really, just thinking is exhausting…

Besides, this is all too sudden. Did all of this happen because Peter had contact with Cindy? Does Peter himself bring trouble to himself, and to those around him? Be that as it may, he should be more careful in the future and deal with these problems immediately.

Before Cindy could continue, Peter answered her.

"It's okay, Cindy. I'll come see you in a couple of hours. Just give me your home address and we'll work it out together."

"Ehh?!"

Cindy was taken aback by Peter's sudden and intimate request and jumped.

"W-wait, Peter! It is not necessary, besides…"

"I insist."

"B-but…"

"I insist."

Cindy felt like crying as her own words from this morning were returned to her. Peter really is a bad guy! She shouldn't have called him...

But strangely Cindy felt relieved and happy.

Giving in pitifully, Cindy agreed.

"Wuu... Okay, you win..." On a cute pink bed with stuffed animals scattered everywhere, Cindy dressed in pajamas settled on the bed and said. "I will send you my home address now. Also… Uhm, remember to bring my dad some wine. He is in a very bad mood."

"Wait what?"

*Click*

The call was cut off leaving a confused Peter staring blankly at his phone.

'Teenagers…'

Peter put the matter aside, and set about thinking about the next steps in his plan. He still had a long way to go.

At that moment, Officer Dominguez, who was driving, asked Peter playfully through the rearview mirror.

"Your girlfriend?"

"Hell no."
