1 New Beginning

In other anime and manga, whoever dies and gets reincarnated becomes the main character. but I became a side character. Here's a story about me. I'm Nolan, just your average guy who's a high school student. Well, how'd I die? One day, I was walking to my house, and there was a drunk truck driver on the road going at 80. I didn't see him and tried to walk past, and then BOOM, that guy hit me at 80. My body was blown to pieces. I thought I had died, but when I opened my eyes, I saw two people standing over me, smiling. And I tried to talk, but all I could come up with was WAAA and UWAHHHH. When I looked, I was in a child's body. I had been reincarnated, but how? I still have my memories. Let's learn more about it together.

At the age of 2, I learned to walk again. It was like you just accomplished a big dream you've been chasing. At the age of 3, I learned to talk, but I tried not to say some big words or sentences. Oh, and I forgot to introduce. I have two loving parents. My father is called Natan, who's a scientist working as a teacher in a magic school, and my mother is a retired ex-soldier who was one of the people from 10 Elite Squads who saved the world from the Demon God Aries. My father and my mother met on the war field. She saved my father, and they both fell for each other at first glance—pretty classic in my opinion. 

My father's name is Natan, from the Jackson family. His dad, who's my grandfather, is also an Elite Warrior, but he isn't from the 10 Elite Squads. He's from the White Knight's squad. It's called the White Knight Squad because the leader of that squad is called the White Knight. As far as I know, he was an unknown person who mysteriously appeared on the battle field and led us to victory. But in the process of the battle, the White Knight chose four people to be in the squad. Those people were from the 10 Elite Squads, including my grandfather. That war was called "The Demi War." After sealing Aries, the White Knight gave the four of his squad members a rune and then disappeared out of thin air. It's pretty interesting to learn who the White Knight was. Shortly after that, my mother joined the Magic Knights and became a general who'd led one of the 10 Elite Squads. After some war between the Magic Knights and The Spade, my parents married as my mother retired. My father became a teacher after that. 

At the age of 5, I learned some things about the White Knight. My grandfather said the White Knight's face was unknown. And he used some forbidden spells only the strongest of the strongest could use, including the Demon God Aries. The White Knight was wearing white armor that was made of some legendary materials; that's why it's given the name "White Knight." And about the rune, it was passed down to my father. My father said it'd be passed down to me when the time came. At the age of 9, I started going to the Magic Academy, which teaches us about basic spells and the anatomy of them. The magic system was really interesting.

There were three types of people with different magic systems. The first type was called "Mana User." They store mana in the core of their souls and use it to cast some spells. They regenerate mana depending on some factors, like their willpower. The second type was called "The Spirit User." They have a spirit that chooses a person to be their host. It was really rare to be chosen by one. And my mother was chosen by the Chi Spirit, which enhances her speed, strength, durability, and skills threefold. The last one is called "The Forbidden One." They could use and manipulate mana at will. They could cast any type of spell with or without chanting it out. They are also chosen by the spirits. School didn't teach much about "The Forbidden One," but I learned it when I was 8 by reading a book that my grandfather gave me. And the chances of being chosen by a spirit are 1 in 800 billion. There are currently only 5 people chosen by a spirit, and they are unknown.

And the interesting fact that the Magic Academy didn't teach us about in the first class is that everyone has their own unique spiritual energy spirit living inside them. Which are animals and mythical creatures.

Yeah, let's continue with my story. In 2nd grade, when I was 15, We started learning spells. For example, a fire ball, a water ball, a wind blast, etc. The most important thing is mana manipulation. 

Mana manipulation is very important since you have to control and adjust how much mana you have to use to cast each spell. And I'm not really good at it. In 3rd grade, we learned our mana types. There's a guy in my class chosen by the Flame Spirit. He was the top of my class, a teacher's pet, basically.

I'm just a normal Mage with Wind Traits. And I'm not chosen by any spirits. That's not cool, though. Anyway. One day, that kid who was chosen by the flame spirit challenged me to a duel to show off his skills. I was so confused, like he should've chosen stronger men other than me. 

I didn't want to accept it, but I did it anyway. Then the date was set. We were going to have a duel the week after on this same day. I told my parents about it. My mom was surprised, and she told me, "Wow, that's surprising. Being challenged to a duel by a spirit user, and do you know? Spirit users can sense how much mana each person has. That kid called Kyle must've sensed that you have large portions in you and decided to challenge you. Well, as your mother, I'm going to train you well."

I was shocked when she said she was going to train me. To get private training from an Elite Knight who was also chosen as a host by Chi Spirit.

Well, until that day, I guess I'm going to be getting private training sessions from my mother or The Elite Knight.
