16 ..Familiar?

The Snake turned away and put the gem on the ground pressing his head against it.

Kayden's body was still numb with the poison but he was able to move his mouth slightly.

''Gemini?'' He struggled to exert volume but all he got in response was silence which he found odd considering she usually spoke with him.

The Snake hadn't moved very far only in front of Kayden's feet, it was only focused on Gemini who was now silent.

It all seemed a bit strange, it looked like it had a goal to get Gemini from him from the start and the fact that Gemini was oddly silent. The snake itself didn't seem like it wanted to do anything harmful.

The Snake lifted up his head after pressing on Gemini and looked at Kayden with his head tipped down as if looking at his face as if studying him.

Then suddenly the snake started to change its appearance. Its body began to grow and shift into that of a girl with black hair and eyes. The white markings were only slightly visable as a human with lighter skin tone.

''Er..'' Kayden was a bit surprised at the first sight of an animal transforming into a Human, but he quickly moved his sight after seeing how she was now naked with apperance of a child.

''You can speak right?'' Kayden said

''....'' Her forked tongue came out licking the air then picked up Gemini.

She rubbed the gemstone once again as if trying to figure something out, it was like a puzzle to her.

''Gemini... are you okay?'' Kayden asked, Gemini had been messed around with by this snake but hadn't said a thing.

After awhile Gemini finally spoke but there was a bit of exaustion in her tone "I'll explain later...It's okay.. this snake is a friend.'' Gemini's words sounded calm but she was experiencing a lifetime of turmoil.

The snake in human form seemed thrilled that Gemini had spoken and it was pleased to hear her voice and smiled rubbing the stone.

Kayden was still unable to move properly due to the effects of the venom in his veins but Gemini's voice made him relax a bit, he knew that Gemini had remembered something of her past if she had recognised this snake it means she had memories before waking when he did.

''The posion should wear off shortly'' Gemini spoke to Kayden

''You know this snake?'' Kayden replied feeling a little more relaxed ready to hear a story

"Yes... it's my Familiar." Gemini replied with a sigh.

The snake in human form seemed excited with the news and smiled at the two of them.

The snakes name was Nyx, she was a young female snake and had been with Gemini since she was born, she was a very loyal snake and although she could not talk she understood everything that was said to her.

Through shared memories Nyx had allowed these to flow to Gemini, although not everything in Gemini's life was complete as it was only the view of the third party.

Gemini was a witch who lived within the territory of the last living Vampires, the ones that had survived from a long war between the races. She had been close to the leader of the vampires, Estevao, during her time there and was a line between the humans and the vampire race.

She worked with the council who at the time where the continent was still one and not split had selected members of each species, and although human Gemini was selected to be a member of the council to represent the Vampire race. Estevao put full trust in Gemini to be their spokesperson and with not many of their race left Gemini accepted this role.

After a few years there was some disruption amongst the council members and the rift became apparent. People were starting to disappear, the only link the Council had was back to the vampires. The countil strongly advised Gemini to take action and find the truth behind what was happening.

Gemini decided to investigate further, although only part of her trusted the council the other part was torn to think that something worse was happening. She would need to act quickly as the council members were getting desperate for answers.

What she discovered broke her trust, she found that the vampires she had once known were under control as slaves. Estavao had developed a way in which he could manipulate people to do whatever he wanted with his bloodline. Even worse is that he wished to extend this out to others and experimented with those who has disappeared.

Gemini was horrified at what she had learned, she needed to warn the rest of the council, she would have to go back to the council house and tell them about Estevao's plans.

The council was in agreement that they they must stop Estevao now. However such power was also quite tempting towards some races to use for their own greed.

Gemini suggested that she could take care of this herself, she was the only one who knew Estevao's secrets and held his trust. The human race disagreed and would send reinforcments along with Gemini to deal with Estevao.

Gemini was also known as the Great Witch, she was known for her duel magic abilities and theory of familiar taming. She had always been curious about the dark arts, the forbidden magic that was frowned upon by most. She was a very skilled sorceress and had a great understanding of magic which may have been the main reason for Estavao to get close. What Gemini did not know is that some of her research helped Estavao get closer to being successful in making absolute obedience.

When Gemini and the group of other humans came to subjugate Estevao, he was surprised but not afraid.

Both sides had losses, and in the end Gemini unable to kill Estevao with his regeneration tried to seal him away, such magic would usually result in the casters life being lost, however Estevao had his own plans at last moment he used soul switching resulting in the backlash of the spell. Gemini's body shattered and her soul fused with the nearest object, her memories gone.

Gemini thought Estevao most likely died in the clashing of their magic.
