Soon after a tall young man arrived and parked his Toyota rashly right in front of the two women as if he was going to run over them.

"Sorry sorry sorry. My bad." Ming Su stepped out of the car and chuckled. He had a boyish charm to his face that could lighten up any room like the warm sunshine.

"Now where are you two beauties off to in the middle of the night? Can a single guy like myself interest either one of you or both for some company? He He He."

"Dude. We are in a hurry. Step on it." Shen Zi pinched his ear mercilessly.

"Ok. Ok. Sorry." Ming Su quickly got back into the car. He was genuinely scared of Shen Zi and her atrocities. The woman was a pure devil sometimes.

"You go ahead, dear. I will return back to that hell hole now. If I am gone for any longer those bastards might start suspecting me." Shen Zi sighed.

Their whole world had been turned upside down in the span of an evening.

Song Yue nodded and got into the car. Though she seemed to be going through the motions, her eyes seemed lifeless and dull and lacked the usual mirth.

Ming Su promptly took off and Shen Zi as well returned to the apartment complex, after watching the car disappear down the road.

Shen Zi kicked a trash can lazily and wobbled forward acting as if she was drunk.

"What are you beauties doing here?" She chuckled coyly looking at the beefed-up men as she fumbled with her keys.

"Wait, is that Mr. Landlord, or am I hallucinating?? Sorry boss I will get your rent on time next month." She put on a big drunken smile and fake bowed to the middle-aged man.

The landlord shook his head in annoyance. This is what he had to deal with in this shabby complex. He really needed to save money fast and remodel this shitty place.

Watching the young woman slur a few words and opening her room door, the landlord clicked his tongue and asked her. "Where is your neighbor?"

Shen Zi's eyes subtly widened but she still managed to continue her act.

"That bitch. I hope she dies. Always acting as if she is holier than though." She muttered half coherently and half-incoherently and disappeared into her room.

"Useless. Let's wait for a bit longer." The landlord looked at the men in front of him and scoffed angrily.

At least he was getting paid a hefty sum as compensation for all this nonsense.
