"Where the hell is Maz?"

I look around. I try to get up to look for him, completely forgetting that I can't.

"Ugh, fuck! System! Is there any way I can move or call for someone?"

(Answer: It is not the Systems job to solve your problems.)

I groan in annoyance. 'Well, I guess this is a good time to test how loud this sundial can yell.'

I take a breath, which obviously didn't do anything as I didn't have a voicebox and I can't even breathe.

Whatever, it helps me envision yelling louder. "HELLO?! IS ANYONE THERE?!"

I heard running to the room. I sighed in relief, as I fully expected nobody to come.

"Lord Matthias! Why are you screaming?"

"Well, I can't exactly move around and get someone, can I? I have to get your attention another way."

"What do you need?"

"Maz. He's been gone for a while. Could you go get him for me?"

"Yes, Lord Matthias!"

'System, how do I turn concepts into Clocks?' I continue a little on the last train of thought I had.

(Answer: It is not the Systems job to teach you how you COULD use your powers, only how TO use them.)

I sigh. 'This System really is giving me the bare minimum, huh?'

(Defiant Comment: It is not the Systems job or problem to give you more.)

A metaphorical vein twitches. 'Isn't your whole purpose to help me survive?'

(Defiant Answer: You are an Eldritch. You would survive even if the Systems purpose was to kill you.)

"Lord Matthias!" A young voice calls from the door.

I ignore the System and it's slightly foreboding comment to look at the doorframe.

"We apologize, Lord Matthias," Koshia continues on Maz's call of my name. "Maz could not find me in the village as I was out scrounging for berries and shrooms."

'I hope they are at least edible for the people, I don't know how knowledgeable the people of this time are.' "We have made a lot of preparations. Is it not time to announce to the people of the new Theocracy?"

They both stayed silent for a moment. Then Maz spoke up. "What so we even say?"

I smile. "I have a short speech prepared, I'd recommend that you two make one as well."

'System, what's the time?'

It responds simply by opening the menu.

(Defiant Answer: Figure it out yourself.)

'Damn, you on your period today?'

The clock in the menu said '11:09AM'.

"How about we give the speeches at 12:00PM?" I propose to the two of them. "50 minutes should be plenty of time."

"Lord Matthias?"

"Yes, Maz?"

"What is a minute?"

I sweat drop. "A minute is a measure of time. 60 of them makes up an hour, which is each of these numbers on this sundial."

He comes quickly to closely inspect the sundial, which I am genuinely surprised he hasn't done before.

He gasps. "It's pointed towards that symbol now! It wasn't before!"

I sweat drop again. 'These people don't know numbers? And what do you mean again? You looked ay it before? When?' "Each of those symbols are called numbers, and they represent a count."

"I know what a number is, but we don't have a written form of numbers!"

'You don't have a written form of anything!' "Well, the number that it is pointing at is eleven. The number clockwise of it is twelve. The next is one. Then two, and so on."

"So when the shadow points toward twelve, we will do the speeches?" Koshia piped in, surpising us both as she was completely silent during the whole excange between Maz and I,l.

"Yes! Glad you got it so quick!"

"Got it!" She seemed determined.

I smile. "I'd recommend that you start thinking something up as well, Maz!"

"Okay!"

And for the next hour, they were silent, except for the occasional mumble from Koshia and the guard that came in saying that they were able to catch a tresspasser.

'Another person? So there are definitely civilizations and society outside this village! That could complicate some things, but it will likely be great for the future.' I think about the intruder as Koshia mumbles "How would they take that?…"

"Do we have a cell that we can use?"

"Yes, Lord Matthias, A wooden one behind this Chief's house." Replied the guard that came to give the news.

"Hold him there for now. I will talk to him personally." The Geneva Convention isn't here in this world, nothing is stopping me from "Wrongfully imprisoning" him.

"Yes, Lord!"

So he left quickly, and with around 10 minutes left on the clock, Maz and Koshia were starting to finalize their ideas.

"You there, send a messenger around the town telling them to come to the front of the Chief building. Also, get someone to put something like a box there for us to stand on."

"Yes, Lord Matthias!"

Maz was silent and Koshia was tapping her foot on the ground.

I smile slightly. "You two seem nervous."

"We are!" Maz complains.

"It will be fine. We may have problems in the beginning but soon, this will all slowly turn into something beautiful. People will love you for what you did for them."

Maz seemed to calm down at that.

In the distance, I heard, "The New Chief of the village has an announcement! Come to the Chief building immediately!" Being repeated over and over as the messenger ran through the 17 house village.

Maz and Koshia approached the double doors to the outside, with Maz holding me in his arms.

"Are you two ready?"

"No." They both answered at the same time.

"Me neither." I reply simply, trying to give them courage.

Maz seemed a little more determined, but Koshia didn't.

It wasn't long before we heard voices outside, all saying the same things.

"What is happening?"

"Who is it?"

"I hope that the person is better than that Ekaku."

I smile. "I will go first, alright?"

Maz and Koshia both nod.

The earless guard and a guard who looked like he hadn't slept in two days approached us, and started to open the doors.

10's of people stood outside, waiting for us. An impressive amount, considering that I hadn't seen a single farm or anything being sold yet, although that's likely because I've been focused on getting here in the first place. A large box stood right in front of all the people, were Maz set me.

I prepared myself.

"Hello, everyone."

"I am the God of Time."
