14 Ch 11: I am a Maraca

It's… Quiet.

My thoughts… Are quiet.

I open my eyes. A white world with nothing more than a sun and a single clock greets me. I found that my head is clearer here, as if something about this dimension simply connected with me.

"System, how much time passed?" I say, slightly groggily, as if I slept for years.

(Answer: you meditated for 46 years.)

"WHAT?!" I immediately float upward in a hurry, trying to reach my sundial.

(Answer: Of course not. You meditated for 12 hours and 14 minutes.)

I slow down and sweat drop at the System fucking with me, but I ignore it. I calmed down and said "Status."

———

Name: Matthias

Age: 92 Days

Race: Eldritch

Status: Healthy

Mental Status: Moderately Healthy

Representation of Mana: 77MP/150MP

Representation of Mana Recharge: 1MP per 11 hours 55 Minutes.

Current mood: Refreshed/Happy

———

"So 4 people started to believe in me since I last checked the status screen, huh?" I think, doing some quick math.

"Hmmm, that should be the earless guard, Koshia, and… maybe the woman who I didn't punish for not recognizing me at the gate?"

(Answer: That is correct, Host.)

"Then who is the third?"

(Answer: The third individual's name that started to believe in you is 'Ekaku'.)

"Wait, what?"

(Host seems to misinterpret the meaning of worship. Worship can be both positive and negative. Positive worship could be something as healthy as what humans did on Earth for the Christian God. Negative worship could be something such as a sacrifice, which will give you the mana that normal worship does, but isn't recommended to Eldritches due to the mental problems that sacrifices cause.)

"So because Maz sacrificed Ekaku, I got his mana anyway?"

(Answer: That is correct, Host.)

"Well that's convenient, don' you think?"

(I do not understand the question.)

"Nothing." I reply simply, slightly suspicious. I reach for the sundial, then I pulled back, hesitating.

"System, wasn't this a clock before?"

(Answer: A sundial is a clock.)

"No, like, a different clock."

(That is correct, Host.)

"Why did it change?"

(Answer: Clocks represent you. If you do not know how you look, how should the things that represent you understand how they should look either? You understood a clock as a literal clock, which is why it manifested itself as such. Now, however, you know that it is a sundial, and as such it understands that that is how it should look.)

I simply take that information in as I continue to reach for the sundial.

10:45Am

Chieftain House

*ERROR*

-

My vision shifted into a place where for some reason everything was shaking.

'What?'

"Lord Matthias! Wake up!" Maz screamed as he threw around the sundial.

I sweat drop. 'Oh, that's why I am shaking.' "Maz! I am awake!"

"Ah! Lord Matthias! Why did you not wake immediately?"

"Do you remember how I told you gods are spiritual beings? I was staying in my domain, resting."

"Ah, right! How this isn't your body and it is like a second house?"

"That's a unique way to put it, but yes."

"Well, I needed you to wake up! Sorry if I caused trouble!"

"Why did you need me up so bad?"

"Ma accepted! Ma's gonna be the Pope!"

I smile. "Wonderful! Now we can announce the new government to the people!"

"Yes!"

"Where is she?"

"I'll go get her!"

He simply set the sundial that I was in back onto the block of wood that resembled a table and left, going to look for Koshia.

So I waited. I can't exactly do much as I wait, I am immobile!

I sigh. 'I really need to find a way to get moving around, being stuck here is incredibly inconvenient.'

"Wait… I have an Idea! System!"

(Yes, Host?)

"Can I shrink my exact position in a clock and move around inside that clock?"

(Answer: Host, the System has told you many times that you can do anything with the Clocks.)

I smile. If I turn the planet into a Clock, which will work as the planets spin makes each day, and I shrink myself to the size of a human, I could finally move!

But that begs the question, will the System allow it? So far, the System has been very lenient on what is a Clock and what isn't. The sundial made sense, it is literally a clock. The sun? Yeah, people use it to tell the time. That's a clock, alright!

But the planets spin? It is just a representation of time, as opposed to something that can actually tell you it.

"System?"

(Yes, Host?)

"Can I turn the planet into a Clock?"

(The System does not determine what can or cannot be a Clock. You do.)

"W-What?"

(The Host appears to be confused. Initiating explanation procedure.)

(Clocks are the things that represent you, as an Eldritch of Time. YOU determine what has the potential to tell time. The System merely determines your belief in whatever you are attempting to turn into a Clock. If you believe it can tell time in any form, then the System will allow you to do as such. Otherwise, it will not be accepted and the Clock Creation skill will fail.)

'Interesting… I guess that anything can be a Clock, huh?' I can't help but start to think of brilliant, but insane ideas. 'What if I turn the matter decay into a Clock? Hmm, no, although it sounds cool, I don't know what will happen if I do that. Matter decay is extremely broad, I could very likely just be bombarded with so much information at once from one Clock that my metaphorical brain would explode.'

'What if I turned the lifespan of Eldritches into Clocks?

No, that's impossible, the Clock Creation skill said I needed to see what I'm making into a Clock. Wait, but that means I can't turn concepts into Clocks! But I know I can in the future, that's what the System told me!'

'Where the hell is Maz?' I start to wonder where he went.
