Apocalypse Have arrived

[Let's burn it down.]

"That's a good ide- cough cough," Astarion started to agree before he caught himself, realizing what he was about to condone.

"Sol, what do you take me for? Do you think I'm a monster who would burn down an entire city just because I feel like it? I am a law-abiding citizen. I won't do anything that is against the law," Astarion said, his voice dripping with sarcasm.

"That's why we'll burn down this city during the apocalypse," Astarion concluded.

After a few minutes, Alex returned with the ownership transfer documents for the Wraith Mountain. As he entered the room, he announced, "Young Master, these are the documents for the Wraith Mountain's purchase."

"You guys seriously are old-fashioned. I mean, who uses paper documents in the current era?" Astarion remarked as he examined the documents.

"Hahaha, but that's what makes us unique, isn't it?" Alex let out an awkward laugh and replied. To be honest, he received this question every time, and it always left him feeling embarrassed. However, the clan head of the Nexus clan was an old-fashioned individual who insisted on preserving traditional practices.

"Anyway, Young Master Astarion, I have contacted some other Nexus towers, and we can secure the amount of gold you want in less than six hours. But you need to transfer half the money right now as an assurance," Alex mentioned.

"Okay, I'll send it to you right after this," Astarion said as he signed the ownership documents for the Wraith Mountain. Then, he took out his phone and transferred the money for everything—the gold, the Wraith Mountain, and the crystal iron sword.

Although he usually let Sol handle such transactions since it only required a thought to transfer the money with Sol's assistance, he didn't do so this time to avoid arousing Alex's suspicions.

Soon, the money was transferred to the Nexus Tower's account—a total of 3.5 billion Cresto, with 2.5 billion as an assurance for the gold and a billion for the Wraith Mountain.

"We will have your gold delivered to your mansion on Wraith Mountain soon, Young Master Astarion," Alex said respectfully as he prepared to leave the room.

"Oh, yeah, Tower Master Alex, those who are delivering the gold to Wraith Mountain, have all of them killed," Astarion casually mentioned to Alex as he was leaving. He made this request because he didn't want anyone to know about the gold he possessed.

"Of course, Young Master. I will ensure they are all dealt with," Alex responded in a respectful manner. He was accustomed to such requests when dealing with the four great clans or any powerful family, as these groups preferred to keep their wealth and

As for the staff of the Nexus Towers who could potentially leak information, they also had no chance of doing so. Even if they dared to spill the beans, the Nexus Clan would swiftly deal with them, and there was a real risk that their families could also suffer consequences. Hence, no one dared to divulge any secrets.

4 hours later

"Young Master Astarion, the gold has been purchased and delivered to the mansion on Wraith Mountain," Alex entered the room once again, this time holding a metal box in his arms.

"As for your crystal iron sword, it's right here," Alex said as he opened the metal box, revealing the sword within.

The sword was as transparent as crystal, true to its name, and it possessed a uniquely cool appearance.

"This is good, but did you complete the task I requested?" Astarion said as he stood up from his seat and took the sword into his hand.

Hearing this, Alex smiled and replied, "Of course, Young Master Astarion. All the men who transported the gold to Wraith Mountain are no longer alive."

Then, Astarion took out his phone once again and transferred the rest of the payment for the gold, which amounted to 2.5 billion Cresto, and an additional 1 million Cresto for the sword. This left only 499 million Cresto in his bank account.

Astarion then took his sword and began to leave the Nexus Tower. One could say that he had no doubts about the Nexus Tower potentially scamming him regarding the gold because he was the only one aware that the apocalypse would begin tomorrow. Nobody else had any inkling of what was to come.

And no matter how substantial 5 billion Cresto might seem, it was not worth making an enemy of even a branch of the Vastaril clan, especially not on the eve of the apocalypse.

But as soon as he exited the Nexus Tower, he witnessed something bizarre, extraordinarily bizarre. The sky was suddenly covered with numerous blue vortices that seemed to block even the sunlight, casting everything in the glow emitted by them.

"Huh, what's that?" many other people who saw the sky, either said or thought.

But as Astarion gave a closer look at the vortices, he immediately recognized what they were.

"It can't be. The apocalypse was supposed to arrive at 12 o'clock, but it's only 6 right now," Astarion thought to himself.

[Congratulations, Master. The apocalypse has arrived, and you are fucked now.]

Hearing Sol, Astarion said with an annoyed tone, "Sol, if you had a face, I bet it would be a very punchable one."
