Chapter 10

Aramor didn't follow me. It's pointless for him to label himself as my guard if he doesn't follow my orders himself.

I pressed the button near the exit door; just as I was about to step out after the door opened, suddenly two guards in front immediately blocked me.

"Please return inside, Master Evander; you cannot leave the training grounds."

"I'm not part of the knights! I want to leave!"

I tried to rebel and push them both, but with just one shove, I was bounced back into the all-white room.

"Master Evander, return inside."

I turned to the source of the voice coming from behind me. Aramor stood there, extending his hand towards me.

"I will never go back in there! I'm not the knight you want me to be! Please find someone else!"

The front door immediately closed; the two guards who had blocked me were no longer visible. Now it was just me and Aramor alone in this white room. Should I just punch Aramor in the face? But his strength must be greater than mine. Damn, now I'm really in a dilemma.

"No, you can't; you must participate in the fight against Garlen CXV, you've been chosen. I know how difficult it is to follow the training, but remember, Evander, you've been reborn into this world, you just need to be serious and patient in everything you do. You have great strength, Evander," Aramor replied.

"I don't need your motivational words. Whatever it is, I'm not going back in there. Handle everything yourself; don't involve me again!"

Aramor seemed annoyed with my stubbornness and refusal to comply with his wishes; he stared at me sharply and grabbed my shirt.

"I don't want to be rough with you. But you're asking me to. You and I are the same; we both have been given the chance to be reborn in this world. You must realize, Evander, everyone has their own time. I hope you understand and stay here. Even if you ask for death, The Hailord will not grant your wish."

I have no choice anymore; even though I was born with new strength, my fear of people when they threaten like this will surely make my resolve waver a little. Furthermore, Aramor is a chief warrior; I might end up dying twice because of his big hands.

Damn.

"Let go of my shirt; just because I've always been bullied in my past life, you think you can press me and be ruthless to me."

That was just a sentence to show that I'm not afraid, even though I'm very nervous.

"I'm sorry. So?"

Aramor asked, releasing his grip on my shirt and stepping back from his position.

"Why are you asking again? You already know I can't leave this world, right? Okay, I'll go back and finish all the training. But I can't promise not to beat them up like what happened to Carsten."

"I never had an issue with that. Actually, I'm glad you stood up to the ones who bullied you. He deserved it, but one other thing, you also have to be prepared to face the consequences when dealing with one of the three knights. Because they are--."

The front door suddenly opened, Aramor's sentence was interrupted, and we found a man in a gray jumpsuit, his clothes filled with white lines, appeared with a face full of emotion. He immediately shifted his gaze to me and shouted, "How dare you hit Young Master Carsten!"

He intended to throw a punch at me. But my reflexes were good enough to dodge, causing him to stumble due to losing balance.

"You!"

The thick-bearded man shouted at me again and tried to approach me again, but Aramor immediately blocked him.

"I apologize, Sir Patt; you cannot attack Master Evander like that," Aramor exclaimed.

"Why not? He attacked my nephew! Young Master Carsten doesn't deserve to receive blows from a strange and lowly man like him! Huh! The Hailord is a foolish god who can create and make filthy scoundrels like him among the three great knights!" Patt exclaimed.

I remained silent. I wanted to see what would happen next, and at the same time, I was also looking for an opportunity to beat him up.

"Please respect Master Evander as one of the four warriors who will save the earth, and you cannot speak ill of The Hailord, Sir Patt. Master Carsten should get hit because he disturbed Master Evander."

"Then, are you defending him? You are a leader of warriors who have no dignity at all, Aramor! You defend a foolish man like him!? Ridiculous!" Patt said with full of emotion.

I was getting tired of listening to Patt's ugly voice and his face that looked like a starving bear. I approached him and gave him a crooked smile.

"I didn't ask Aramor to defend me. But what he did was the truth. As my guard, he must be able to protect me from fools like you, Patt, or should I call you ugly bear? Aramor is just like your nephew's guard; he always defends Carsten when he insults me. Isn't this supposed to be a fun fight? If he's a knight, he shouldn't be deterred by the attack I gave earlier, right? Garlen CXV, whom we will face, is much more dangerous than my punch. He can retaliate at any time. Maybe he should be suspected; he's chosen as a knight but can't even fight a supposedly weak man, even has to send an outsider to meet me."

I was proud of myself! I could say cool things and remain calm when Patt looked at me as a bear who hadn't eaten for two months.

"I will not--."

"Your time is up, Mr. Patt."

Suddenly, two guards entered and immediately dragged Patt's body away. He struggled and shouted, "LET ME GO! I HAVEN'T FINISHED YOUNG MASTER CARSTEN'S ORDER TO BEAT HIM UP! HE MUST BE TAKEN OUT AND IMPRISONED!"

The two guards ignored his screams. They took Patt's body out along with his ear-piercing screams. Once the door closed again, Aramor immediately gave me a pat on the back.

"Well done; you faced it bravely and calmly. I'm sure you were nervous inside, right? You must be able to control your fear and trauma from your previous life like this. Your courage is very valuable, Evander," Aramor said.

"Then, what about Carsten?"

"Your punch earlier was at least a warning for them not to treat you badly. Don't worry about Patt's disturbance. Actually, no senior officials are angry; as proof, only Patt came, right? This means your actions weren't bad in the eyes of the senior officials. Now, it's time for you to go back and finish your training today."

Aramor looked at me hopefully. The only thing I could do now was to take a deep breath and nod as I went back into the training room.
