Male and Female

After witnessing the spectacular evolution ceremony, Marlon and his group marveled and left the scene. Several of them continued to move in the direction of the ruins.

The Pinwheel Forest was vast, with Nacrenes City, Striaton City City, Accumula Town, and Nuvema Town scattered along its edges. The outer and central regions were a paradise for most trainers to train in, while the inner areas were rarely ventured into.

The location of the ruins that Yuga and his group were heading to was right where the Pinwheel Forest's central and inner regions intersected. Passing by the Moss Rock, they weren't far from their destination.

Yuga and his group were led by Marlon and Roxie, arriving at a massive sinkhole. Gazing at the immense chasm, Sora asked, "Is the ruin you mentioned down there?"

Marlon nodded and said, "That's right. Initially, both Roxie and I stumbled upon the ruins down here. The location is well-hidden, making it hard for most people to find."

Beneath the sinkhole lay a small-scale ecosystem. Looking down from above, they could see the dense forest, tranquil lake, and playful Pokémon inside the sinkhole.

Vine: "Are we going down there now?"

The sinkhole was enormous and deep, surrounded by cliffs on all sides. The only way down was by using Flying Pokémon.

Marlon nodded, saying, "Let's go down. We don't have time to waste."

Everyone agreed and released their Flying mounts.

After mounting their Flying Pokémon, Yuga and his group followed behind Marlon's Swanna and Roxie's Crobat, flying directly to the location of the ruins beneath the sinkhole.

They landed near a pond beneath the sinkhole, and the surroundings were eerily quiet. Not a single wild Pokémon was in sight, which puzzled them.

"It seems like this place might be occupied by some Pokémon. There used to be many wild Pokémon here, but they seem to have disappeareds, Please be careful." Marlon cautioned while looking around vigilantly.

"Where is the ruin located?" Yuga also scanned the area but couldn't identify any place that seemed like a ruin unless it was beneath the pond.

"It's right beneath the pond," Marlon said. "But the Pokémon that have taken over this place might also be underwater."

Sure enough, it is under the water pool, Yuga thought.

Yuga suspected that the Pokémon occupying the area were indeed underwater, possibly Ghost-type Pokémon. He could clearly sense Ghost-type energy emanating from the water's surface.

"Let me check the situation in the pond," Yuga suggested.

He signaled to his Dragonair, which flew over the pond and stopped in mid-air. Blue water energy began to envelop Dragonair's tail, and then it extended into the pond, creating a massive vortex.

This was Dragonair's Aqua Tail, which stirred up the water in the pond. Soon, a large whirlpool appeared on the surface.

As the vortex's rotation speed increased, Yuga felt the Ghost-type energy inside intensify. Subsequently, two large shadowy orbs shot out of the water's surface, heading towards Dragonair.

Seeing the orbs approaching, Dragonair calmly lifted its tail that was surrounded by water energy, left and right, and slapped the two shadowy orbs away in succession.

The two orbs landed on the rocks and grass beside the pond and exploded violently. After the explosions, two figures emerged from the pond.

Jellicent!

The two Pokémon that emerged from the pond were a male and a female Jellicent, unique Water and Ghost-type Pokémon native to the Union region.

Seeing these two Jellicent, Yuga and his group finally understood why there were no other Pokémon around. Jellicent, like many Ghost-type Pokémon, possessed the ability to absorb life energy from other creatures to protect their territory.

Absorbing life energy is an ability that many ghost-type Pokémon have.

The levels of these two Jellicent were 51 and 52, making them formidable beings in the central region of the Pinwheel Forest. It was no wonder no other Pokémon dared to approach this area.

Marlon said, "I didn't expect two Jellicent to appear here out of nowhere. They weren't here before."

Marlon had a male Jellicent himself, so he was quite familiar with these Water-type Pokémon.

After emerging from the pond, the two Jellicent saw that their peace had been disturbed by Dragonair. Without hesitation, they combined their Omnious Winds, forming a blackish wind pillar that blew towards Dragonair above the pond.

Dragonair, upon seeing this, opened its mouth and released an Blizzard , colliding with the Omnious Winds. Dragonair's mother, Dragonite, was skilled in using Ice-type moves. Likely due to genetics, Dragonair was proficient in Ice-type moves as well.

Dragonair used Blizzard not to attack the two Jellicent but to defend against their Omnious Winds. After all, Water-type Pokémon had strong resistance to Ice-type moves, and Jellicent had good Special Defense. Therefore, Blizzard's damage, even if it hit them, wouldn't be significant.

At level 50, Dragonair was on par with the two Jellicent in terms of levels, so even in a two-on-one situation, Yuga and Dragonair weren't at a disadvantage.

"Yuga, do you need any help?" Brawly called out from the back.

Yuga shook his head. "Dragonair can handle this."

"Dragonair, use Thunder Wave!"

After Yuga's command, a golden surge of electrical energy emanated from Dragonair. It morphed into an electric net that enclosed both Jellicent. The net had a grid pattern, making it more likely to hit the target.

Dragonair's ability to control electricity is extremely strong. It imitates the Electroweb skill of Vivillon, changing the Thunder Wave from the original spherical shape to a net shape, making it easier to hit the enemy.

The relatively slow Jellicent were easily caught in Dragonair's Thunder Wave. As a result, both Pokémon were paralyzed, and their movements were restricted by the electricity.

After being struck by Dragonair's Thunder Wave, the female Jellicent attempted to use Water Spout but failed due to her paralysis. Only the male Jellicent managed to execute Water Spout successfully.

Water Spout is a powerful Water-type move, equivalent to Fire-type Eruption. It deals tremendous damage when the Pokémon is uninjured. Not many Water-type Pokémon can learn this move, but conveniently, Jellicent, the type this Pokémon belongs to, possesses the conditions to learn it upon evolution.

The massive water column, controlled by the male Jellicent, rushed towards Dragonair, but it only struck Dragonair's afterimage. Dragonair used its Swift skill to dodge the attack.

Both Jellicent have the ability Water Absorb, not Cursed Body, so there's no worry about being immobilized due to paralysis when attacking them.

Evading the male Jellicent's Water Spout, Dragonair counterattacked with a Thunderbolt. However, it didn't target the male Jellicent; instead, it aimed at the female one, who was still paralyzed and unable to evade. The Thunderbolt hit her directly.

Upon being hit, the female Jellicent screamed in pain as she plummeted from the sky.

Seeing the injured female Jellicent, the male Jellicent panicked. It rushed frantically, intending to rescue her. Taking advantage of its disarray, Dragonair struck again with Thunderbolt, hitting the male Jellicent this time.

Both Jellicent were already paralyzed, but the male Jellicent had not triggered the paralysis earlier. Now, however, it succumbed to the electric shock brought on by Thunderbolt.

Electric currents flickered across the paralyzed Jellicent, their faces contorted in agony. Dragonair's second Thunderbolt attack incapacitated them.

Observing the incapacitated Jellicent, Yuga asked the others, "Does anyone want to capture these two Jellicent?"

The other trainers shook their heads. None of them had any intention of capturing these Jellicent. While they recognized the Pokémon's potential based on their battle prowess, they weren't Water-type or Ghost-type trainers. Additionally, Marlon already had a Jellicent, so there was no reason for them to capture them. Adult Pokémon couldn't be sold for profit, so capturing them served little purpose.

Seeing that none of the others wanted the Jellicent, Yuga didn't hesitate to throw two Poké Balls to capture them.

Although the others didn't understand why Yuga, primarily a Grass-type trainer, would capture two Water-type and Ghost-type Jellicent, they refrained from prying.

Trainers rarely delved into each other's secrets, even among close friends. Pokémon and their training were personal matters, and curiosity about them was usually avoided.

After storing the Jellicent in Poké Balls, Yuga asked Marlon, "What's the situation below?"

Marlon replied, "You'll see when we go down."

After his response, Marlon recalled his Flying mount and released his Samurott. According to Marlon, the pond was quite deep, and Water-type Pokémon were needed to descend. Marlon has many Water-type Pokémon, enough to help everyone get down.

However, Since Yuga had Dragonair, which was skilled at underwater navigation, he didn't require a Water-type Pokémon.

Sora also had a Water-type Pokémon, a powerful Feraligatr from his hometown. Despite not having a strong connection to the League, he had received support from his hometown's mayor early on to secure a spot to establish a Gym. As a result, he had the assistance of a Feraligatr from his hometown.

So, Roxie and Marlon, rode Samurott together, Yuga used Dragonair to carry Brawly, and Sora rode Feraligatr. Together, they dived into the depths of the pond.
