This freshly hatched Pokémon is the Cosmoem, a legendary Pokémon from the Alola region, and it is the pre-evolved form of Solgaleo and Lunala.

Originally, the egg should have hatched into Cosmoem's initial form, Cosmog. However, upon absorbing the Ghost-type energy surging from the Ghost World portal, Cosmog evolved into Cosmoem at the moment of birth and underwent a mutation.

Of course, this is Yuga's personal guess. In reality, this Pokémon underwent an abnormal transformation due to unconventional methods used by Bridges.

Bridges found this egg while on a mission in the Alola region and, after researching extensive literature, he learned of its identity. This is why he treasured it so much.

Cosmoem has two evolutionary branches: one is Solgaleo, known as the "Beast that Devours the Sun," and the other is Lunala, known as the "Beast that Calls the Moon."

Bridges is a Ghost-type Pokémon Trainer, and he naturally hoped that this Pokémon would evolve into Lunala, a Ghost-type Pokémon. Therefore, he used special methods to induce the mutation of the Pokémon even before it hatched, which Yuga's Insight ability described as "Directional Mutation."

In other words, this Ghost World portal only served as the trigger for the Pokémon egg to hatch, not the cause of its mutation.

However, Yuga was unaware of this and assumed that Cosmoem mutated due to its absorption of a large amount of Otherworldly Ghost-type energy.
