Chapter 5: Wealth of the Titanblade family

Xavier asked the maid, "How much wealth do we possess right now?"

The currency was divided into copper coin, silver coin, gold coin, and royal coin

1 silver coin= 100 copper coin

1 gold coin= 100 silver coin

1 royal coin= 10 gold coin

Lily replied "We currently have 12 royal coin, 156 gold coin, 1286 silver coin and 1906 copper coin and converting all of them in gold coin we have 288 gold coins, 6 silver coin, and 1906 copper coin"

Xavier's face became gloomy because from his understanding a Duke possessed more than 10 million gold coins, and he badly had 290 gold coins. It was like comparing an ant against a dragon. The gap was too big. When lily saws the expression of Xavier becoming gloomy she said without any expression "This is only according to outside view if we were to calculate the real wealth of Titanblade family then we currently have more than 6 million gold coins"

When Xavier heard the wealth he possessed his gloomy face was replaced with bright face even though it was not enough to compare against a Duke it was still a huge sum.

Lily continued, "But if we include our wealth possessed by those Knights then from my estimation we currently have more than 30 million gold coins"

Xavier was shocked to hear the wealth his grandfather left for him but a question arose in his mind, "If we possessed this much wealth Then, even old dukes would be attracted by our wealth and considering the influence it may be hard to obtain those wealths but it would be worth the trouble" considering the power and influence of those dukes than even the royal family wouldn't provoke them for a declining family like Titanblade family.

Lily nodded and said "You are correct if we possesesd this much wealth then even dukes would be tempted but your grandfather knew this trouble would arise if he died, so he planned to deceive those old and cunning dukes and his plan perfectly worked, but it costed him more than 10 million gold coin maybe even surpassing 15 million gold coin"

Xavier nodded he knew if those old dukes were easy to fool than they wouldn't have been the peak of nobility status for nothing.

Xavier thought for a moment and asked, "If our wealths are hidden so carefully even those dukes would have trouble finding out then why do other nobles create trouble for us."

Lily kept quiet and say "I previously said, it was due to our wealth but that may not necessarily be true some nobles suspected your grandfather hid his real wealth, and their is also a big reason they fear the rise of titanblade family"

Xavier asked "Isn't our family declining why would they have to worry?"

Lily replied "When your grandfather was the head of the titanblade family his appearance had threatened other noble family, and when the death of your grandfather was known to the public they celebrated, but even so, they are afraid another person like your grandfather may rise within the family, so they assassinated your father and mother as their existence threatened them and you were left alone because you were naturally a frail and a weak boy, so your existence didn't threaten them but if you had shown extraordinary talent than they would have assassinated you long ago"

Xavier wondered who his father and mother was even in his past life he was abandoned when he was born he had little hope of experiencing parent's love, but maybe the gods didn't want him to lose his personality, but even so, "Can you tell me about my father and mother?"

lily said "Your father was a charismatic and very kind person and your mother was a top beauty. Your father was beloved by the people, and many people hoped he would rise the titanblade family like your grandfather did but soon he was assassinated. Your mother was mage and an extraordinary one too she was a mage with two elements; fire, and thunder elements even the mage academy sent and invitation for her to become a student of mage academy, but she refused. You should know how many mages yearn to be admitted in the mage academy even the royal family respects them and avoids offending them, but she rejected such a huge opportunity for your father."

Xavier asked in excitement "Do I have chance of becoming a mage?"

Lily replied, "No may not even be qualified to become a warrior let alone a mage"

These words hurt the feelings of Xavier as he cursed the gods in heart.
