Demon King

When a person dies, he gets transported to another world, a fantasy world to be exact. When he goes there, he will be hailed as the hero who saved all.

After banishing the demon who caused terror to every creature, they celebrate with a feast and make statues of him. They write about the hero in storybooks and in history, and finally, he gets to go home where he originally belongs.

You've probably heard that story hundreds of times, but my situation is different. After slaying the demon God, instead of being welcomed back home, I was met with eyes full of fear and hatred.

They treated me well when I was killing monsters and demons for them, but now they tremble at the mere sight of me.

But the other two, who were just standing and had minor wounds and damages, rushed to them and aided them.

But I, who was covered in blood and had my arm cut off, was about to pass out, yet no one dared to help.

The two heroes who were with me began to make decisions; one went back to his original world, but one chose to stay and live a secluded life while I was banished.

I wandered valleys and mountains, but word spread like wildfire, "he is the new demon king," no man has not heard those words.

I didn't even have the opportunity to step into most villages.

I can't hurt them, and yet I also want to. Night came, and since I couldn't spend my time in the villages, I slept under the stars.

I pondered. Where can I go? Will anyone accept me? And I only thought of one thing: if I can't go to any human settlement, how about a place where no humans live?

The Eastern region was where the demon God used to live, and now it was an unoccupied place. Isn't it a good opportunity?

I embarked on a journey towards the eastern region, the most inner part to be exact, and since I've been there, I know the way.

At first sight, it looks like an eerie place with dark mist surrounding it. The place was covered with dark, dead trees, and monsters guard the entrance.

But don't let it fool you, as I fearlessly entered. Within a few minutes, the dark and gloomy surroundings became a beautiful green forest. It was like any other place; there was nothing wrong with it.

I stopped at the apple tree nearby and grabbed a few fruits. It was peaceful, better than the human region.

Then I heard a basket drop, "hero... HERO!!" There was a scream coming from a beast man.

"Wait, I won't do any harm," he ran before he even heard my words. This situation is the worst: being called a demon by humans and being called a hero by non-humans.

I chased him wherever he went; he tried to zigzag, but I simply followed him.

Eventually, he led me to a beastman village. He swiftly entered the gates, and they shut it closed.

The bell rang as soon as the beastmen arrived; they were in a state of panic.

Then five large beastmen came and looked at me on top of the walls.

"Hero! You've slain the devil, and yet you want more?" The one who spoke was the muscular beast who had a scar on his neck.

"I don't want to hurt anyone; I just need to talk to your elder or chief."

"You will not pass the gates, hero."

"Don't dare me! With a single punch, your wooden walls will crumble."

They looked at each other as they worried. Will they trust me? I mean, most beastmen died because of us since they were the frontier of the demon army.

Then a game like screen appeared in front of me it was like a video game from my world it had a message written in it.
