5 Chapter 5 - A Heart To Heart Talk

After the debacle with Freed, Asia and I returned to the park, the same place we first met.

We sat silently under the moonlight. Neither wished to speak. Asia is occupied processing what just happened. Meanwhile I am content to just wait until she is ready.

I can imagine multiple scenarios playing in my mind. The possibility she might've hated me even though it would be nearly impossible because that is just how she is. Willing to forgive even her own worst enemy. However, I still couldn't stop myself from thinking about it and was afraid to even try peeking into the future to see her reaction.

"Uhm… Ray. You…" She hesitated to ask. The more she did, the more painful it is as my thoughts torment me.

"You can talk?"

"Huh? Is that your first question to ask? If I can talk?" I asked back. Feeling like an idiot.

Of course… Of course she would ask that silly question instead of what I am.

"Yes. I could talk." I admitted with a nod.

"Then, you are a magic cat, right? I read it before. Witches in stories usually have a magical familiar. A black cat that can talk." She said excitedly. "Then, are you my magical familiar?"

"..." I couldn't keep up with the conversation.

Me? A cat that is secretly a 12th Dimensional Eldritch God. A magical familiar? I could hold back my laughter on the irony of the situation as I rolled on the bench laughing to my heart's content.

"Mou! I am asking a serious question! What is funny about it?" Asia blushed and flustered as she caught me and lifted me up with both hands.

Holding back my wheezes, I asked her. "Why would you reach that conclusion?"

"Hmn… After I was exiled by the Church. I was labeled as a witch by the Church. So, you must be my magical familiar like the witches I read in the books. Are you not?" She asked with a head tilt that shows her confusion.

"Hmn. Sure. Let's go with that explanation then. I am indeed your magical familiar, the black cat, Ray." I smiled inwardly and accepted the role as her familiar even though I am secretly a 12th Dimensional Eldritch God.

"Ah! I knew it." She said, sounded very happy as she pulled me into a hug. "I am happy to have you as my familiar and friend too." She added before tears suddenly fell down her cheeks and dripped on my fur.

"I am very happy to finally have a friend." She mutters and cries.

With a heavy sigh, I performed my role as a comfort for her as she cried for quite some while. It's probably from her loneliness and sadness being turned into a Holy Maiden by the Church only to later branded a witch and exiled when God is the only thing she ever had in life which was all just a lie because the God she believed in so strongly is nothing but a dead person.

Secretly, I vow that I will make those responsible for these tears shed to pay very verry dearly as my shadow extends and splits off before they vanish to perform their assigned task.

A quick note, sowing fear and terror is the specialty of the Eldritch God. They'd be lucky to winded up with just having their mind broken and commit suicide.

After Asia shed all the tears she had been holding back, her kind smile once again returned to her face.

"Sorry, you have to bear with my unsightly state." She apologized but I stopped her.

"No. That is what a friend and familiar is for. I will help you with your burden and pain." I said before quickly changing the topic.

"What will you do now? We can't return to the abandoned church. Those Fallen Angels want to kill you and steal your Sacred Gear."

"Uhm… I don't know. I don't have places to go anymore. I am an orphan and since the Church exiled me. I have nowhere else to go." She said as her smile falters.

"Don't worry. We can make a new home together. I am your familiar, remember? We will always be together." I reassured her after seeing she was almost at the verge of crying again.

"Right. I have a fa– friend now. I'm not alone anymore." She smiled brighter and brought me to a tighter hug.

Damn, those melons felt like marshm— Focus! Ray! Focus! I mentally slap myself a few times to sober up and focus to address the current matters.

"So, what do you want to do now? Like what you want to do with your life."

"Ah! I always wished to feel what it is like to live like a normal person. Going to school to learn and meet friends. I never could do those when staying in the Church because they forbid me from interacting with people they do not allow." She said excitedly and expressed how much she wished to experience those moments that she can only see from a distance or read from a book. "Also, I always dreamed of having a garden. I like to plant beautiful flowers and crops that can feed the less fortunate people."

"Hmn, consider those wishes done." I smirked and declared confidently. "I know how to fulfill those wishes."

Since those Satans fear me that much, it makes extorting them much easier. Not like my request would be difficult to fulfill. Surely they would be very willing to help Asia to get into Kuoh Academy and a mansion to appease an Eldritch God that's about to 'go on a rampage'.

"Let's go. I know some kind people that are willing to help grant your wishes." I said and leaped off her arm to lead her to a certain self proclaimed magical girl.

"Eh, really?" Asia sounded surprised but didn't doubt me because she put so much trust in me that she would believe anything that I said to her.

"Yes. Yes. A very kind bunch of people." I replied with a hidden smirk.
