Chapter 35 - Fallen Angel Cadre Appear

(I think I fked up with the last two chapters. I wasn't intending to write the fight scene at all and sort of went ambitious with it and now I don't know how to continue from there. So, bear with me. This chapter will be a little rocky)

Kiba Yuuto was wandering the night street of Kuoh, stumbling and struggling to even walk properly. Just that afternoon, he fought the Exorcist and passed out from exhaustion. But when he woke up, he immediately escaped from the school infirmary.

Rias and Sona had reported the presence of the Excalibur Fragments and the Church Exorcists were determined to recover the Excalibur Fragments. If he fails to get his revenge here, he will probably never get the chance anymore in the future. That's why he must seize the opportunity even if he can be branded as Stray Devil for disobeying his King's order to stay out of the matter regarding the Excalibur Fragments.

"Where is it? Where are the Excalibur Fragments!" Kiba mutters as exhaustion paints his pale face as he struggles to even breathe properly and panted ever so slightly.

Then he suddenly heard the sound of swords clashing. It was faint but he was sure of it. His intuition tells it must have been the two Exorcists from earlier battling someone. The faint energy radiating from the direction is unmistakably Holy power.

He hurried over and peek from a far, behind a tree. The two Exorcists were engaging in battle against Freed Sellzen. Kiba swore that he felt like Freed shouldn't even be here but can't recall why for some reason. However, what Freed wield is unmistakably another Excalibur Fragment that allows him to gain unparalleled speed that left a dozen afterimages and suppressed the two Exorcists despite being outnumbered.

"Hyahahaha! You two shitty Exorcists are weak! Too weak!" Freed suddenly pull open his coat to reveal two more Excalibur Fragments and took one of them.

Suddenly, Freed turn invisible which put the two Exorcists immediately into a wary state and try to sense where Freed went but unexpectedly, Freed launched a sneak attack on Irina and wounded her with a slash that cut from her chest down to her abdomen.

"Irina!" Xenovia shouted and immediately slashed at the location Freed could be standing and her blade struck true which clashed against a blade.

"Don't mind me taking this." Freed laughed as he pick up the Excalibur Mimic that Irina dropped before turning invisible again.

Kiba who is hiding nearby couldn't even find an opportunity to attack Freed and could only watch in disappointment as Freed escaped with another Excalibur Fragment.

Back at Kuoh Academy, the reinforcement from the Underworld and one of the Satan is about to arrive to reinforce Kouh Town. However, it would take another hour before they arrived.

Both Devil heiresses and their peerage are working hard trying to reinforce the Kuoh Academy in light of the possible assassination or attack on them.

Koneko, who can't help much in creating the barrier, went to check on Kiba after completing some errand asked by Akeno. When she arrived, she noticed the infirmary was empty and one of the windows was left wide open.

She didn't hesitate to inform Rias which immediately made the redhead angry and extremely worried. She wanted to send Koneko out to search for Kiba but with three Excalibur Fragments on the loose in this town, she didn't dare and instead sent out familiars to scour the town for her missing knight.

Suddenly, a blinding light emerged from within the academy and the Devils all sensed it, the presence of a strong Holy power. Then a large magic formation appeared.

"What is happening?" They all asked in shock after something happening consecutively beyond their understanding.

Then suddenly a figure appeared in the sky, a ten feather winged angel with jet black wings.

"A Fallen Angel Cadre?" The more senior Devils recognize the threat that appeared.

"Is he the one responsible behind the Excalibur Fragments?" Both Rias and Sona mutter as they couldn't help but draw the relation between this Fallen Angel Cadre and the four Fallen Angels from the abandoned church.

"Greetings, Devils of Gremory and Sitri. I thank you both in advance for calling for reinforcement and lure out a Satan for me. Your role ends now and you both can die for the sake of my goal." The Fallen Angel Cadre creates a Light Spear in his hand and casually throws it towards the group of Devils.

All the Devils were stunned and shocked that they couldn't even muster their strength to flee as their body was frozen in fear. Their life flashed through their eyes as they instinctively knew once the Light Spear landed, they would die without even an ash. Their opponent after all is a veteran that survived the Great war where God, Seraph, Cadres, Satans and dragons fought and he survived that brutal war. Compared to those who lived in the time of relative peace, their strength cannot even be compared.

A few seconds passed by, but strangely enough. They are still alive. The Devil's look bewildered and lift their head up to see the Light Spear seems to have frozen mid air.

"Interesting. So you are the rumored unknown god hidden in this town." The Fallen Angel Cadre suddenly said with an amused voice.

The Devils quickly look around for the black cat which is surprisingly difficult to find in the darkness of night.

"Indeed, I am." A voice replied and everyone immediately turned their attention to the roof of the main building where figures of several people and a cat could be seen standing there.

Suddenly, the Light Spear suspended in air suddenly distorts before it shatters into million motes of light as the Holy power within it disperses like an explosion of fireworks.

The Fallen Angel Cadre didn't look concerned and confident for some reason but seems to remain respectful to Ray.

"From what I learned, you do not pick sides and instead have your own agenda. So, I must ask. What is the reason for this interference?" The Fallen Angel Cadre asked curiously and obviously wouldn't want to anger the god who is stronger than him as he just showcased his power to effortlessly control space and interrupted his attack on the Devils.

"You played outside your script and I can't have you kill them off yet. But neither will I interfere with your goal. However, I had prepared an actor for this stage." Ray replied with cryptic words that the Fallen Angel Cadre seems to understand and nodded satisfyingly.

"I see. If that's the case. Then I can wait." The Fallen Angel Cadre said before he retreated back to the track field within the academy.

Meanwhile, the Devils felt relieved and grateful that they were spared from their death. But at the same time, they couldn't help but feel ominous after hearing the words of the unknown god.

Can't kill them yet? Stage? Actor? What had the unknown god planned this time? No one could answer their questions

Suddenly, some people appeared and entered the barrier.

"Kiba? The Church's Exorcists?" The Devils exclaimed after seeing the trio's tattered state.

"Irina?!" Issei shouted in shock looking at her grievous injury.
