28 Chapter 28 - Sirin The Gold Digger (Not really)

"I want this! This too! This. This and that too!" Sirin is window shopping at the Haphestus Familia equipment shops like crazy.

"Do you really need all of that?" I asked with a questioning look at her.

The Shadow Lance she summons alone has higher attack points compared to whatever those weapons could offer. Not to mention all it takes is her own energy to conjure them. Also, both of them are ability reliant types of fighters. They shouldn't even need weapons to begin with. Not that they couldn't but none of them are trained to use any of the weapons Sirin chose.

"You really don't understand it, Ray. It's not about the thing I bought. It's about the experience. Every girl likes to be sponsored to buy rare and expensive things." She said in a lecturing manner but Ray with a doubtful look turned to Sakura for her opinion.

"Uhm. I don't really need anything. The thought alone is enough and I am happy enough." Sakura replied. Then Ray turned to Asia while Sirin looked at Sakura with stare filled with betrayal.

"Ah. Me too." Asia said which is understandable since she grew up learning moral values and the 7 virtues taught by the Church.

Finally, I looked up at Ravel for her answer.

"While I can understand what Sirin is saying since I enjoyed shopping with my mother too. But buying things that she can't even use is a little…" Ravel wanted to continue but the look on Sirin's face made Ravel stop before she cried.

"Wah! I admit it! I feel jealous looking at other adventurers with cool equipment! I want to dress up as a proper adventurer and look cool too!" Sirin was driven to tears and admitted her true intentions.

While Sirin is bawling on the floor and the other girls are consoling her, the sales clerk walks up to Ray with the bill for everything Sirin selected. The clerk was honestly doubtful that her customer is serious about buying all that equipment but being the professional clerk she is, she didn't question it and simply presented the bill. If her customer can pay it or not, it's the talk for later.

"Hmn? 1.8 Billion Valis?" Ray questioned with a raised eyebrow at the total stated in the bill.

"Yes, dear customer. I already triple checked the amount and factor in the discounts. It is the correct value." The clerk answered swiftly.

"Hmn. Alright, but we are still going to continue browsing and also is there any equipment that can buff skill or ability like healing?" Ray asked without batting an eye on the bill which surprised the clerk greatly.

Well, why will he need to worry? A billion? Hundred billions? That's just a number for him when he can just create whatever he wants. It's just a matter of how he will stabilize the economy back after he just dumped a boatload of money out of thin air.

The clerk then guides Ray and the girls through the selection of accessories which fit the description of what he asked for.

But Ray is impressed by the whole power system of this world. The equipment specifically.

To explain it in a game term. The accessories he is currently showcased have effects that increase skill output by 10% etc which is universal. Meanwhile whoever equipped the accessories will have their skill damage output increased by 10%. If Sirin equip it, the Shadow Lance she conjured will hit 10% harder. If Asia equipped it, her healing power would increase by 10%.

It's honestly amazing and that's the reason why he even decided to buy them. Not that he cannot create those equipment himself. He could but only in this world with its own unique rule. Those effects will not be usable outside of this world. But still amazing.

Imagine if he can create equipment that increases his own ability power by 1000%. It would be game changing but also impossible as his power cannot magically allow himself to create something exceeding the power he used to create that effect. It would be like trying to pour ten glasses worth of water with one glass only.

In the end, I bought Asia a pair of earrings that can double her healing power. Sirin, Sakura and Ravel each get an accessory that can increase their attack power by 50%.

"I would have to modify the rules of the world back at DxD to make those equipment usable." Ray makes a mental note before he pays the bills with a cheque worth 2.2 Billion Valis. The ability to amplify accessories isn't cheap after all.

In the end, Sirin is happy she can now dress up as a proper adventurer with equipment that can bankrupt any low and middle ranked Familia along with Sakura.

"Thank you, Ray!" Sirin happily cuddles Ray along the way out from Babel.

"As long as you are happy." Ray shrugs since it isn't that big of a deal for him.

Sirin's outfit is more warrior-ish, a sleeveless hardened leather vest with a long metal reinforced glove and boots that almost reach her shoulder and up to her knee. On top of that some metal plates to protect her joints and the chest and abdomen. For weapons, she has an artisan sword crafted using Monster Rex material, sheathed inside a richly decorated and engraved sword sheath that as you already guessed, mostly decorative even as it is a proper weapon because she can't wield it skillfully enough.

As for Sakura, she goes for the spell caster look with a royal blue, form fitting magician robe embroidered with floral motifs using gold strings and leather boots for her legs. For her weapon, she has a metal staff that complements her chosen style and doubles as a melee weapon if needed.

"Next, I know a stall that sells good croquette somewhere." I said as I sniffed the air and continued our otherworldly vacation.
