Ch 2 Goodbye Macedonian

I was rooted to my postion. We were thunderstruck. My heart won't calm down at all. I looked at Amy and she had tears in her eyes. Nanny turned and I hugged her. Tears rolled down my eyes. She hugged me back. 

" Nanny, I don't want to leave... But we both know I don't have any other option." I sobbed .

We parted.Her age was reflecting on her face. She said calmly," I knew this would happen. I have to leave someday but I never imagined you would be the one leaving me." 

" Don't say that I am not leaving you." I whispered.

But we both knew I will be leaving soon.

Next day

I was wearing my best gown today. It was light pink in colour. It was short since I got tall. But atleast, it covered my knees. Nanny and Amy gifted me that on my sixteenth birthday. They saved money for a year to gift me this gown. It was off shoulder and had a big bow at backside.

I wore my white shoes since I only own one pair. Amy did her best today to make me look like a princess. She braided my long black hair and even decorated it with flowers. I didn't have a crown so nanny gave me a tiara of flowers. I wore it instantly. Nanny wasn't going with me so she lectured Amy the whole night. I told them it wasn't necessary but Amy insisted on listening. 

Then the three of us slept together.

"Princess are you ready?" Nanny asked me entering my room. I snapped out my thoughts.

" Yeah I am. But, before going I want meet my parents. If we have time." I said.

" I know you would say that. So I already talked with the driver ." she said. 

The two of us walked to my parents tomb and picked some flowers in my way. 

" Father Mother. I hope you will continue to watch over me. I am not going to far. Just another kingdom. Nanny will be here with you. I am a big girl now. So, you don' t have to worry and tell nanny not to worry as well....." I whispered . 

I wanted to say more but couldn't because I feared I would cry and I didn't want to cry in front of them. My throat got clogged with emotions. 

" It's time to leave princess." Amy said from behind me.

I nodded and got up. I hugged nanny. She had tears in her eyes. 

" I love you nanny. Take care. Don't work hard anymore and don't even think for a second that you can forget me .I will write to you." 

" I won't forget you. My silly princess and I love you too. You have grown into a beautiful young woman.I am so proud of you.." She touched my cheek and kissed my forehead.

" Don't forget me.I love you too.Miss Kelly. " Amy said hugging nanny. 

I laughed and nanny said," I love you too Amy .You have been strong.Thankyou for everything. " They parted.

Nanny said," It's time to say goodbye....." 

I smiled and waved her.I and Amy turned to go. I saw baby birds leaving their nest.I was stepping into the real world. I feared the unknown. But, had faith in my courage. My life was already pre destined somewhere by gods. So, I prayed to them for my future.

SIX HOURS LATER

"When will we reach its too hot in this carriage.I am going to dieee princessss." Amy complained in a dramatic way.Her face was all red . It really was too hot to travel.

I fanned my face with my hand.Amy looked out the window of the carriage an shouted," When will we reach?" 

" Just in twenty minutes and it will take another half an hour to reach the palace." The coachman shouted. 

" Whew, that's good. My butt is has gone numb from sitting all the day."She said.

" Young lady, language. If nanny was here she would scold you an whole day." I said.

" Princess let it slide just once. I am irritated to death." She said.

I laughed at her antiques. 

After sometime, Amy suddenly shouted,

" Princess".

I was drowsy from sitting all day but after hearing her I jerked awake and said," What happened Amy?" 

" Princess look outside."She said while looking outside. 

I looked outside and saw beautiful scenery. It was so beautiful with hills and a big lake. The water of lake was so clear, mirroring the hills. So many wisteria vines were in full bloom. It was heavenly. It refreshed me. The hills stretched to main gate of kingdom.After some verification, we entered the capital. It was bustling with people. I have never been to town before. It felt amazing. Children were running on the streets. Some women were chatting at corner of street. There were so many stalls of different fruits and vegetables.I saw a bakery and when carriage was passing by that bakery my mouth watered from bread's smell. A florist was opening her shop. So many beautiful flowers were there. When we passed the market area I saw farms. Yellow flowers were shining in sunlight like gold.A man was running behind a woman.They were both laughing. They must be dating. I know that much from books. So, this was Clematis I was in love with this Kingdom already.I would love to explore.As the carriage was moving forward ,trees were increasing. There were dense trees and I heard birds chirping.Canopy was dense so it wasn't that hot. We were in a forest. The forest cleared after a few minutes and there was another big gate. Two guards were standing out there.They did some verification again and the carriage moved forward. The streets were less crowded. I hardly saw any people here. The shops were so beautiful and looked expensive. So we were in nobels area. Everything looked beautiful but distant. I had a bad feeling. I have red in novels that high ranking nobel ladies were arrogant and rude and they loved to bully people like me. What if they didn't like me and I was going to be bullied. My heart instantly dropped on that thought.I was going to be an outcast as in like bully novels. We passed a big fountain and the carriage stopped. There were so many guards guarding that place. The gate wasn't big wooden like other gates I have seen. This was beautiful iron gate. The gate opened and carriage moved forward.

" Princess." Amy shouted. 

I flinched and turned to her. It was sudden. Excitement was dripping from her eyes. Her eyes looked happy. She said," Princess we are in palace.....This place is so beautiful." 

I smiled and said," Yeah. Control yourself. " 

I looked outside to see some guards and beautiful green manicured gardens. There was a big fountain in middle of the garden.The carriage stopped and driver climbed down. So, we were here. My heart was dancing in my chest. I was nervous. My limbs were cold. I looked at Amy but she was more nervous than me. Driver opened my door and said," We are here." I nodded and climbed down the carriage. My legs were feeling like jelly. I wobbled a bit. Amy came beside me and steadied me. 

" You have to go from here alone. I have to go back." Driver said. 

I thanked him and he went back. Amy carried the luggage trunks.I looked around while walking. this place was amazing. I saw the palace it was so beautiful and massive. With its long pillars and white and purple paint.Palace was painted white but designs and corners were filled with purple.Many wistreria vines were climbing on pillars.It was beautiful. When we reached the palace some maids were already there standing in front of entrance. An old woman came towards me and said," Greetings your highness. We are so happy to have you. I am head maid Jenifer." She told me with a bow. I felt uncomfortable when she bowed to me. 

I said," Thankyou Jenifer. I am Madeleine Lancaster and she is my maid Amy." 

She said," We were already informed your highness. You must be tired.You should take a rest. Please come." 

I nodded and a maid came and took our luggage.Amy and I followed her inside.

She continued," This is wisteria palace. You will be living here. I will give you a tour later."

Inside of palace was so beautiful. The floor was carpeted with purple carpet. There were big and shiny chandeliers hanging from ceiling. The curtains were white and purple. Windows were so large.Now that I noticed even the maids were wearing nice clothes. My white shoes were worn off. My clothes looked like rags in front of them. Uneasiness settled in my stomach. Maids were wearing black gowns and black polished shoes. This palace was decorated with mirrors. I felt outsider here. Well, I was an outsider. I stood in front of a room. Jenifer opened the gate to it. 

"This will be your room your highness. If you need anything else than please tell me." She said and walked away. 

I walked in with Amy and we were stunned to see the room. It was so beautiful and big. A big queen sized bed with white and purple bed sheet and curtains. There was a glass door on left leading to balcony and sunlight was coming in room from there. The floor was entirely carpeted.A sofa set was in middle of room and door was on right of the room. Maybe, it led to bathroom. There was a dressing beside the glass door on left. I went and sat on the bed. It was comfy. I could sleep now. 

" Princess this room is so nice. " Amy said. She was also happy. 

I got up and walked to balcony.Wisteria vines were grown on pillars and a pond was there.When I looked down, white flowers were floating on that pond. Many trees with white flowers on them were grown beside pond. It was dreamy. A white table and two chairs were also there. I went inside and layed on the bed. I was in heaven.sleeping on clouds like bed and having a heavenly view. I doubted if that was reality. If that was a dream then I was going to live it fully. I was in love this dream.
