73 The Time Hero, Chronoa. (part 1)

(So umm, if you get confused about the chap just drop a question and I will answer it. I did my best to describe what happened but I understand how it can be confusing. Time stuff is weird to understand. Especially without the context from knowing the og.

However, I am going to bed pretty soon so I may not be able to answer until tomorrow/)

"Long time no see Luminous, you look great. You really went all out today didn't you."

"Well, it is a special day today. Are you ready to awaken her? The celebration cannot officially start until she is out."

"Yes, Chloe is here and I have the mask ready. We can go ahead and start now."

We walked all of the way to a hidden chamber in which a beautiful woman was laying inside a glass coffin wrapped in chains. She didn't have any clothing on her body and she appeared to be in a deep sleep.

Chloe had been having headaches for the past couple of weeks as memories began to resurface on her mind from her past. They were mostly muddled and not clear yet Chloe began to realize what had happened in the past. And when I had told her of the event I had ended up filling her in on what happened.

She walked over to the coffin and looked at it. She wanted to reach for it but knew that it was covered in protection magic that would hurt anyone who touched it.

"So this is… me."

Hinata stepped back behind her and patted her head.

"Are you ok?"

"Yes. For some months now I have felt as if something was wrong, or missing. I could remember but I couldn't. It is a weird feeling."

I also stepped behind her and patted her head.

"You are not wrong. Time got all messed up ever since you received your spirit. Are you ready?"

"Yes."

I turned to Luminous and told her.

"Keep them safe, I should be able to help Chronoa stabilize but it is better not to risk anything."

Stepping forward I placed my hand on the coffin. It glowed for a moment before the magic protecting it was deactivated with my denial skill. The chains that were holding onto it began to fall apart one by one until it didn't have any more things guarding it. All that was left was to open it.

And once I did several things happened at the same time. Chloe was banished into nothingness and Hinata dropped to the ground while holding her head in pain.

...

(3rd pov)

The memories flooded Chloe all at the same time as she remembered her past loops.

Chloe's skill was a living hell since she had to experience the same events over and over without being able to remember or do anything to change the future. And she had the experience of that same loss without a stop.

The loops could range from repeating everything exactly multiple times to wildly different events happening. And, after hundreds of loops there came one in which something that could break the loops happened. The memories of the final loop began to play out again on her mind. The loop that had gone absolutely wrong.

It wasn't long after they had received their spirits that Rimuru had left and had his first encounter with Hinata. In fact, it all mostly played out the same way as in the current timeline. The main difference was a Luminous who did not know of Rimuru.

Every time she was sent back to the past her memories would become blurry with only a few important events on her mind. And while she befriended Luminous in the large majority Chloe would take on a more serious role as a hero. Her memories were scrambled so she was not really herself, and so, a connection was hard to form.

Rimuru continued to follow his path past Walpurgis until the day the hero Granbell decided enough was enough. He called up the church and they ended up receiving the assistance of Hinata and the ten great saints, along with a large number of strong members of the holy church.

Yet still, those preparations were far from being enough. Granbell had gotten rusty and had stopped training. The army he had brought with him wasn't even able to make it past the gates before being destroyed.

Witnessing the death of the one who had taught her to fight and the defeat of her fellow paladins Hinata changed her opinion on the slime. And the desire for revenge and to protect the paladins led her to awaken her hero's egg. Not only that but Granbell had given her his skill before he died.

Yet that was the worst thing that could have happened for her. With her newly gained strength, she was able to break past the defense and she had killed a few of the monsters in front of her. Destroying their bodies and souls. And on the line of fire Shuna and Shion had been caught. Death was the only thing that followed after.

Every single one of the attackers had been mercilessly killed, their souls both shattered into pieces and then consumed. And during his rage, Rimuru had awakened the hero's egg. The skill that his soul most greatly desired at the moment. The power to restore souls, no matter what state they were in, even if they had been disintegrated. He awakened Ngyr-Korath, God of Death.

War broke out between Luminous and Tempest. A very short war that resulted in the destruction of the western holy church. And when news broke out the west decided to unite to defeat this new demon lord that would destroy the world if left to grow any longer.

But not all of the human armies together could do anything. Masayuki had been forcibly taken two of his companions back to the Eastern continent to protect him. Making it so he never met Rimuru.

When the empire of Tempest took over the entire west was when Guy Crimson appeared on their doorstep. And what followed was another huge war against the red primordial. Rimuru did his best to keep the general feeling of peace in Tempest but the tension in the air was noticeable.

Chloe remembered his visits to the schools as the only time she wouldn't feel nervous. And she could see the guilty expression on his face.

"Don't worry, I will make sure everything goes right. I brought you all here so I will make sure nothing bad happens."

It was on that day that Rimuru had visited that he had given her a stopwatch.

"I think it will help you when you most need it" He had told her

With the nonstop war, the armies of Tempest grew stronger and stronger as more and more demon lords were created. The war might have actually been won if it were not for the sudden third party attacking the diverged forces of Tempest and Guy. The eastern empire had made its move.

Chloe didn't get to know much about what happened after since the information was kept secret. Yet she remembered the final day before she got launched back in time. The day the world ended.

The last thing she remembered was angels falling from the sky fighting demons that emerged from gigantic gates. The true dragons had been killed, leaving only a gigantic chaotic dragon. A three-way battle between Guy, Rimuru, and a blonde man with wings.

Those were the last things she saw before being thrown back in time. Yet the moment her vision began to blur and her memories began to muddle, the hand in the stopwatch she had been given began to spin at a crazy rate.

And the next thing she knew she was blasted with all of her memories of her past. Timelines where there was peace and she grew to be an adult. Timelines in which Tempest never fought the western holy church. Yet no matter what changed or how happy she was, one thing never changed. There was always a war at the end.

The accumulated negative emotions she felt from having to relieve the deaths of everyone around her accumulated into a singular being. And while lost in thoughts she uttered the name she used as a hero.

"Chronoa."

With the name it had been given, Manas: Chronoa was born. Yet it remained in a sleep-like state.

Yet another voice was heard in her head.

"Where am I?"

The voice of Hinata Sakaguchi. The woman who had died while attacking Tempest.

War was not the only thing that remained constant, Hinata was the second thing. The world always tried to find a way to fix itself. And since no two versions of the same person could be present at the same time the world had tied Hinata to Chloe to stabilize the timeline once Chloe was summoned away to the future.

Someone had to seal Veldora, someone had to Rescue Shizu, someone had to give her the mask. And since the timeline would not allow for Chloe to do so it had chosen an assistant.

Chloe ignored the voice as she had a realization.

'I can remember clearly. I can change the future.'
