59 Greed, and Heading to Jistav.

Inside the main office of the Rosso mansion, there was a girl sitting on a chair. She had a troubled expression on her face as she spoke to the woman in front of her. This was Mariabelle Rosso, a reincarnator. She used to be a ruler in Europe before she was reborn in this world. In order to gain her power in the previous world, she did anything without remorse. Burnt homes, lost families, wailing people. Small things in her eyes compared to the powers he could hold.

She had been granted the skill Greed once she was reborn for her desire to dominate and become ruler once again. A skill that let her control the desires of people, giving her a form of mind control. She was able to work her skill in a subtle way so that the other person would not be able to find out until it was too late.

She had earned a friendly relationship and once she grew older she would be trained by her grandfather, who planned to leave the future of mankind in her hands. Yet her grandfather had left and had not returned for days. Granbell had only told her that he had to take care of something important and did not elaborate, so she couldn't even try to figure out what had happened to him.

She was supposed to inherit his skills and properties once he died but all he had done was disappear.

She looked up to the corpse puppet in front of her, Maria.

"What do you think? Did he tell you anything"

Yet all Maria did was hold a lifeless expression and stand still. Yet the very next moment it dropped down to the floor.

"Hmmm?"

She felt the control she had over the puppet disappear as the puppet fell down. A small sense of dread appearing in the back of her mind.

"Maria….."

"Sorry, wrong place wrong time. Better luck next time."

Those were the last words she heard before her life ended.

[You have obtained the skill Greed.

It is being consumed by Yaldabaoth, God of Sin.

The true potential of Greed has been unlocked, and it has evolved into Mammon, lord of greed. Which is now a part of Yaldabaoth.

Yaldabaoth has gained the following subskills.

Control Desire: The power to control others' desires. The bigger the desire the more control over the person, however, the longer it will take to gain full control.

Death Wish: The user pushes their own will to use this skill which envelops the target in a wave of darkness that inverts their desire to live into desire to die. The stronger the target's desire to live, the more effective the attack.

Greed Flare: Converts the user or targets soul energy into physical force to devastatingly increase their power.

Skill Steal: The power to steal skills.

The skill Plunderer on the incomplete records has merged with skill steal and it is now capable of Plundering skills above unique.]

I was now standing over the two corpses.

"Super easy, barely an inconvenience."

I knew that if I left her unchecked she would end up taking control over the western nations and she would just end up making a huge mess. Looking at the corpse puppet on the ground I couldn't help but feel a small amount of pity for her.

"You're all messed up."

Too much time had passed since Maria had died and Granbell resurrected her. Her soul had started to break into pieces and when the necromancy magic was used on her it was forcefully patched up and brought into the body. Nothing was in the right place.

*Sigh*

I picked up her soul and put it back together with Ciel's help. It was only a few moments after that the soul was back to how it was meant to be. If this was placed in the body she would be truly brought back to life. Not as a mindless puppet but as the person she used to be. I lifted the soul and let it disperse, to wherever it would go after.

I consumed the two bodies with Yaldabaoth and left no trace of my presence, and after that, I disappeared.

....

"Alright, kids! Who is ready for a field trip?"

"Yeahhhhh" A loud cheer was heard.

After I had dealt with the last piece of the Rosso's I was ready to go to Jistav. Since the kids had been studying pretty hard I was going to take them to Jistav so that they could enjoy a small vacation. Hinata and one of the teachers were joining as their chaperone and she would make sure they would stay safe. But well, maybe they didn't need the protection.

While some of them had decided to not become adventurers as their main job in the future all of them still wanted to become strong, so they kept on learning how to fight. Their reasons diverged from "Because it's cool" to "I want to impress someone". But well, no matter the reason the fact was that they were now strong.

A good example of this would be Alice, who in the past used stuffed dolls as weapons, and they were now replaced with several high-grade knives made by Kurobe himself. She still liked to carry around a plushy wherever she went but she had now become extremely dangerous.

Or Chloe, who seemed to soak up every bit of information the teachers taught like it was nothing. Even while she was still a kid she had learned Hakuro's sword style to an impressive level. Chloe had wandered from the warrior academy to the magic association and had learned as much as she could. The magical control she had was becoming finer by the day. And now she was stuck to my leg like a koala.

"You didn't visit us this week."

"Well, it was a busy week, you already know all that happened. Even if I wanted to there were several things I had to take care of."

"And what about the dance! You said we could all dance after the festival!"

"Erm well, you know… I tried to organize a dance…"

"But that's not the same dance that you all had. That was for kids." Chloe argued back.

Chloe said that she wanted to have a dance with me when she heard of the final event but in truth, I felt uncomfortable. I wouldn't have minded but she made it weird. So I tried to organize a nicer and scaled-back cha-cha slide dance kind of thing. But she only got angry when I tried that. She was one of the only people who could make me uncomfortable at the moment. So I just acted like I didn't know anything.

But before Chloe could continue to argue she was lifted like a puppy by Hinata.

"Now, don't you see you are making Mr. Rimuru uncomfortable. We gotta get ready to go, have you all packed your things."

Hinata gave me a subtle nod and I answered with another subtle nod as thanks.

Since everyone confirmed that they were ready I snapped my fingers and the next moment we were in Jistav.

It was the nation of elves and many different Majin. Since the moment it had come under my rule several things began to be put into the works.

The attack of the chaos dragon had left a large portion of the ground in a bad state, filled with chaotic magicules that disturbed the ground. It made farming difficult, even after all the time that had passed the ground still had traces of that chaotic magic. So the first order of business was to restore the earth.

Since not all dryads were busy serving Ramiris I was able to assign the ones that were free to Jistav so that they could begin to restore the land. Since those days the earth had finally returned to normal. Actually, it was better than normal, what once was a ground that struggled to grow food was now capable of growing healthy plants.

Some people had been transferred here to begin working on implementing commodities such as bathrooms and the like and a lot of architects from Tempest had also been brought to check on the buildings. My intention was not to demolish and replace with buildings similar to Tempest, only to make sure that they were structurally safe. I wanted to preserve the architecture of the land as much as I could, so future buildings and expansions would also follow the elven traditions of Jistav.

The castle was a bit too large but we had managed to organize it so that it would have more uses than taking up space. Most of the treasures that were being kept on it had been distributed to their proper departments instead of just sitting collecting dust. There were many weapons that were of high grade due to their age that were built into puppets that never saw use.

Adalman and his servants had become the main guardians of Jistav along with the army as they no longer had to guard the castle. I had brought several representatives to be my proxy rulers for Jistav. They were people who had worked under Rigurd and had also unlocked managerial skills with some uses of food chain and their own efforts. They had been keeping everything working properly.

We had teleported into the city center and the kids began to wander around. Well, all except one.

"Chloe, I gotta do something that you shouldn't be there for"

"But I am going to become an adventurer in the future. I will help in protecting Tempest. It doesn't matter what it is, I will be fine."

I looked at her for a moment before I made my decision.

"I will let you only if you pass one test."

"What is-"

Before she could finish speaking I took out my sword and swung it in her direction with a high speed. I wasn't going all out, I just wanted to see something. I had only begun my slash when Ciel confirmed my theory.

[A temporal disturbance has been detected.]

In Chloe's eyes, the world had slowed down. This had happened to her a couple of times before yet she didn't understand how it worked. She didn't have time to think about the event as she saw the sword slowly moving in her direction. She pulled out her sword, her body also moving slowly. And just in time was able to parry the blow. She stumbled back a bit yet she remained standing.

She had acquired vague memories that weren't hers, or well, memories she didn't recognize the moment she got her spirit. It was all a big blur. And every time this skill activated it on its own it felt so familiar, yet so distant at the same time.

She lifted her eyes to look at me.

"You passed. Follow me." I said as I began to take some steps towards the castle with a small smile on my face. A smile she didn't miss.

"Ha! I told you I am going to be strong enough to- wait for me" She tried to boast but had to run behind me to catch up.

Hinata who had stayed to drag Chloe away had an impressed look on her face.

"How did she….?"

We walked through the city to take in the sights and we greeted the citizens we walked past. And once we reached the castle we saw a well-dressed elf with some people behind her wearing masks.

"You ready?" I asked her with a friendly tone.

"I am" She answered, she almost couldn't hold back her excitement.

The clowns that were behind her were also a bit impatient, and you could tell by the way they were doing something akin to dancing and pacing at the same time.

"Then let's go get started."

....

(No it isn't that thing ya pervs, get your head out of the gutter. Also, information on Mammon is super hard to find, so if I missed anything let me know.)

(Also, we just hit 100k words. So party time it is.)
