"Ding... Successor System issued a mission : Confess to Rebecca Winston in public"

"Mission time limit 1 month, 26 days left."

"Mission reward: ????. Mission failure will result in host's life reduced by 5 years."

.....

"God, why would you give me this kind of bullshit!"

Razz an Computer Engineering freshman in college received the system a few days ago when he woke up in his dormitory.

At first he thought he was a lucky man, as all the novels he read that had systems became powerful beings that do incredible things, but when he saw the name of his system and his first mission was issued he was immediately dumbfounded.

"Why would I even have a Successor system, we can't even save up money and all we have is a small old house, whom or what am I even a successor of."

He is currently pondering in the university library as he tries to find out any precedence or clue of his current situation.

Beside him were a pile of history books, students passing by would look at him with different expressions while teachers look at him with appreciation.

While he was digging at another pile of books his phone rang.

"Hello?" asked Razz as he continued in reading his books

"Where are you all morning?"

"Oh, its you Phoenix." said Razz

Phoenix is his childhood friend and dorm mate. They grew up at the same province and moved to the city to attend college, Phoenix takes Civil Engineering different from his program. Phoenix came from a well off family that they can be considered tycoons in their province.

"You have been gone all morning and haven't attended classes you idiot."

Razz suddenly remembered that today was the start of their new term.

Their school is one of the top schools of the country known for their excellence in producing top notch engineering graduates. Their school is a fast paced one different from other universities wherein they don't have the so called summer break.

The school has 4 terms a year a 3 months for each term. Today was the start of their 2nd term.

"Shit, I totally forgot about that, my bad. I'm doing something quite important this morning."

I have been reading books all morning but I don't have any clues or something for this system. Maybe I will just find out how it works by myself.

"Anyway where are you, were about to have lunch, want to join?"

"Sure, at the usual?" Razz puts the books back and heads outside the university.

Suddenly, a beauty walks by followed by a stream of gazes filled with admiration.

Oh, I think she is the girl in my mission. Why would the system even give me something ridiculous as confessing to a girl I don't even talk to. My life is at stake and I don't even know if the reward is worth it!

The system must be trolling me right?

When Razz arrives at their usual eating spot he was surprised to see new faces with his friend.

"Razz you finally arrived, I ordered your usual tapa sisig meal for you. This is Josh and Rudy, they have the same classes as us this term for all general subjects."

They must be rich too seeing what they wear are all branded. Razz thought as he sits down in their table.

"Hi, I'm Razz, pleased to meet you"

"Hello, same here."Josh and Rudy replied.

After a while they became acquainted with each other and found out that Rudy is actually from the same program as him.

After eating for a while they started to walk towards the university as they have classes in the afternoon for their other general subjects.

While walking, Razz studies the system and the other functions it have other than giving out ridiculous missions. He found out that the system also have a store and a gambling feature but they are locked.

In his daze Razz crashed in the lamp post along the way making his friends laugh unreservedly.

"What are you doing Razz?" Phoenix asked as he tries to stop his laughter.

Razz embarrasingly shrugged it off and walked to the entrance of the school.

While waiting for their teacher in the classroom, Phoenix summarized to Razz the requirements they need for the classes Razz missed in the morning.

Suddenly the class becomes quiet due to the teacher arriving in the podium of their classroom.

Their teacher is Miss Valerie a veteran teacher that is known for her fierceness in the university. She is known to have a strict passing grade and doesn't give out special tasks for those who are failing.

The teacher began her introduction of the subject and gives the requirement needed for the students to pass the subject.

Razz and his friends are quiet throughtout the class for they are afraid the teacher would set her eyes on them making it hard for them to pass the subject.

All afternoon Razz pondered whether he should do the mission, or just accept that his life span will be reduced. Before the end of their class Razz resolutely thought that even if he confessed there shouldn't be any negative result other than being rejected, there might even be a chance that Rebecca will give him a surprise and accept.

When their classes for the afternoon finished, Razz said some excuse and left his friends.

He didn't want his friends to know what he is up to and rushed to the entrance of the school to look for Rebecca.

All he knows about Rebecca is that she is one of the most beautiful girls in their batch, and she topped their entrance exam by only having 50 points of mistakes.

Razz was also aiming for that chance because being the top scorer in the entrance examination means that he will be a full scholar and have a little incentive from the school.

After a few minutes of waiting he saw Rebecca walking alone towards the entrance.

"Rebecca!" Razz yelled as he went in front of Rebecca just before she went outside of the university.

"Yes?" Rebecca replied confusingly as she wondered why this man stopped her.

I wonder if I know him? I don't remember meeting him before.

As Rebecca was pondering Razz arrived in front of her and while sweating, forced out the words from his mouth.

"Please be my girlfriend!"

The whole crowd around the entrance were shocked as they didn't expect that someone was bold enough to confess in public to one of the most beautiful girl in school.

Others have mockery in their faces as they expected Razz to crash and burn.

Rebecca was startled as she also didn't expect the confession out of the blue. She didn't know what to say and do as she doesn't experience this events frequently.

Razz gets nervous seeing that Rebecca isn't saying or doing anything. He expected that she will refuse right away and he will immediately dash off after his act. Now that he is getting no response, the stares of the surrounding crowd makes him feel like his guts are going to spill out of his mouth.

Finally, Rebecca responded to his confession, saying "I think we should get to know each other first."

Shocked by her response Razz thought that he heard wrong as the rejection that he expected came somewhat ambigous.

Followed by his shocked was an even more astonishing prompt from the system.

"Ding... Mission completed: Confess to Rebecca Winston in public."

"Mission reward: Initial inheritance of tiny cultivation experience, tiny financial resource."

"System detected different type of currency used in current host world, converting to host's world's currency. Reward of 10 million proses. Directly deposited to host's money storage."

Razz not knowing what to do or say had his brain short circuit for a moment before answering.

"Ok."

then walked off the university as if nothing happened.

Rebecca was confused at first and then got angry, she thought through and came to the conclusion that maybe this man is not that bad and since he had the guts to confess in this crowded area, he may be sincere with his confession, but the man walked away contrary to her expectation.
