Chapter-10 Alba the Beast

When everyone saw that the king was just killed like that, they started feeling hopeless now. The morale that was raised with the king's arrival was gone just like that, even before it would have shown any result in the fight it had a reverse effect on everyone now. Everyone was still looking at the place where the king was in the air some seconds ago but now there was nothing of him remaining there.

The Beasts didn't stop attacking even when everyone was fazed. It continued its massacre without any worry, with every slash of his paw people were dying. Most of the guards now wanted to run but they thought about their families and the people that live in the village on the other side of the castle. They wanted to keep them safe so they build up their courage again and started attacking the Beast again in hope of defeating it or just making it tired enough so it will return to the forest again.

When the beam hit the castle and froze half of it in a second everyone that was in the castle on that side was frozen to death without knowing what had killed them.

Luckily Max was on the other side when the beam had hit the castle but right now he was running towards the back of the castle to go where the villager and civilians lives. Just some minutes ago before the beam had hit the castle Max had met a guard who had told him that the king had ordered to escort the villager and civilians to the other kingdom.

After Max's system had told him that the Beast is a legendary tier Beast, he had dropped any thoughts of staying here and trying to survive the attack. Max knew he was weak and surviving from the Beast that was the second strongest Beast according to their tiers. He found it suicidal but luckily the system had given him another option and that was to run away from the Beast.

Max was panting from running but he continued to run because he knew the instant, he stopped running he will die. If the Beast showed up there. Don't know why but Max was thinking about the little note that he had received yesterday saying "You Will Die". "I don't want to believe it but is the Beast here to kill me?" Max thought while connecting the timing of these two events.

"If Only they had horses here on this side too then I wouldn't have to run like that" Max thought while continuing to run towards the village.

On the other side of the castle, the Beast was still killing the guards there no matter how many guards it killed there were more to replace them. It was becoming a little boring for the Beast, before it can do anything another huge ball of flame hit him.

When it looked toward the direction where it had come from it saw an injured old man, he was again casting a spell to attack him. Earlier when this old man was casting this spell to hit the Beast a second time, he got injured the cause of the icy aura that comes after the Beast attacked someone near him with its paw.

Still, that fireball hadn't done any damage to the Beast but it was getting annoying for him. It was a creature that was entirely made of ice and thus it hates the heat or fire. The Beast ignored everyone other than that old man and in instant appeared before him, it opened its mouth and bite that old man's head while swallowing the rest of its body. That old man was like a little snack to the Beast but now he had gotten rid of the annoying fire that he hates a lot.

After the Beast had killed the old man, it jumped in the air and opened its mouth again to fire the beam at the guards on the ground that were now looking at the Beast who had jumped more than 10 meters high in the air. The beam come out of the Beast's mouth and just like before the surrounding temperature started to get low. The white beam hit the ground killing everyone on the ground and leaving frozen ground and trees in the surrounding.

The Beast casually landed on the ground when it was finished attacking it looked around to see if there is still anyone left alive to kill. After confirming that everyone had been killed it started to walk towards the castle.

In the forest, Lucas and those two guys were still running toward the castle hoping that they can still make time there and lend their strength in the fight. All three of them were panting from the running but suddenly they felt a chill run down their spine and this was the second time they had felt the chill. "We have to hurry, just don't die Albert and Max." Lucas hoped for the safety of King and Max but he didn't know that hope always disappoints us. King was already dead and Max was running for his life from the best which was slowly approaching him.

The Beast had entered the castle and now was looking around for any humans that he can find there. Yesterday when the Beast was in the cave resting while enjoying the meat of humans there. It had received a note from someone he is well acquainted with, saying that it was time to start their plan.

After becoming this powerful he had gotten intelligence compared to the humans and was able to communicate with humans but he never tried to do so. Now after looking around for some time the Beast had started to walk towards the back side of the castle where Max and others had escaped to.

But before he can go any further someone appeared in front of him out of thin air. When the Beast looked at the person who had appeared he had a friendly smile towards this person. The person that had appeared in front of him was the same guy who had told him to attack the castle. He was still wearing the same black clothing from earlier.

"There's a change in the plan. You have to come with me, we have something urgent to do." He said it to the Beast without any emotion in his voice. "I thought we were going to kill everyone here including that kid and now you're changing the plans that are not fair" the Beast was complaining like a child who had been told to go to school on a holiday.

"Didn't you enjoy massacring those people earlier, if you hadn't played around you could have finished this now. So don't complain and come with me Alba" the guy in the black said for this Alba agreed to go with him. The guy in black touched the Alba and disappeared in the air. But before disappearing he had looked towards the direction where Max was heading and said in his mind "You can live for some days more."
