Chapter 12: Third Floor

"Only two levels, that was the experience that this dirty worm gave me" Julio kicked the lifeless body of the worm several times "not only my life was at risk, but also I only got two levels of experience even though we had forty levels of difference".

Julio rubbed his hand on his face, since he had been summoned he had gone through a whirlwind of emotions, little by little he himself realizes that his psychological state hangs by a thread, either by the weight of being alone, the sun all day long in the desert or the danger of the missions on each floor of the dungeon.

"Sigh..." with pain in several sectors of his body, Julio left the worm's body behind, but not before removing the smallest fang as a symbol of victory.

"Something from here must be useful for the next floors" he checked the pile of corpses in the room, the belongings of the dead were still there, much was already useless and of the rest that was still useful he could only take what he could carry on his body, plus what he could carry in the backpack, he had no idea what kind of dangers might lurk on the next floors so he could only move forward carefully.

The armor on Julio's body had changed again, this time he only had shoulder and knee pads for protection, a shield in his left hand and a long sword in his right hand, a damaged bow and a couple of barely useful arrows.

"Third floor, here I come" the young hero began to descend the stairs at a steady pace, he had to brave the third floor if he wanted to get out of the dungeon.

Again the walls changed as he went down the steps, now the walls seemed to be made of river stones with mold in several sectors as if he was arriving to the jungle.

"Humidity" Julio murmured, touching his arm, the temperature remained the same, but the atmosphere was humid compared to the second floor, even though he had not officially entered the third floor, Julio kept his guard up, not letting any detail pass around him.

The young man's steps were slower and slower, heavy but slow, firm, but at the same time without the right balance, any expert swordsman would have noticed this.

When he reached the third floor he saw a completely new scenario, there was only a bridge connecting the entrance of the third floor to the exit of the same floor, in the center there was a circular platform of a radius of approximately fifteen meters. That is to say that from the entrance to the exit there were between fifty and sixty meters.

"A battle?" doubted Julio, he looked around, from the walls thick roots were coming out and from the edge of the passage that connects the entrance to the exit, an immense void could be seen, that is to say that the one who fell from the edge was condemned to death.

The abyss at the edges was not the only interesting thing on this third floor, when looking up one could see the huge tree connected to the roots of the walls, besides that tree had several fruits, unconsciously Julio let saliva come out from his mouth, rationing the food he had was really killing him slowly.

He shook his head several times to come to his senses, if there was any kind of battle then it was best to be prepared, not to have his mind on any other kind of activities, only on what was important at this moment.

[Welcome to floor 03]

[Crosses to the other side]

[Good luck, hope your heart is strong enough]

"Well I just have to cross to the other side, quite an admirable condition, now how safe is this route?"

Julio walked to the front, he had to get over the bridge, but considering the previous floors it was obvious that it won't be easy, you had to keep all your senses ready for action anywhere.

From the beginning he had had his eyes focused on the exit, by the time he was about half way through he noticed that there was another person in the place, he raised his guard immediately, he approached slowly without taking his attention off the individual in question.

It was the first person he had seen in days, Julio might have been happy in other types of circumstances, but now he was in a rather dangerous dungeon, if there was a person in the place then it didn't have to be normal.

Even when Julio was a few meters away from the person this one did not make any kind of movement, he barely breathed and was always looking up, the clothes were of gray colors that's why Julio had not seen him from the beginning, but his skin was dry and wrinkled, he was an old man.

"Hey old man" Julio called lowering his gun, the old man had white colored eyes, he quickly steeled himself but the old man was not reacting at all, he was standing there doing nothing "can you hear me old man?" even waving his hand in front of his eyes had no result.

"it's like he's in a coma, he's barely staying alive, but he has no consciousness" Julio drew his sword again and looked around "something is happening on this floor, it's not normal".

There was nothing in the surroundings, in the whole place there was only the old man and him.

Helping the old man seemed to be useless, he had no idea what was happening or how it had happened, he had no time to lose, he still had to get out of the dungeon and find a way to return home, his grandfather was waiting for him, but it wouldn't be forever.

It was while he was advancing on his way that another object appeared in his path, one of the fruits that were at the top of the room had descended next to the tree branch.

"a rather convenient event" he scoffed softly then moved past the fruit "the bridge, the lack of monsters, the tree, the old man and the fruit, too many things in the same place, I may be young but I'm not an idiot, I can still know when not to take candy from a stranger."

Julio continued on his way without stopping, the exit was only a few meters away, he raised his guard again it was strange that there were no monsters, but there was not much to do, he walked towards the exit and then.

[You completed the mission]

[You crossed the bridge successfully]
