Later in the morning, I walk to the bedroom to wake Loraine.

She smiles at me and hugs me tightly. How good does that feel, this is the body I want to feel against me forever. But my conscience gnaws, I feel soiled by the stranger who touched me without my permission. Loraine is my wife, out of sheer remorse I kiss her deeply. “Loraine, know that I will always love you. There is no other for me but you”, I whisper in her ear.

She kisses me again and runs her lips over my neck. That scares me, I have not yet inspected my body for possible traces that that evil witch might have left. I wouldn't be surprised if she purposely applied hickey all over my body. I grab my wife's hair and raise her face to mine. "Always stay with me. I promise to never disappoint you and always tell the truth,” I insist. She looks at me strangely and I realize that I am behaving differently. I'm used to telling her I love her, but this tone suggests there's more to my words.
