5 Sol

A few minutes after taking off, The spacecraft escaped the planet's atmosphere. Immediately James felt a massive difference compared to when he was still on the planet.

He could feel his body absorbing nearly about two times more solar radiation than it did previously.

The cause of this could be easily attributed to the fact that there was currently nothing filtering the radiation anymore.

Every planet with an atmosphere filters the amount of solar radiation that reaches the surface of the planet.

It was also because of this that humans haven't been burnt to a crisp despite being the third planet from the sun

James just lay in the spacecraft as he watched it navigate its way amongst the stars.

In his previous life, he wasn't much of a traveller and like many on Earth, he hadn't even seen the borders of his own country talkless of travelling to another country.

Hell, he had never even been to a different continent on his planet but now here he was traveling from one solar system to another.

"Come to think of it, how far is Earth from Krypton?" James thought after realizing a small problem.

Yes, the spacecraft was modified with a phantom or star drive I.e if the story still follows canon in any way But that doesn't mean that this would be a short journey after all Krypton might be in a different galaxy.

As the shuttle found its way through space, James' mind was racing as his mind thought of how long the journey would take but later calmed down since well, in the original story.

Kal-El's time of arrival wasn't mentioned but he remained a baby when he arrived on Earth so it was safe to say that the spacecraft was fast and frighteningly so.

There are other explanations like Jor-El designed some kind of hibernation mechanism in the spacecraft that controlled growth or something like that.

Amongst all the theories that passed through James' head, the only credible one was that the phantom drive lived up to its hype.

After finally calming down, James spent the rest of his time admiring the darkness of space along with the light spots of light that were in the sky.

While doing so, James fell asleep since no matter how mature his mind may be, his body wasn't.

Hours or days passed as the spacecraft continued on its journey with the two children in it waking up at time and falling back asleep.

James couldn't tell the amount of time that had passed but he did know that despite being here for an extended time, both he and Kal-El didn't feel hungry at all, well technically they did but it was resolved as soon as it started.

James could tell this wasn't because of their physiology which allowed them to absorb solar radiation.

James knew well that the amount of energy he absorbed had reduced by a significant amount ever since the spacecraft went into hyperdrive thus he also assumed the same for Kal so James went with the next best option.

Their parents must have installed various life-sustaining components in the spacecraft which included some kind of nutrient-feeding mechanism.

Although James couldn't feel this in action, he could at least tell that whenever he felt hungry, some kind of procedure occurred and minutes later, the feeling disappeared.

As their journey continued, they encountered little to no turbulence or trouble but there was one thing that caused a lot of trouble for James.

It was Kal's crying, although all their needs to stay alive were met, they still were babies and while James had his adult mind to guide him, Kal was still a normal baby so he cried a lot and with no one around to soothe the baby.

The duty fell on James who could either choose to wait the cry out by allowing Kal to cry himself to sleep or he could choose to soothe his brother.

James chose to stop the crying as soon as possible and it did bring a little entertainment between them.

Currently, no one could see a small spacecraft flying through space at blinding speeds but inside it, they would see two babies inside the spacecraft.

One of the babies could be seen carrying his brother as he gently patted his back.

James had made it a hobby to take care of his brother. He watched the stars when Kal was sleeping or eating and cradled his brother when he was crying.

All this was only possible because James was somehow stronger than he thought.

If he was correct then his wish had made him the perfect energy absorber meaning he could absorb all types of energy in other words he had absorbed more energy than his brother had, thus making him stronger or at least strong enough to carry himself and his brother without causing himself any pain.

Some time passed and he finally could see the solar system he was familiar with. He had seen it many times on the internet and though the photos didn't match the real thing, it was still pretty close.

The solar system has surprisingly more planets than we thought but were all too small to be considered one.

James may not have been an expert astrologer or may not have paid that much attention to anything space-related but immediately he entered the solar system, he knew he was home.

Out of excitement, James immediately stood up to see the solar system in all its majesty. As he stood up, James found himself face to face with a large brown-ish planet.

It had multiple layers of different shades of brown on it and was so large that the spacecraft was nothing but a speck on its surface.

"Damn Jupiter's big" James shouted in his thoughts as he watched the spacecraft find its way to its destination,

The third planet from the sun, known to her inhabitants as Earth and to other civilizations as Terra.

"Oh shit!" James thought as he immediately laid down back on his usual spot as he braved for impact.
