18 Chapter 18 - Fate
Taking care of a baby was no easy task.
Though Wang Tian still remembers his previous life, he was only a bachelor. The only experience he had with a baby was messing around with the baby, not exactly taking care of the baby.
And just because Wang Tian was Heaven, that doesn't mean he should know everything.
Days after days passed as Wang Tian took care of baby Liu Kong.
Sometimes, baby Liu Kong would wake up in the middle of the night, rousing Wang Tian from his meditation.
Fortunately, he wasn't asleep nor did he ever need to. His soul had become too powerful to be in a true slumber. Just a bit of meditation would reinvigorate his tired soul.
Hence, Wang Tian would just stay beside baby Liu Kong in the middle of the night and meditate, focusing on his main soul most of the time.
The baby's crying had instead become his alarm whenever he had to take care of the baby.
Getting the baby's food was easy. Wang Tian just had to transform the world's qi into nutrition for the baby and it was done even though Wang Tian didn't know what kind of side effects it will have.
Anyway, with the food secured, Wang Tian focuses on raising baby Liu Kong.
The days passed with just the same thing.
Taking care of baby Liu Kong, feeding, cleaning, and sometimes playing with him might be the last thing Wang Tian had to learn.
As more time passes, Wang Tian gradually becomes more proficient in taking care of baby Liu Kong.
Unknowingly, the years passed slowly but surely.
As Liu Kong became older, Wang Tian never stop his observations of Liu Kong's golden fate.
The thing he noticed was the golden fate was accumulating the energy it needs as Liu Kong grows older however slow it was.
When Liu Kong became ten years old, the golden fate stopped its gathering of energy. It stagnated.
Meanwhile, Wang Tian's familiarity with the Authority kept increasing as the years passed.
At his current pace, he would need around a few more decades to completely familiarize himself with the amount of Authority he has.
As for the golden fate, Wang Tian had a few guesses why it stopped the accumulation.
It might be because of the safe environment. Wang Tian guessed that Liu Kong had to be in a somewhat dangerous situation for the golden fate to accumulate more of the fate energy. After all, Liu Kong's safety was guaranteed if he was with Wang Tian. But Wang Tian was still unsure.
He thought he should find some time to find out more about it. Especially since he could see some bits and pieces of how Fate work as his mastery of the Authority increases.
Liu Kong might have to be a cultivator to truly let his fate become bigger and break out of its cocoon. Affecting the whole world, until his fate runs out.
As Wang Tian spend more time studying fate in the world, he found that the common populace doesn't have that much fate.
The golden seed of fate that Liu Kong possessed seemed to be one of a kind, for as far as Wang Tian could see.
The most fate he had ever seen in this town was from the town lord. Just a cluster of mist. For the others, the size and amount would vary for each person in different authoritative position.
For Liu Kong, the golden seed from back then had become something like a small golden core. Considering the information Wang Tian received back when he first connects with the law of fate from the golden seed, Liu Kong should be the Chosen One of this realm.
For the general populace, the majority has no fate at all. They were destined to be nothing their whole life, with the exception of some fate-defying encounter.
As for Liu Kong, he was destined to become something great. Whatever it was.
Wang Tian thought by becoming a cultivator, Liu Kong might trigger his golden fate to start accumulating more energy for the golden core of fate inside of him.
Hence, when Liu Kong becomes twelve years old, the minimum age to start cultivation, Wang Tian started his teaching.

"Liu Kong, close your eyes and focus on your senses. Can you sense the qi in the air?"
In the courtyard behind the store, a slightly middle-aged man was moving back and forth in front of a teenager sitting in a lotus position in the middle of the courtyard.
Wang Tian had deliberately made himself appear older as time passes. Something he did just for appearance's sake. As baby Liu Kong, he has now become a handsome young boy.
"Yes, teacher!" Liu Kong answered energetically.
"I think... I can somewhat feel it." He added just seconds later.
Teacher.
After Liu Kong started to understand the world, Wang Tian introduced himself as his teacher. Wang Tian felt it would be quite awkward to make Liu Kong call him father.
When Wang Tian was comprehending the law of fate, he found bits and pieces of Liu Kong's future since it was the golden fate in Liu Kong that he was looking.
Liu Kong had his destiny. Whatever it is.
His raising Liu Kong was already interfering with Liu Kong's fate. And if Liu Kong calls him father, it might be too much.
It was a good thing that Wang Tian didn't give him the surname Wang. Or else more troublesome things might come on his way in the future.
Wang Tian likes surprises, but only the good ones. And he had a feeling that one was not going to be good.
"Very good. Now breathe in following this breathing instruction to absorb qi into your body."
Wang Tian flicked a finger and a ray of light went inside Liu Kong's head through the space between his eyebrows.
Liu Kong didn't see what happened, but he suddenly had a bunch of knowledge inside his head.
It was an unnamed set of breathing instructions on how to absorb qi.
Liu Kong immediately focuses on following the instructions.
As Liu Kong breathes following the instructions, the surrounding qi in the courtyard slowly flows through his nose, entering his body.
Wang Tian stayed quiet the whole time to let Liu Kong focus on meditating.
The breathing manual was something Wang Tian created to suit Liu Kong just earlier, after scanning Liu Kong's body.
The manual had all the things Liu Kong need in how to cultivate and store the qi inside him until he breaks through to the Soul Transformation stage.
The only thing left was if he has questions to ask Wang Tian.
Half an hour later, Liu Kong became a cultivator, an early Qi Condensation stage cultivator.
Liu Kong had now stepped onto the path of a cultivator.
At the same time, the golden fate inside Liu Kong's soul started to show signs of gathering fate energy once more under Wang Tian's eyes.
'This should be the second phase.' Wang Tian thought while observing the golden core of fate inside Liu Kong's soul.
