Chapter 27(Ruins 2)

At the end of the first ring of Ruins

[Sir we are pretty much sure we have cleared every single monster that was there in this first ring.]said a young man.

[Damnit... it's been a whole season...what the hell happened to the ruins to have such a drastic change.]said the middle-aged man while throwing a blazing fist on a metallic door.

[This damn door doesn't even move an inch if we are unable to identify the cause of it not only we would be in trouble, but the trouble could as well as spread outside the Ruins]said the middle-aged man.

[Sir should we ask reinforcement from headquarters or else we should return]said the young man.

[i can understand that all of you might be depressed from all that's happening in these ruins, but you should also remember that if we retreat now it would take at least winter for reinforcements to arrive, and do you think that these will stay idle in meantime] said the middle-aged man to all his subordinates.

[No sir, we would defend this with our lives]said all in unison.

[Good... Prepare a unit of three-man that have the fastest aerial mobility... take with your best horses... do not stop at night and reach headquarters s fast as you can, deliver my message to the headquarter and warn them about Gate in advance, ask them to bring their best blacksmiths and Ruin casters]declared the middle-aged man.

Soon three-man wearing black uniforms stepped forward and saluted to a Middle-aged man before dispersing like a Gust of Wind.

All of them dispersed and walked inside their respective tents, except the middle-aged man who was still standing in front of the Door like before.

The metallic-like door was made up of very hard metal and was covered in various kinds of Ruins from its top to bottom. There were no holes for key, nither there was any division that indicates that it is a door instead of a lump of huge black iron.

Soon winter came and along with it came reinforcement, the line established by middle-aged men has been severely pushed back, in this interval of time there have been many changes, the Firelands has expanded a lot and are 10 times hotter now, and the density of monsters that are spawning is increasing readily, there have been reports of many "lesser fire Demon" sightings and hordes of "fire-lings" there have also been reporting of a Young "True Fire Demon" that is now said to be Ruler of the First ring and is standing guard against the metallic door.

[What the hell happened here, where is Commander Jason] asked a man, who looked like the leader of the army, and had the same uniform as the Middle-aged man.

Amidst the crowd a man stood up from his chair and walked forward, there was no more arrogance on his face, but a large scar, his eyes had huge black circles, and his hair was either messed up or slightly burned. this was the man who came from a prestigious line of flame-wielding family and due to his aptitude in Flame manipulation was selected as the commander of this mission, which was clearing the "The Cloister of Eternal Fire". but looking at his current condition no one could say that he was such a person,

[Sir] said Jason, not even having the energy to shout loudly.

[Hmm... Mr. Jason how have you been, I heard that you alone are defending against a mutated Ruin when I heard that I quickly made up my mind to form a team and made my way here, I also brought with me many delicacies that were on my way to replenish your energy, ] said the man on the horse while having a visible smirk as if he was looking down on Jason.

Before the young man can finish his world a dense aura landed on him, making him shiver. This man was one of 3 men that have gone to headquarters to report. Jason stepped forward before the man dispersing the aura of Army Leader.

[Your words are true, you all need rest, don't worry we would guard the line till you come]said, Jason.

[Tch...]the army leader went towards their assigned tents.

Now that army was away the man suddenly stumbled on the ground and started crying tears.

[Sir I really tried to bring them early...sir ...they took the strange way that took a lot of extra time.. whenever we faced monster somehow we three ended up in first-line... Tom... Tim both died in a cruel manner ... sir it's all a huge plot... when I realized this... I didn't want to bring them here...but I knew without them there would be no way for others to survive...sir I am truly sorry...I tried ... I really tried...] the man was sobbing nonstop, he seemed to be trembling nonstop.

[you have suffered enough...your service are no longer required... you are dismissed...someone takes him away] someone came and took away sobbing man.

[Sir what should we do, should we poison their food before serving them, it will relieve us from any future problems...I will take full blame]said the young man, who was second in command of this subjugation army, Jim Fort.

[I admire you for your courage...but that's not a way of Pheonix]said, Jason.

[and as for your concern even if he has schemes... he does not have the courage to battle against a Pheonix] said with a faint smile Jason and then walked away.

[report to me no. of casualty and ration repot, along with the scout insights.]said Jim while walking towards his tent. soon there were three reports placed on his table, but Jim was not reading them. he was busy thinking about something. the soldier who came to report saw this gently knocked on the table waking Jim from his daze.

[Bring the following people in and tell them to be discrete about it understood.] said Jim while giving a paper to the soldier.

[I think in the worst case we need to prepare for a Civil war, even before going on the battlefield, ... Damit I have sacrificed a lot to reach this position I cant let my efforts go to waste.]said Jim to himself, while picking up delivered documents to read.

Jim's shadow flickered for a moment and even before anyone can notice it returned to its usual state motion and lifeless ... and at another location, Jason suddenly had a disgusting look on his face.
